So as we all know, Venice travels to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow to play STA for the fifth straight year. Venice has wins over Lakeland, Raines, Riverview, Clearwater, all by three touchdowns or more, and they plowed through 2 of their district opponents. They lost to Heritage and Manatee, two teams Aquinas beat by double digits. I think STA will win this game by 10, but Venice may be able to give them a solid game or even win outright if they play perfectly. Thoughts? Would love to hear some of your guys opinions on this.

Venice has as good of a chance as anyone going up against a high-profile program.  The Indians must limit mistakes, execute the fundamentals and don't let the Raiders alter your game plan.  Dare I say, smash 'em in the mouth early and often to let them know you ain't scared.  Most teams lose against STA before they hit the field.

    Sincerely,

Nobody has taken a stab at #9.  If you have been paying attention to this and other posts, you can a eliminate a lot of the teams on the list who DID have at least one undefeated season.

Teacher, that sounds like college.  You are responsible for what you did or did not cover in your syllabus.

#6 I'll give you credit, but somebody on the list went 15-0 earlier the same day.  Who?  And someone NOT on the list went 15-0 the day before both of them(the first team ever to go 15-0).  Who?

#7 Godby is correct.  Godby beat Carol City in the 1976 4A final(the biggest class at that time) to cap an undefeated 14-0 season.

You really making me work for #6, :D.  I have no idea of the game days and times.  Bolles and Southeast

The 25 teams below have all won 3 or more FHSAA state titles.  Take a stab at any of the questions you wish.

    1. Who are the only two teams on the list to complete more than 5 undefeated FHSAA seasons?

    2. Who is the only team on the list to complete more than 5 undefeated seasons since 1995?

    3. Which 3 teams on the list have completed 3 undefeated seasons in a single decade(ie 2000-2009)?

    4. Who is the only team on the list to complete 3 undefeated seasons in a row?

    5. Which team on the list was the last one to complete back-to-back undefeated seasons?

    6. Of the teams on the list, which one was the first to complete a perfect 15-0 season?

    7. Of the teams on the list, which one was the first to complete a perfect 14-0 season?

    8. Of the teams on the list, which one was the first to complete an undefeated season in the FHSAA?

    9. Which two teams on the list have never completed an undefeated FHSAA season?

Note: Undefeated seasons include playoffs, not just regular seasons

Only once in the history of FHSAA football have 5, playoff-eligible football teams finished the playoffs undefeated in the same year.

What year was it and who were those great teams?

In possibly the second best year ever, 4, playoff eligible teams finished the playoffs undefeated in the same year.

Do you see a trend, yet?  Look at all of these Central FL teams on the list.  Here is another one from Polk County.  At #5 is Lake Wales, with 31 playoff wins.  LW made the state finals back in 93 and 94, but have not been back since.  They have been a relatively consistent program since the mid 90's, and have made 3 state semis (2001, 2009, 2013), losing all 3 at home.

Hopefully the Braves will make a game of it and lead Polk to another title appearance.  If you wanna see a sad trend, look at the oldest school in Polk to have never...  That's all I'll say.

Why does this team never get any respect? With the current staff, they have played in two State Championships, won 9 straight District Titles and a bunch of play off games. I understand they have not won a State Championship, but a team that is in the middle of it every year and nobody talks about them. Play off records......3-0 against Lakeland, 2-1 against DP, 1-0 against Vero. I just wonder???? Are they really not that good? Is there coach a D*#K and nobody like them. I'm a big Kowboy fan and just wonder why when the media hits Central Florida you never hear Osceola mentioned. By the way they are playing for a Regional Championship on Friday which will be the current staff's 5th in 11 years. Not to shabby.

I'll just echo what others have said.  It's no one on this board.  Now the mass media out of major metros is an entirely different subject altogether.

The Bloodhounds are a bit unsettled at QB, so Lake Gibson's stout defense was too much. Assuming Lake Gibson is able to play Lakeland next week (a big assumption with Covid), LG might ought to be a slight favorite. Lakeland has been completely shut down since Sep. 8, and won't be able to do anything until Tuesday of game week.

Thanks for that update.  Hoping the game happens win or lose.

With only about 40 seconds left, Lakeland scored the go-ahead TD against their opponent and all but had the game sealed.  But their opponent shocked the Naughts by marching down the field on 5 straight passing plays and tied the game in the closing seconds, sending the game into OT.  An unsportsmanlike penalty on the tying extra point cost the Naughts dearly and they ultimately lost the game.  The Naughts had come into this game having won over 25 straight games.

Who was the team who beat them that memorable night?

Wouldn't it have been same victory Christian out of Polk county who went to state last year?

No.  Victory Christian (Lakeland) played their 1st season in 2006 and were state runner-ups.  Most of the players that made up that roster came from the now defunct Evangel Christian squad that won a title in 2005.
