If a family lived in a RV as their only form of housing, what school boundary would they be part of? Would it be wherever they first set up shop at? RV parks don’t require long term leases. Hell they have daily rates. So if someone moved from out of state, what address do they put on their new license, and what the hell school do their kids go to? Lol.

According to someone who knows more about the system than I do, the school they would attend would depend on how they were classified. If the RV site address was used, they would normally attend the school/(s) within the RV camp boundary. However, if classified as homeless, under OCPS rules they could attend the school of their choice within Orange County.

Note that Orange County rules may vary from the rules of other school boards within the state of Florida.

Have faith, these FHSAA folks aren't blind and hopefully will do the right thing.

Hope you are right. Somehow, I feel they may just be the creatures referred to in a children's nursery rhyme:" ... see how they run."

I hope I am just being cynical and that you will end up being right.

Why should they beat up on each other. Now I'll admit enrollment isn't a factor because you can have 1100 students vs a 2500 student school and you can literally beat the breaks off of them with 1100 hundred students. I think private schools should have their own classification and to everyone else like Central and Northern Florida schools well I don't have an answer. South Florida schools are just built different well except for Venice and IMG Academy.

Before there were rampant transfers, that's not totally true. Yes, the MNW, CC and SR had their fair share of titles. But with the talent spread among more schools the Jacksons, NMBs, MS, CG, etc., etc. used to have decent teams (in the case of Jackson very good teams) too. What we have in large metro areas now, and I won't limit it to south Florida, as it includes Tampa Bay, Greater Orlando, Jacksonville area, etc., are stacked teams where 5 to 6 schools have 90+% of the elite talent and many of the others have a hard time winning a few games each season.

It goes without saying that this is not a model for the health of the sport at the high school level. It needs to be addressed one way or another or there will likely be mass exodus from the FHSAA tournament in the not too distant future.

    I won't hold my breath.

Privates advantages over publics have been my beef for years.  But as everyone seems to agree the real problem is transfers.  Don't know this to be a fact, but I did hear the announcers claim in our game this happened in reverse.  Apparently, WB gain came at the expense of Cardinal Gibbons demise.  Could that be true??

CG no longer handing out the scholarships they used to. Kids left likely because of that.

There is certainly a side of me that would not have wanted to see either Lakeland or STA win a blowout game like the one last night.   Then, again, there's also a side of me that may have secretly enjoyed seeing either Lakeland or STA lose  a blowout game like the one last night.   B)

    I feel exactly the same.

If West Boca can throw the ball effectively, they have a good shot. Trying to run against Osceola is very daunting. There two losses and one of their closer victories were to teams with very good quarterbacks.

That was it right there. Very difficult to run against Osceola, difficult but not very difficult to pick up big chunks of yards passing against them. The difference in the game was that the Kowboys have almost no passing game while WB, though they prefer to run the ball is capable of throwing the deep ball effectively. That and the fact that WB's front 7 are really, really hard to run on.

Bulls defense has been superb……But so has The Kowboys. West Boca has to be disciplined to stop the Osceola run game. Bulls will have to pass to win. Their special teams are at best mediocre. Like Darter alluded to, one mistake & their (Osceola)RB can take it to the house. Bulls need a full game of Mallory, the talented RB, but don’t think they get it.
I have Kowboys -1.5 favorite (but also had Aquinas a -4.5 favorite). Hope it’s a great game.

If West Boca can throw the ball effectively, they have a good shot. Trying to run against Osceola is very daunting. There two losses and one of their closer victories were to teams with very good quarterbacks. I could see a big battle in the trenches as the most likely scenario. If that's what happens, I just feel one of Osceola's two running backs breaks one big run too many and secures the win in a close, low scoring, game.

Yea sir. If the WB/Osceola game is 39 points or below you win it all! If it’s 40 or more then it comes down to Venice/Lake Mary!

You know, I almost picked Venice as it would have been the easy pick and I was pretty sure STA was going to win based on how bad Lakeland had played in the regional finals and state semifinal.

But I went with my heart which says Lake Mary, a team with few recruits, which faces Venice, a team with multiple recruits from Charlotte County all the way up to the Tampa Bay area.  I guess I just saw this in religious terms with Lake Mary representing good, in this case, and Venice evil.

If you end up winning, it's because my decision was, to a degree, based on righteous indignation as much as cold, hard analysis. With that said, Lake Mary does have a better chance than most think, as I think their strengths playout well against Venice's strengths. We will see tomorrow shortly after high noon, if you win the tie breaker today.

With Lakeland's loss, if Lake Mary wins, it's over! If Lake Mary loses, then the dreaded tie breaker kicks in the Osceola vs West Boca game. So, depending on the score in the first game today, the championship may be determined today at around 3 to 3:30 pm.

Why is no one discussing the five turnovers that CCC had, and the six times that CCC had the ball in Chaminade Madonna territory and only came away with one score? CCC had plenty of chances to make that game competitive, and didn't take advantage.

This is the first post you have ever made that I agree with. Hell will likely freeze over tonight.

The CCC-Berkeley game was 21-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter and CCC added a TD in the 4th quarter to make it a 28-14 final.   I'm not sure I would consider that getting 'boat raced.'

That said, it is pretty surprising how many kids from the Lakewood area turn out the be Catholic and end up at CCC.  B)

NO doubt they saw the light in their teenage years!

Darter, I did get the opportunity to watch the Madison County vs Hawthorne championship game on the NFHS network and the quality of the video, audio, sports reporters, etc.. was fantastic.  It is a different venue but my guess it will be high quality.

I will watch the CCC vs Chaminade game this evening and see what that looks like. If good, then my decision is to stay put. If poor, I may make Thursday evening through Saturday. I may try and catch the early Thursday game, too, but since I would be leaving that morning, not sure if I will make it in time.

Because I’m a nutcase I just purchased tickets to all 7 games.  For the last 15 plus years my group of high school football buddies have had at least one of us attend the state finals.  Individuals lived in Ft Myers,Tampa, Leesburg, Lakeland , Clearwater, Daytona Beach, Lake Mary and Apopka.  At the peak my group had 10 people.  Orlando were the glory years because most of the group is cheap and could drive home at night.  For a few years the FHSAA provided our group with tournament passes(those were the days).

@MarkECannon, there's still a shot I may make it down for Thursday through Saturday. At least in Dade, I don't incur hotel costs as I can stay by my sister in North Miami. For me, this year it's more a matter of time. But some of the games do look like they should be competitive and since its that national high school site that is streaming them live, the quality will likely be poor.

We are only using the WB/Osceola game as the tiebreaker. I picked 40 and you picked 35. So basically 40 and above I win the tiebreaker, and 39 and below you win

Never mind, I misinterpreted what you posted. WB/Osceola works as you have it above then.
