Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in The Numbers Behind the Dropoff of Broward County Public Schools
Broward publics were stacked with good teams and talent in 2015.
Flanagan, Hallandale, Deerfield Beach, and Coconut Creek's graduating 2016 class alone probably produced more D1 talent then all Broward publics combined over the last two years(2017, 2018).
Monarch 4 WR Core from the 2015 class was probably one of if not the best WR Core from Broward ever. Calvin Ridley 2016 (Alabama), Riley Ridley 2017 ( Georgia), Jerry Jeudy 2018 (Alabama), Shawn Burgess-Becker (Alabama ).
I have stated my concern for 2015 being a significantly stronger year for Broward publics then what we are seeing these days. I hope things can change slightly and it just takes a few great coaches willing to go to publics that may right the public ship again.

Not back in the day... but of late?
Absolutely! Most of Dillard top players last year were inbound transfers. Dillard has some in house talent but nothing like back in the day.

Wrong. Devin Bush brought in nearly all of these kids from the AYFL where he coached Pembroke Pines. Bush made this team a little better every year by keeping his talent home over a 4 year cycle while he was at Flanagan. The team was very competitive under Bush and 3 or 4 kids (who grew up playing for Bush in youth football in Pembroke Pines) returned to Flanagan which helped lead 2015 Flanagan's Defense to that elite form. Bush left for Michigan in 2016 and Stanford Samuels took over the program in which Flanagan had a pretty good season. Samuels son graduated and went to FSU. Samuels resigned and Flanagan did not hire within in which they had several assistants on staff that were probably fit to take over . All coaches left and lots of talent followed suit. Flanagan hired the longtime Hollywood Hills HC and he lasted a year.
The facts are Devin Bush took over a average 8A program, built a mini 4-5 power cycle by bringing in his talented youth team and other players from the area from 9th grade. Bush was successful by keeping kids home and not leaving in a very stacked area of Broward County. Granted Bush also attracted talent but it wasn't like 2015 was this fly by night roster put together. 3 or 4 kids transferred to that team.
How many of all those talented kids that played for Devin Bush left Flanagan while he was there to play for other local private or public powers?
Tell me one.

I kinda hit on this in another thread
And I can't blame the coaches I'm just saying the issues are stemming from coaching
Look at Deerfield Beach, probably one of the most talented teams in the county but they can never go deep, why? Coaching

That’s me I retweeted .. Same way you have info I have some info too.. Now granted you know more about STA then most of us which I suspect I know who you are, but ppl have opinions.. Only thing I’m close with when it comes to STA is coach Glen Holt WRs coach who I played with in HS... Idk everything about the Broward schools when it comes about why this school don’t play that school and what not... All I did was coach in Broward county before and built some relationships out there... Some of their words be 100 some be not...Now I’m no clown from Dade County that’s why you highlighted my name cause you see the twitter name and that zoe flag so you knew It was me... I know reasons why STA wasn’t playing Dade schools... That’s in the past now cause coach Harriot is there now and he doesn’t shy away from Dade schools since he’s been coach at USchool... Los if that tweet of somebody opinions bothers you, than I can’t help you bruh.. I still f with you tho.. 100

Zoe Boy reacted to DB4 in Venice
As someone who has run social media and coached on high school teams, I have a simple rule when it comes to interaction: I only tweet, or RT, or anything like that, something that has to do with football. So if a kid tweets out that he got offered, or how he did at a camp, or some award he won, then I'll interact. Otherwise, no dice. So I would have never liked or RTed what Peacock did about the Braden River coach. Peacock is making himself sound like a victim and a martyr at the same time. Idk if that actually is the case but it just doesn't seem right to me.

You're going to be the one crying if/when this thread gets locked, but I have to ask: do you know for a fact that right now, today, STA is avoiding those other schools or that those other schools are avoiding STA? Or are you simply reciting things that happened years ago?

Riddle me this? How did this go from STA-Miami Central matchup to history, uniforms, etc. It's so hard to be on these forums when folks can't stay on topic.

Yea the kids that’s not talented... That would happen at every school. STA has a lot of kids that been there 4 years that don’t get jump in the roster.. Like I said it happens at EVERY school...

You are correct, it seemed like it may have been longer then that but my point is there is no perfect world. There are lots of teams down here that bounce in and out of the top 100 and sometimes the top 25. We could make loads of "why not" and "what if " match ups but at the end of the day programs do things that suit their needs and objectives.

Or maybe they don’t want to deal with the BS that goes on at public schools also.. Like the education, or potential violence that goes on and other stuff... Kids been going to STA... It is what it is... With all them kids going over there they still can be beat...

I know ....I don't even know when that game was but it was just some random match up I spit out I would have like to have seen over the last few years but has not happened . The point is sometimes things just don't happen and no perhaps one is running from anyone perhaps both teams just enjoy paid vacations out of state versus appealing to the FL fans. There are lots of other elements in scheduling (especially now with the new system) other then making fans happy.
There are just some matchups that don't happen. DFB and AHP usually play a solid non-district schedule travelling out of county and out out state. Not sure if and when those two Broward powers have ever met.
The only SFL power that I question is Dwyer who to my knowledge in history of the program (nearly 30 years) have never played versus Broward or Dade in regular season

Yeah...How does that work?
Central was a better team then STA last year. Central appears to have added possibly bigger names in talent then STA this off-season while STA is coming off one of the worst teams in a while and currently does not appear close to the roster strength of pre-2017 (2016,2015,2014) yet STA is 110% deliberately scheduling Central when "they are down. "
If anything one could argue it was the other way around. STA is the one that is less of their usual team, super power state of late. But let's just put STA at fault because there is a opportunity to put blame on them. Just because ....
Unreal....I tell you even when STA does not even get to states, the witch hunt does not let up.
You know what is really interesting . Miami Central has not played AHP since 2008 . Since AHP has become a national power, Central has been dodging them.
