  1. Your bar has to be low to be a Wildcat!
  2. Griffin, GA is just south of Atlanta. They're far enough away from the metro to be considered country but close enough to reach all the big city amenities, LOL. Average team for most part. Griffin was able to score more points this season than last. That may not be a good thing for Lowndes. LG historically finds ways to win on the road. This game may define the rest of the season for the Braves. If they don't win on Friday, they're really going to catch hell in Polk County.
  3. IMG was actually the vic(tim, tor) looking to play a game and continue to increase their exposure. That lopsided affair could have involved any number of highly talented programs across the nation and the outcome could've potentially been just as ugly. BS (Bishop Sycamore, not the other BS although it applies) self proclamation of personnel for the sake of boosting their own reputation should have been caught. Again, where were the checks and balances? Has anyone on this board been able to tell an institution of higher learning that you achieved a certain scores on the SAT, ACT and give them your GPA and actually have those institutions take you at your word to gain admission? Hell No! All that stuff has to be verified from trusted verifiable sources. Enter ESPN and Paragon. They are both guilty of lack of due diligence in a rush to get ratings while overlooking obvious red flags caused this debacle. I'll end with Awful Announcing. As I skimmed the article operating on just an hour of sleep, I initially thought Awful Announcing was a reference to awful game announcing, not the actual name of the company. I laughed my ass off. I'm still laughing..... All this could've been avoided with a quick google search.
  4. Oh, my ultimate surprise of the week goes to Madco. If a few missing players means you can't score and stop the opponent from scoring, they don't need to play up in class.
  5. Definitely LG. I wouldn't have guessed that outcome in a million years especially with all the chatter about which team will run the city of Lakeland. Maybe that the shot in the arm the Braves need. Better to lose early than late.
  6. Dillard lost on his planet, LOL!
  7. Did Dillard lose on Earth-3?
  8. That remains to be seen but I like what I've heard so far.
  9. Congrats on the win!
  10. I will be attending Sofa vs Bed. Bed naturally has a sizable advantage but beware. Sofa could sneak up and pull an upset.
  11. Diversionary tactic. We won't appeal to your ears but you can watch instead, LOL! If you don't play an instrument or at the very least twirl a baton, stay your ass off the field! That's for you @Dan in Daytona
  12. You're about to start a fight, LOL! Don't talk about the bands!
  13. This has already happened my friend. Only going to get worse.
  14. Don't start Dan, LOL!!!
  15. What the hell y'all know about Coleman?
  16. I fully expect a winning season with that schedule. The Polk schools are struggling minus 1st year Davenport and that depends on what they were able to get from Ridge, LOL.
  17. The same thing is going on with Duval. The bigger question is can public/private co-exist an be somewhat equally productive in title count?
  18. I'll give you 2018. Arguably, that was Lakeland's weakest schedule by far.
  19. Lakeland is the largest (and densest) city in Polk County. The next largest city is Winter Haven which is less than half Lakeland's size. Also, the Lakeland area (suburbs) is around 300K. Naturally, that leaves the remaining 424K for the rest of Polk County which is spread out amongst smaller cities, suburban neighborhoods and unincorporated areas due to sprawl. When it comes to talent, a lot of people underestimate how much talent there is in Polk County. No one talks about or remembers all the years Lakeland dominated cross-town rival Kathleen and during the Red Devils worst years, they routinely had more D1 talent and produced more NFL players than Lakeland. I digress. Of the schools playing football in Lakeland, 3 have made a trip to title games within the last 16 years (4 if you count defunct Evangel).
  20. Aw Hell! FLAG ON THE PLAY!!!! Let's discuss why people tend to think Lakeland's schedule are weak. Using what you stated as a starting point, I will illustrate that most teams wouldn't make it through unscathed if they played Lakeland's schedule. I'll even include the 2008 schedule, the year STA exorcised those demons on Lakeland's ass.
  21. Defensive coordinator Kyle Worden will be the interim head coach while Lake Gibson conducts its search. Hopefully this doesn't tip the scales of balance in the city and hopefully the LG kids stay in place. However, going into the summer without an HBC is not a good situation for LG to be in.
  22. I fully expect GJ to provide an attractive coaching incentive to cultivate and grow that program. Who would pass up the opportunity to play at one of the newer schools in Lakeland with a nice address in a nice neighborhood? LOL. Poor Tenoroc out in no man's land. They don't have a shot in hell, even with all the planned development in the works.
  23. Good for the Canes. I'm glad they pulled from within. We'll see if this yields positive gains long-term.
