    • ....this afternoon at 4:00. So much to unpack and a couple of questions.... * I didn't expect a lot from two teams who were 1-6 and 0-7, and I wasn't disappointed. * PBG actually had a decent QB and a couple of decent WR, and they shredded the Dwyer secondary. * Dwyer was BAD...REALLY BAD on both sides of the football.  * I counted 38 players dressed for PBG and 33 for Dwyer.  * Dwyer maybe had 3-4 1st downs for the game. * PBG had at least 2-3 TD called back. * We almost weren't able to get in, because we didn't have E-tickets from Friday night (we went to John Carroll at Jensen Beach) when it was postponed, and they weren't available. We wanted to pay to get in, but they wouldn't accept it and said we couldn't come in. I told them that was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard. Then several more people showed up who had gotten off work early to see nieces and nephews on Senior Day who didn't have tickets either, and they started raining Hell about it. The cops wandered over, and someone finally called the Dwyer AD, and he reopened the GoFan ticket portal. How could they have been so unorganized? If that had happened back in my old hometown in Virginia or any of the other schools in that area, people would have went nuts. One thing I've noticed down here is that some schools do a little planning and are organized as far as getting people in, but some schools act like it's the first time they've ever hosted a football game.  * I know coaching matters, but since Jack Daniels left Dwyer, they have fallen off the face of the earth. They will finish 0-10. When we moved here, PBG was competitive. Does Daniels draw most of the talent in Palm Beach Gardens to Newman, or is it something else?  Oh yeah...PBG won the game 41-0, and it really wasn't as close as the score indicated, but it was great to see high school football on a Monday afternoon. I think Thursday we'll catch Sebring @ Glades Central (and eat at Dixie Fried Chicken), Friday is Jensen Beach @ Fort Pierce Central, and on Saturday it's Miami Central @ Southridge, and it's our first trip to Southridge, in case anyone has travel/parking or eating tips.

    • Are we going to get overall current standings?  I would like to know who I am looking up at.

    • Nolebull813, Sorry, I didn't see this. Great question. The way it works is the Power Number reflects a team's potential. This is the number that dictates the forecasted point spread. The Ranking Number (referenced above) includes a formula I created years ago that incorporates a "winning edge" factor into the mix. Also, I find it interesting that both Arnold and Gainesville lost this past weekend. You picked two good ones.
