    No, I don't see Armwood beating STA. They tend to choke against SF teams at state. To be honest, I think Edgewater gives them a game next week.

    Seminole started fast and moved the ball downfield easily on its first possession. Then a forced fumble at around the Apopka 15 was taken back 69 yards to the Seminole 16. Two encroachments by Seminole and Apopka was first and goal at the 6. One play later it was Apopka 7-0. For the rest of the first half, Seminole had most of the possession. But interestingly it was Apopka that came closest to scoring again inside the final minute of the second quarter when Williams seemed to have the ball in the end zone, but after he rolled over on the diving catch, the ball ended on the turf. Apopka coughed up the ball on its next play and Seminole took a knee to end the half. Apopka took the Seminole kickoff down to the Seminole 26 to begin the second half and proceeded to score on the short field from there. Apopka's defense stiffened in the second half and (was it late in the third or at the beginning of the fourth, I don't remember?) stopped Seminole at its own 41 on fourth down. On the first play from there, the ball was inside the Seminole 25 and a few plays later it was Apopka 20 Seminole 0. To me this was probably Apopka's best game of the year as they were up against a very, very good QB and an athletic team that was every inch as good as APK in that regard. After Seminole had the better of the first half from a yards and time perspective, Apopka's defense stiffened in the second half and held them in check. If Apopka can maintain this level of play for two more games, they have a real shot at the 8A title. Notable was the fact that Apopka cut down on the penalties in this game. Also notable was the fact that Seminole actually was able to run the ball with some success against Apopka. This is the first team to do so since Jones did for one quarter.

    Hopefully, they made arrangements to use the field of one of local high schools for workout today. It certainly gives them a better chance of performing at their peak. When Edgewater played in Georgia, I believe they drove up that day, which was asking a lot given the game was in the metro Atlanta.

    At times, they have brought in temporary seating. Not sure what their expectations are for this one, though, as Niceville is coming from a long distance. Hopefully, your administration has had communication with Edgewater's admin.

    Not this year's Atlantic team and not Venice either unless they have made significant improvement in the past four weeks.

    I am not convinced that STA this year is better then they were last year. Very good, yes; great, I am not sure.

    I would not be. I think Northwestern is the best team in Dade. In fact, they may be the best in South Florida this year, even better than St. Thomas.

    The above was pretty dramatic. I don't think this year's Osceola has a Willie Green who was a very special player. But I do think this will be a very good game that could go either way. Winner has a decent chance of playing for the 8A title, too!

    Scores often don't tell the tale. For while it is obvious that both VB and DB are pretty strong teams that destroy average teams (Boca), what matters probably more are the match-ups. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each team? I have seen VB on film so I have a pretty good idea of VB's strengths and weaknesses. I have not seen DB either on film or live. I do know that they have their fair share of college talent, but I am unsure as to how they are as a team. VB has one big advantage: being at home. It probably will be a close game; but to be honest, I would not be surprised if one team pulls away and wins comfortably. I don't pretend to know which team will do so.

    Based on what you posted, overall, the RPI did a decent job of identifying the number 1 seeds. However, a number of 5 and 6 seeds seem to have been underrated by RPI. Equally interesting is that no 7 or 8 seed has made it this far if I am reading your post correctly.

    This is going to be a close game in my opinion. At this stage, Central comes in as the favorite. If Dillard wins this one, then I would favor them to win the state title. To win, they are going to have to minimize mistakes and take advantage of every opportunity Central provides.
