  1. In my opinion I don't think it matters what classification you put a school in if you have talent and coaching you can beat anyone. Do you all remember when (1A) Pahokee was beating the breaks off of everyone. Some say it was because they didn't play anymore and what about (4A) Booker T. Washington. From 2011-2015 they went to states and brought the ring back 4 times. It should have been 5 but they let that 2011 game against Bolles slip away.

Great to hear and that should be a good game. Coach Tate is doing a great job building up Dillard. I don't think coach Tate is in any rush to play a national schedule this year. I think he will start this year by playing some State powerhouses then progress to playing a National schedule the following year. Kids want to play for coach Tate.  Dillard admin hit gold with their last two head coach hiring.  Coach Tate is working hard with the college recruiters as well as the Dillard community.  That's why alot of the Dillard alum are bringing their kids back to play for Dillard again. Coach Tate is building a fence around Dillard and they should be a force moving forward.

St. Thomas won't like this lol

Tbh I believe 7A would b the highest we ever go, so if we do move it would be back down to 6A

& we were one of the first high schools to play iMG academy back in 2013-2014, I actually made the trip to the game.

    Oh didn't know that

Facts, STA is TBD because of the district realignment we may be in 2 diff districts but if we do remain in the same district WHEWWW.

This what I'm saying a gauntlet for Dillard. Aye do you think Dillard would ever schedule IMG Academy the Miami schools do every year and what class is Dillard now moving to.

Its in strong talks to return, it was suppose to be there last year. But if I’m gonna be honest the soul bout attendance has fell way down over the years. ATLEAST on elys side. Dillard have still been bringing standing room only crowds home or away.

elys alumni only supports when ely is doing good if their not good their attendance is piss poor in football & bball. We just played them in basketball last Saturday & usually that game is circled & sold out days prior man ely had about 15 folks in their side not counting the cheerleaders.

back in nov for soul bowl ely side was so Empty u would think their fans forgot it was a game it was so pitiful & sad to see for such a historical rivalry & they were the home team!!!

Same thing with the Soul Bowl in Miami. Northwestern and Jackson been playing since 1967 but Jackson alumni, fans, community and students don't show up because Jackson isn't good kind of like Ely. Now Northwestern is like Dillard they show up and show out regardless.

To BE BIG, you got to play big. It’s time for Dillard to get NATIONAL exposure win or lose , but you already know I’m rooting for the dub. More then likely it will be away.

I'm doing the what if scenario here but what if Dillard beats St. Johns, schedules a Miami power like Central or Northwestern, then beat St. Thomas twice and capture a state title. Now I see Dillard maybe being national Champs.

Tbh I wanna see them BOTH for personal reasons.

Miami central because that was the last team my good friend Eddie faced before he suddenly passed away & to defeat them & go on to win state I believe would be….words can’t even express man.

STA because I mean they’re STA that’s a whole reason within it’s self lol, but also because they ended our regular season game win streak at 39 consecutive games lol so to end their chance at a 3 Pete & go hoist that trophy would be historical for our program.

    Got you

The FHSAA "reclassifies" all teams on a 2-year cycle based on student enrollment.  The exception was last year when a 1-year reclassification was used because of the impact of the pandemic on school enrollment.  The upcoming reclassification will be for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years.  District assignments are then determined based on geographic factors, similar-sized districts, etc.  "Revamping" the classification system would indeed require Board approval.

But we are still going through a pandemic so it would be interesting to see how it unfolds

You don't have to play an out of state team to have a competitive schedule. Venice does a good job putting together a tough schedule yearly. The same goes for Columbus, Northwestern, Chaminade, Cocoa, Central, American Hertiage and Gibbons to name a few others. Dillard is in South Florida so it should not be hard to schedule quality opponents and I'm not talking about Miramar or Plantation.  South Florida is full of state Champs and teams that make it to the state semis yearly. So having 3-4 of those teams on year schedule should prepare you for the playoffs.

Recruiting in South Florida.... kids and their parents first choice is usually between STA, Central, American Hertiage, Gibbons, Chaminade, Northwestern and Columbus (no order).  Parents are knocking the doors down to get in those school. Stop acting like those school have to recruit, they are a brand. They are usually turning kids away. Kids want to play for championships and kids also like schools that get a lot of attention. Also those schools have stability with their coaching staff.  Most other schools in South Florida have a high turnover rate with the head coaches and staff which makes it hard to trust the process.

What you're saying is accurate but schools like Central and Northwestern have home grown talent. Yes they do get transfers in but not the whole team and remember everyone pretty much knows each other from the little league parks in the communities.

exactly, central aint beat the west in years. they got it this year but its been some time since central was beat the west. you can’t judge those games cause that rivalry is just too deep.

Exactly they've been playing each other each year since the 80's or 90's and this rival runs deep within both schools and communities. Believe it or not some say this is the new Soul Bowl obviously you know Jackson been fell off.

I'm surprised how many of you are picking Miami Northwestern over Jesuit. Northwestern lost to Miami Central 49-6 a little over a month ago. I'm not saying they aren't a good team, but it doesn't bode well for their chances.

Miami Central and Miami Northwestern are rivals and it has been time where Northwestern beat Central like this.

  12. Down south schools are good but not on the same level as the northern end of Miami schools. The only school down south that's good year end and out is Palmetto and Columbus (private school).

As for Killian schedule they had a good schedule if you looking at it from the outside but from the inside it wasn't that good. Schools like Booker T. Washington, Carol City and Southridge are always good expect this year. The only real contenders were Miramar and Palmetto which is why Killian went 12-0.

exactly! literally any time a broward public or private won a ring it was aided by many dade kids going to school in broward. This isn’t saying broward can’t do it alone but it is saying that broward hasn’t been doing it alone. still got love for the 954

Exactly and a lot of parents just don't switch counties for football or any sport but for education as well.
