  1. This is theoretically the answer but it will never work.
  2. Apopka AT Madison County Nothing to see here, just your normal everyday 1R team.
  3. 10 1/2 month contract for a new teacher is growing to 47k this year. You're "technically off" during those 1 1/2 months but there is training, pre-planning, etc. It isn't a full workload, but there is some unpaid work. Not to mention the unpaid work they do during the school year.
  4. Some schools never have a prayer of winning a state title, especially in today's age. Call them exhibition games for all I care. Just give them more games. More games, more money. More games, more exposure. As long as we don't confuse it for what it is not, I don't see an issue.
  5. I don't hate this as a concept if you just look at it as just "more football" for kids/coaches/fans. I personally wouldn't hate having a "B" bracket so long as the winner of said bracket is not considered a state champion...because they're not. But more football isn't a bad thing, it is just all about perspective. You cannot call these teams state champions. I am concerned this is just a cash grab from the FHSAA though. If they can "prove" that it works in the rural divisions, then they can have more football games at the higher levels of classification and rake in the money....
  6. Depends on what "final" is...I've heard of a lot of schools that are unhappy and are going independent. Who knows how other schools will feel once things are reshuffled again?
  7. This would be my opinion but who knows really.
  8. Quite a few smaller public schools have joined recently. Bell joined it last year I know for certain.
  9. 1. They do. 2. Not anymore. 3. That is similar to what the SSAC does. Issue would be if you didn't follow the FHSAA rules then you wouldn't be eligible for postseason play, but some schools do it this way and are a part of the SSAC and the FHSAA. Although we probably would benefit from another/bigger association.
  10. It is just really tough. If you're a Union County, what do you do? You pretty much have to suck it up and just get as far as you can just to lose to Chaminade. I am sure they will appeal, but probably to no avail.
  11. I get that they aren't in the lowest 32, but yeah man I don't know how you can look at Fort White, Newberry, Williston, Union, Bozeman, etc. and expect them to compete in the same classification as Chaminade. Bozeman gave up 60 to Madison, and Chaminade would beat Madison just as bad as they beat Bozeman....Williston couldn't get past Hawthorne, who would also lose to Chaminade in spectacular fashion. It is very unfortunate for those fringe 1A/1R schools.
  12. Yeah Chaminade is going crazy with their roster, as per usual. With a good schedule, National Champions in 2024?
  13. Versus your argument in which the smaller schools from suburban and rural areas are being "punished." If kids went to where they were zoned to go, STA would not be where they are now. To you, THAT is fine but then changing with the times as those rules change isn't alright? You only want the rules that benefit the metro schools because you root for metro schools, right? There's definitely arguments for both sides, and the answer is probably somewhere in the middle...but you aren't willing to concede that it seems.
  14. In comparison with the other schools in the area, sure they're good at it. Which is equitable between STA and the schools around them. That doesn't make it equitable with Columbia in Lake City.
  15. I know you're new (as am I relatively), but I like you! I tend to agree with your sentiment...
  16. CCC isn't a bad team. Chaminade is just next level.
  17. It is about to get out of hand... 21-0 Chaminade 0:54 remaining in the first quarter.
  18. For what it is worth....I've got 1R: Hawthorne 1S: Cardinal Mooney 1M: Chaminade-Madonna 2S: Cocoa 2M: Miami Norland 3S: St. Augustine 3M: St. Thomas Aquinas 4S: Venice 4M: Columbus
