My guess is Columbia goes 5-5, but makes the playoffs as district champion in a weak district. Buchholz, Deland, Trinity Christian (Jax), Bolles, and Vero Beach will all be losses, potentially Madison County as well if MC can get back to their winning ways. I don't think Columbia has the offense to be consistent enough to do much. New and inexperienced QB, new an inexperienced OL, no RB. Defense will be fine, but no studs like the kid that went to UF.

Many people feel that without a "school" in the town, that the town fades away or that a school brings the town together in a community pride that few other civic institutions can. For Levy County, Williston just built a new school within the last 5 years and Bronson had a new school built in the mid 2000s.

School districts will develop a form to obtain parental consent along with any required documentation, as appropriate." Is the actual phrasing from the Florida Board of Education, so just asking a parent in a text message most likely doesn't count. Calling a student Tommy instead of their legal name of Thomas, violates this law if the parents have not filled out the required form. So yes, an earned nickname would still be in violation of this. It is the result of the unintended (but totally forseeable) consequences of this educational rule passed by the Florida Board of Education.

Maybe 2026/2027, USF could host with their future 35K stadium. Or FAU with its 30K stadium Or FIU with its 20K stadium Or Explorica Stadium (Orlando City Soccer) with its 25K stadium Am I imagining that at some point within the last 20 years the NCAA forbade Colleges from being allowed to host such events on their home campuses?

I will never understand the IMG school model as a whole in terms of how they make any real money. The boarding school is 89,900 a year! How many parents/community members can afford that type of tuition. Is there really that much of a gap in terms of coaching/sport education from a school like Bolles/STA and IMG. I just don't see it. For every other sport, I just don't see the economic justification whether those kids turn pro or earn a scholarship, they have to know the odds of that investment being worth it. If you are a non 4* or 5* kid, is paying 90K each year going to get you your money back in the long run. I just don't see it. As a coach, why are you taking that job. It isn't a college job where you get paid well or a high school job where you can actually be part of a community or mold young men. These young men are mercenaries.

Was he at Deland back in the day as well, or am I imagining that?

Honestly thought you were talking about Cardinal Newman/Gulliver Prep/Western High transfer Davi Belfort (will be on his 3rd school next year). Graduating in 3 years instead of 4.

Will note that for next year, but I think it is an even spread of those things. Lots of dominoes falling (School A loses coach to a job someplace else (out of state or Florida), which hires coach at School B, and school B hires head coach at School C and this continues. Some of the stuff was due to internal reasons that we may never know (a mix of C and D).
