Vero Beach will win this game comfortably. It will probably be close for the better part of a half, then Vero will pull away. From what I have seen of VB on film, you have too many weapons for Olympia. I see VB winning by around 4 scores and getting to the second round easily.
Joe Milton, Olympia's QB may end up being special. But as BadBird said, his time has not come yet and he does not have the supporting cast.

Ok this is getting out of hand
Everyone has a right to a opinion but there no reason that it can't be civil and arguments should be "sports related"
Cool it down or i will lock it down
That's it sheriff! Got to maintain control before these adults get out of hand!

I know it's slightly off topic but did anyone watch Ric Flair 30 for 30 last night?
I will add one word of advice: don't follow in Ric Flair's footsteps. For all the fame and notoriety he garnered it's not worth it.
At the end of the day, Ric is a sad, lonely man. Not an example of emulation. When he passes, all I can say is may his soul RIP.

I will agree that there are many aspects of this new system that I personally don't like. West Orange got hurt by it, no doubt. And I can see where it does not look right that a team you beat head to head, even it was a close game, gets in and WO gets left on the outside looking in.
My own point of view is that the old system minus 3 and possibly 4 team districts was better. In the playoffs, they could have always mixed and matched the brackets to get varying match-ups among different teams each year.

People forget that even though wrestling is fake in a competitive stance, the physical and mental wear and tear is very real.
They are entertainers. No one watches a movie and says this stinks because it's not real.
Wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, John Cena, and The Rock are megastars.
They are so famous and liked in Hollywood that big time movie stars get excited to meet them.
Ric Flair and Charlie Sheen are my Hollywood heroes!!!!!
They are both a piece of work!! But entertaining, yes, I have to agree on that.

The former wrestler? No I did not. What's up with him?

I don't agree with that Vero Vs Deerfield game.....
Vero vs Miramar, then?

Overall, I don't like them. He does get some right, though.

I see some misses by Joe this week. More than normal.

This is my view as well.
Normally, both those teams should be getting to a Regional final. This year one exits after the first round. The irony is that both would be favored to make the 4A title or at least the semi final since they are in the same region as Cocoa.

Maybe they could learn something by eating a deer lol
Deer meat tasted surprisingly good. I had it for the first time a year and a half ago. Still a little skittish about eating it, though. I saw Bambi as a kid. Felt like a traitor!

Jones would have a great shot at winning 4A. probably the second best team if they were in 4A. bad move for them.
Yes, they would. But I think they moved up due to wanting to be in a district.
Jones's road in 5A is rough. However, I would not totally discount their chances. If they can beat Gibbons at home, I think they make at least the Regional Final. If they do that, then AHP stands in their way as Jones would be on the road for that game.

Yes.

Well the players choose to go there, no one forced them to become hired mercenaries for a all star team
If they want to experience it all they got to do is return to their orginal high school or maybe come to Columbia
Whichever works for them
So you want them to give up their mercenary status and contribute their services for free? How many you think gonna do that?

I do agree with you, I'm not sure why they took districts away in the lower half of classes. That would help. I feel like most of the controversy has come in 1A-4A.
If they had districts in the lower classes with just the District Champ guaranteed a birth, I have a hard time seeing how BTW would not have made the playoffs.
And while down a bit, at least you would not have the coronation of Cocoa before a single playoff game has been played.
There are times when a team is just so much better than all the other teams in the state they are going to win their state title. A few St. Thomas teams come to mind as well as the 2006/2007 Miami Northwestern team. However, the rules of engagement should not be such that a very good but not great team is set up to win a title which is what I think has happened in 4A.

If BTW doesn't like that they didn't make the playoffs then petition up to 5A for the next classification cycle. So you have a concrete district that you can play in. Otherwise, if you're going to continue to schedule a murderer's row of games, don't be surprised if you lose more than you win and you don't make the playoffs. They're way better than Edison and ISB this year, but those teams had ridiculous schedules this season and no one is saying they should make the playoffs just bc of that.
How about just re-instituting districts in the lower classes. Why should 5A to 8A play by a different set of rules? Jones moved up to 5A to avoid being avoided.
But in the long run this is not the solution as it just further waters down the lower classes. Cocoa now has a super easy path to a state title to the point where you have to ask whether it means anything.

I️ would just say this pertaining BTW.. Do they deserve to be in it yes. Why? Cause nobody else in 4a , maybe Edison played a schedule like BTW... Yes I understand BTW can bang with teams that in other higher districts and it showed when they lost to Central, Da West , Columbus by a combine 11 points but if other teams can basically schedule games and don’t have to play booker t to battle it out kinda sucks but it’s not does teams fault.. Don’t know if they did reach out to play or not.. Worss from the grapevine none of them didn’t want no part of BTW lol... But BTW still has to win some of those games.. To me the new playoffs was an success.. Need some tweaking or 2 but I vibe it tho... Let’s get the playoffs started...
Getting better teams in could have been accomplished by simpler means. I am not sure I agree the new system was a success. In 6A, 16 it worked. But you could easily have mixed up 6A 16 with 6A 15 and the same would have been accomplished. North Dade is not far from Broward County.

Viera wasn't screwed out of anything. Bottom line......a loss hurts. With this system you have to balance a challenging schedule with games you think you can win. Booker T Washington is the perfect example of that.
As i said, had East Lake not had to forfeit their early games, Lakeland would have got more points out of that win and the gap between Viera and Lakeland would have been larger.
There are tweaks that need to be made to this system, no doubt. And every team will have to adjust to those changes as they occur.
I think it makes him feel better to play victim. Hope those close to him are not influenced by this behavior. Perhaps, after a night's rest, he will reread his posts and realize the error of his ways ... or perhaps not ...

This is the second time you expected me to reschedule the game. Dumbbird from hence forth, sorry, I'm just a parent not a coach. If you are an Osceola coach, explain when the make-up was to take place, if not a coach, shut the hell up on the matter. It isn't like Viera is scared of playing Osceola, that is why they scheduled the game to begin with. They like challenging games to get ready for play-offs.
And just like two years ago, we will beat Plant and Lakeland back to back if we are good enough. Just this time Viera deserves that game to be played at Viera. The community deserves it.
You keep saying deserved, but you did not do what you needed to under the new system. You were not cheated and were not punished for playing Gonzaga. Your points for the Gonzaga game fell due to losses late in the season by that team. Now if you argue that the new system punishes you for factors outside your control, I may throw a little sympathy your way.
Bad Bird is a knowledgeable, former coach at many different schools. I don't remembering him denigrating you by calling you stupid in any of his posts. You are actually making yourself look like a whiner, if not stupid, by the nature of some of your posts.
My advice is, move on and encourage your son, if he plays for Viera, to enjoy the playoff experience. If you are unable to do that, I may revise my opinion and think you are a fool!

Would have been one of the better games this year in state. Teams match -up pretty good, again a plus for Viera being a home game for them.
Regarding the points and final seeding, every game played by every team you have played, not just the current week's game potentially affects your seeding. Not only that, but the same applies to all the teams in your region that have a shot at the playoffs. Assuming we keep this new system, I would recommend that anyone with an interest develop a spreadsheet that tracks not only your own team's fortunes, but all the teams in your region. That is the only way you are going to know from week to week where you stand and it serves as a great check against the authorities as errors are quite possible when you have a system as complex as this.
Olympia’s QB

Olympia is a middle of the road team and although they run a spread, they don't throw it around that much. This has probably affected Milton's production. He has a great chance to do well at the next level in Michigan's system. I wish him success.
