  1. The man is in the house. Hey Dan, welcome to Josh Wilson 101.
  2. TCA has all the key players in the right places. Time is all they need. 2 more games and they will be unstoppable. I did notice that a few of the O-line needed a little more conditioning but are very solid and the conditioning will come with game time. Legend was throwing some lasers when given enough time and is a better QB than most teams have. #88 is just a plain ole freak. He has that football magic coaches love. TCA will be okay. For some reason I always think CCC is north? SOoo, It looks like Oxbridge will have to earn it after all...
  3. I just hope Cocoa and Viera don't get shutout. Please dear God, let the Brevard teams play the game of their lives and come home with their teams intact. Amen.
  4. Trinity Christian will not have a problem making it to the 3A playoffs. They have top shelf athletes on that team,
  5. I was on the wagon Oxbridge last year until three of the wheels fell of. I feel like they could push their way through the south bracket right to the Championship game with Trinity Jax this year. AH DelRay seems to have lost something in the last 2 seasons. It will never be a cake walk in 3A south but they have the ponies. Same for Trinity, they will have some good competition in the north from teams like CCC. Cocoa vs The Bishop. Judson had a good game against a highly ranked defense. He put up 175 or so in the air and then another 85 on the ground. Bishop Gorman's being quoted as having the #1 defense in the nation. We will just have to wait and see what Cocoa can do with their ground game before Wilks will ask Judson to start throwing. There is potential for some passing with a few added transfers that can catch the ball as seen last week against Trinity. I'm not fool enough to believe Cocoa will take a lead and hold and push Bishop around like they did Trinity when they will be flying 2300 miles to play one of the best teams in America in the desert. I'm just hoping for another good game where the boys can come home and still feel respected. Who would have thought they were going to beat the highly publicized Trinity team last week? Cocoa's job is to play the best game they can and maybe they make it a great game. Hey, to be the best, you have to play the best. I know at least one South Florida team that will be cheering for Cocoa...
  6. I wouldn't bet any real money on any team beating IMG. Sure they looked flat Friday night against a top national 10 team that many thought were going to beat IMG. On the road IMG was 2 TD's and 2 FG's better than Georgia's top team. Run it by me why you think BTW and STA should beat them?
  7. If Cocoa beats Gorman top 10. It would take everything going Cocoa's way and then some though.
  8. Great post as always Jessica. Just want to say Flanagan is going through some turmoil and will be lucky to break .500 this season, and Cocoa's defense is much improved with the transfers that came in. 4 hard running backs sharing the position this season is going to make it hard to stop Cocoa's clock eating game of pound and grind it out. Don't be to hard on TCA just yet.
  9. Trinity was favored by 3 TD's and a FG. Minus the FG just before the game.
  10. In error, I believe University was 3a when they came to Cocoa and beat them pretty good.
  11. Not bad. I'll ride shotgun with you on this one.
  12. Short lived however. Cocoa is going to the desert to play a bigger, faster team. If they ever needed some love from the football gods, it will be this coming Friday night.
  13. Wow, Maxpreps was sure fast changing TCA's national rank from #5 to 22 and Cocoa's from 154 to 19. LOL.
  14. Well Bishop Gorman's and BTW chances just got better. Cocoa 26, TCA 23 in OT. What a game, it should never went into OT. If you watched it on ESPN2 you know what I mean. For the record, Cocoa has never lost to a team in a lower classification than Cocoa's classification since Wilks took over as HC.
  15. I respectfully disagree again. In 2010, Cocoa beat the #1 ranked Abilene Tx team 24-21. They finished the season undefeated, and moved all the way to#12 in the USA poll. By your standards, Cocoa should have finished the season as the National Champs. They defeated Glades Central when they mattered. GC beat a very good Skyline Tx that year in TX. No easy feat. They defeated Madison County when MC was an exceptional team to win the North bracket. They defeated Abilene who beat Plant 27-17, Plant lost to STA in the Championship game in O-Town. They defeated Thomas Jefferson Pa, who when on to win their Championship in Pa. They also beat Olive Branch, who lost in the 3rd round of their playoffs. All I'm trying to say is that one game doesn't make a #1 national team. It takes a complete season. Bishop pounded Cedar Hill to pieces. BTW barely squeaked by on a iffy call. BG was ranked by some polls as #1 where STA was ranked by others as #1. Think it all the way through.
  16. I disagree, Pre season is just that. If pre season didn't include 4th quarter second string, JV and Freshman play I may tend to agree. Hell, Cocoa played a 13 year old against Clearwater who had 2 solo tackles with many assists. I'm sure there are more HS games where the out come may have resulted in different scores if just the starters played the whole game. You only count the in season games toward the National Champ. Just sayin, BTW will have time to prove they are top 10. Beating STA is a good start.
  17. Brown, a Harvard commit... I found this as interesting as them winning because of 4 missed FG's. Head slapper for sure.
  18. Ice will schedule some big games next year... he knows he has some special players in this squad. They believe in themselves. I just don't see BTW having enough of a schedule to be the MNC this year, but hey, I was wrong on calling for STA to win this one so who knows, maybe they get voted MNC this year if the ducks line up right for BTW. Cocoa will need to knock off TCA and BTW will need to knock off Cocoa. If Cocoa loses then it weakens BTW's schedule in the playoffs. I will say, It was one hell of a game last night... dang good game. STA should have knocked heads on the last play and ran it in. That coach screwed STA out of a win, not the refs.
  19. keep the updates coming. How does Oxbridge look?
  20. This one makes me nervous on paper. TC is loaded to the top with D1 athletes. Cocoa has a few D1 players also, by about half as many if that. TC should win, but you know Cocoa likes to go against the odds, no matter how big. I'll call it as a 3 point game to who ever has the ball last.
  21. I like Venice's chance's in this one. They seemed to be under rated more than many of the west coast teams.
  22. Palm Bay vs Columbine will be the most interesting game for me.
  23. DP is due... I would like to see them conquer the title this year. DP is one of the harder teams to gauge year in and year out. Agree about some of the Brevard teams having a run. Rockledge, Palm Bay, Merritt Island had some monster programs around the turn of the century. Cocoa took over once John Wilkerson join the staff as HC. Watch out for Viera, I hear they are pulling in some serious athletes from the Palm Bay and Melbourne area.
  24. Palm Bay vs Columbine should be one of the better games at Disney IMHO. Just hope the reffing is even. Some of the OOS teams that come to Disney seem to get an edge in the breaks. Not much where it is blatant, but just enough to give the OOS team a little push, like flags come out just a little faster for the Florida teams. Just my opinion.
