How are kids who attend the alternative school able to play football. Wouldn't they be ineligible for having to attend the alternative school?

I wasn't for sure on the school big blue that's why I put the ?? You seem to know, how many transfers did Pahokee have on the team this year?

I was told Pahokee had 3 transfers from (Palm Beach Gardens?)and none were eligible. One was grades, one was too old and the one that is being reported. If that is the case I don't believe the clerical error thing. Now all of this could be here say but thats the story going around.

Columbia you always step in it. You said your stadium is the biggest around. Look who you are comparing yourself too, A bunch of schools like Ft white, Madison, Lafayette, Branford. What do all those have in common? They have about 1/3 to 1/4 the students of Columbia. So what that you have a bigger stadium than those folks. It pathetic that you compare yourself to them. Columbia isn't even on the radar compared to the top schools in Texas. Be proud that you guys make the playoffs and are relevant in your area. As for calling out people state wide or especially nationally get a grip and don't embarrass yourself. Actually win something before you start doing that.

You can be sure Shark that some of these schools with 597 or whatever may have had a say in just where the number landed. Lol

That is the what society is turning into today. He probably wants a participation trophy because he thinks they tried real hard. What he does is give the entire fan base a black eye and it looks bad. Baker got beat, plain and simple. If they played 10 times Pahokee probably wins 9. He needs to learn that Baker lost, time to get better not complain.

Josh if these complaints were just from this year I might agree with you but this has been echoed year after year. They stick their head in the sand and do nothing. They basically revamped the entire system because a bunch of small private schools weren't happy. Do you know how long it took public schools to get the Rural division??? Years and years of complaining and finally they do something. But in 1 year of a bunch of new private schools that may not even be around in 10 years all go independent the FHSAA revamps the entire playoff system lure them back in the fold.

You can defend the FHSAA all you want Josh but the fact is the whole urban and rural tag is just so it's not called public and private. You just acknowledged that teams "stack" their rosters, or in other words recruit. So instead of dealing with that which would fix most of the problems with all of the teams being independent, they completely revamp the entire playoff system. How about just enforce the rules that were already in place. We all know that will never happen because there is ZERO transparency with the FHSAA. They set standards then change with no reason or protocol whatsoever. When the whole rural class was talked about they discussed a class with 32 teams and they said they would NEVER allow a class under that(32) so that's how the 600 limit came about to have enough teams. What happens 2 years later, 2A and 3A are operating under 32 teams. They could very easily say 1A is the lowest 36 teams in school population, then you wouldn't have schools manipulating enrollment numbers to get under a certain number. I could go on and on about the incompetence of that organization but that's enough for now. You let me know where I'm wrong Josh.

That's not how it works Ft White fan. You guys had over 600 last count 2 years ago. I'm assuming the number has gone up since then. You guys appealed to be in 1A last cycle and they allowed it. I guess maybe this time you guys were to far to let it slide.

Trenton moved the ball up and down the field on Pahokee(400 yards) but couldn't hold on to the ball, 5 fumbles lost. I was really shocked Madison couldn't move the ball against Pahokee. As for the running a player on the field, it is a rule that any player that comes in the game must come inside the numbers before the ball is snapped or he is ineligible. Madison ran the same play vs Trenton last year and it was flagged as soon as the ball was snapped. Madison argued he came inside the numbers but obviously the ref didn't see it that way.

Yeah if Baker wins I would be wrong. Lol. No big deal I would say congrats to Baker, you got it done!!

Pahokee will probably have way to many athletes for Baker. Congrats to Baker for finally breaking through to the ship but I'm afraid it will be a long ride home to the panhandle. Pahokee 38 Baker 13

Alot of crying and whining coming from Madison. I didn't see the game but sometimes it's good just to tip your cap to the other team and say good job. Pahokee had by far the toughest road to the finals with Newberry, Trenton and Madison in 3 weeks. I'm sure having zero travel benefitted them greatly but they got the job done. I know Madison is a proud program and you should be passionate about your team but sometimes the other team is better. Anyway Pahokee will probably have their easiest game in the finals vs Baker. Congrats to all the teams who made it far enough to still be arguing about football, better than being over weeks ago.

Ain't no sour grapes here. Trenton couldn't stop Pahokee but I believe Trenton only punted 2 times all game long. Those stats are straight off the stat sheet from the game. Trenton fumbled inside the Pahokee 20 twice after driving the field. Bottom line is Pahokee is not a physical football team. With that being said they compromise by being athletic enough to overcome that, which is a mark of a good team. Mask your flaws as best you can. Should be a great match up between two good football teams I just wish it were close enough to go see. Good luck to both teams.

Pahokee was the better team and won the game, but Trenton had just shy of 400 total yards with over 300 rushing. Without 5 turnovers it may very well be Trenton hosting Madison this week. Pahokee will be hard to stop on offense but their defense is nothing special at all.

The kid at Newberry is good, but he is no game breaker. I can tell you now if Trentons' fullback(Jackson) or QB hit some of the holes Newberry ran through it will be six points not 20 yards. Trentons' skill people are way faster than Newberry. All that being said Pahokee should have the advantage playing at home. If Pahokee has to drive the ball and can't big play Trenton I see Trenton winning. If they can throw it over the top advantage Pahokee. Should be a good one either way.

Newberry thought they had stopped Pahokee on 4th and goal from the 1 in overtime and began celebrating only to have it ruled a TD. Pahokee made the extra point and it was ballgame. 35-34 Two really good teams going at it.

I would guess Newberry probably averages about 265-270 across the OL. They have 2 kids over 300 probably the smallest lineman is 220 or so. Top it off with they are handing it to a 225lb kid. Should be a good game.

Ft White rolls!!! They are in the unfortunate spot of drawing Madison in the 2nd round. They are probably one of the better 1A teams in the state but will probably be a 2nd round loser.

Northside was #2 in 2A and I would have thought could have put up a better fight. I know they played without their QB and maybe that helps them some but he doesn't play defense. Trenton rushed for 400 yards and the starting offense was on the bench when they went up 41-20 with 2 min left in the 3rd. I don't think they had any idea the physical nature of which Trenton plays, and they did not like it. Trenton should get by Frostproof then it gets real with either Pahokee or a rematch with Newberry. Best time of the year folks!!

Not to bang on Vanguard after a loss but I said this in the other thread addressing them. They haven't beaten anybody significant in several years despite pretty good records. I'm afraid anytime they play a team with close to equal talent they will get beat on coaching. That means you can get a round or two in the playoffs then that's about it.
