  1. Fort Myers vs Naples Lakeland vs Apopka Trinity Christian vs Bolles (happened a little too late, would have been great matchups in mid 2000s) Columbia vs Vanguard Columbia vs Mainland Mainland vs St Augustine Lincoln vs niceville (should have happened more when both were at top of game) I'll try thinking of more

  3. Lakeland's biggest local 'Rivalries' (Kathleen, Winter Haven, Jenkins) have been quite lopsided. Not sure how much of a rival George Jenkins is to Lakeland, but proximity kind of dictates it. Many of the parents that lived in that area went to Lakeland (before GJ existed), and now their kids go to GJ. Lakeland is 25-2 against Kathleen since 1993 (26 regular season games, 1 playoff game). Although Kathleen has seen some more recent success, beating Lakeland in 2013 & 2016. Since 1993, Lakeland is 20-0 vs. Winter Haven Since 1994, Lakeland is 22-1 vs. George Jenkins (GJ won in 2003).

  5. Not a pure and storied rivalry like St Aug/Palatka, but Bartram Trail just beat St Aug for the first time in 18 years. St Aug and B Trail have played every year since 2001, the 2nd year of B Trail’s existence. 18 years total. And in 2018, B Trail finally won. St Aug 17 wins, Bartram Trail 1

  6. Funny how things work out. I actually thought University was better than Cocoa and Raines last year. University had the same problems against Cocoa that Cocoa had against Raines. They shot themsleves in the foot to many times and lost because of it. All in all though, All 3 teams were State championship caliber teams, with University#1, Cocoa at 2, then Raines in that order. The "funny thing" they finished just the opposite. That's my humble opinion of course. Yeah, I know... coming a little late with this. LOL...

  7. This terrible tragedy has been such a shock to our area. Corey was a devoted father, husband , and coach. He died horrifically in front of his wife, children, and team. His wife died trying to save him, his son chase is now fighting for his life. Corey was from Wakulla County he coached in Liberty County, and worked many years in Gulf and Franklin counties. Please keep the family and team in your prayers.
