By that logic shouldn't that apply to IMG who were given passes when they lost in preseason games before?
Why is IMG (who is the very definition of a national team) not mentioned as a team that drops for actually losing a koc but Central should drop for a close win
When IMG lost, what nationally ranked opponent did they lose to?
Who is this unranked Vanguard team that hung around with nationally ranked MC?That will be the logic used to justify any movement.

Bartow up to their old senanigans again. They do that once every decade when they have a pretty good team
Fights, alumni refs, drunk fans cussing and trying to intimidate opposing fans.
Let's see what happens when they have to play on the road.
Soooo what you're saying is that good 'ole Yellow Jacket tradition is shining through!

Wouldn't that be a bit hypocritical since when IMG got BLOWN OUT in a preseason game a few years ago every major ranking service refused to drop them a single spot
Miami Central still won so why would Central drop but IMG got a free pass on a LOSS
1 hour ago, SportsFan said:Like why are things so inconsistent when it comes to evaluating preseason games where certain teams can get pushed up and celebrated for it but others only get talked about when it's an chance to drag a team down and when they win it's "just a preseason"
Like what's the deal with the inconsistency and not having a set standard across the board?
The amount of trash "305" nation and coat riders have been talking regarding the world-beaters aka MC has a lot to do with it.
- Is it fair? No
- Is it right? No
- Is it life? YEAH
Also, highly rated teams are under a microscope. Everything they do (or not) will be judged and scrutinized. That comes with the territory. From a "National" perspective, this game should not have been this close.
Looks at some of today's headlines and read the articles:

Anybody what happened? I read on Facebook that the game was called at halftime due to a fight.

Where did you get Hardee County having a population of 37000? The 2020 census says we lost population from 2010 and are around 25000. I disagree with the accuracy of the census and think the actual population is probably around 30000. I find it interesting that we've always have a slightly smaller population than Desoto but we seem to always have more kids enrolled in our schools.
Maybe Hardee has a younger demographic than DeSoto.

Lakeland by 7. This is Armwood’s best team in a while. Very strong secondary and I think they return their entire offensive line. I still like Lakeland at home, though. Lakeland should feel confident going into the regular season with a victory here.
Same agreement as last season right!?

Congrats!!! Now the real season begins! Good luck!

Hell of a way to start the season right?

The rain should clear the area by kickoff time. Hoping for an injury free contest and tune up game for both programs as the season gets underway. You already know who I'm rooting for. Who ya got!?

I was talking about Miami Columbus. Lakewood will be down this year. Like last year, CAI is among the top 10-12 teams in the state. I'm not sure *any* Florida team blows them out this season.
Sorry about that. I was fixated on Homestead, smh.

What I'm about to say is certain to upset some people. I do not mean any harm. But, if need be, brace yourself:
Homestead just won a game over a team which is better than any they'll play in the regular season, and which a maximum of one (1) team they'll play ALL season and playoffs is better than.
I know, I know. It hurts to read that. Fortunately, in a week your rebuttal team will get its shot. I guess you know my pick now.
I'm pretty sure Lakewood does not approve your message.
Regarding the "other" school located in Pinellas, we'll see how they fare this season. Do they have potential? YES! Does that translate to victories? Against the scrubs and some mid level programs, sure! Until further notice, they're all hype, no hit.

Both schools have generally been on the losing end of recruiting battles. This had to have been an ugly game to watch.

There's a certain school in Polk County that hasn't updated their roster on their own website since 2021. That same school used to offer (free) Youtube broadcasts that were generally quite good. It does seem like schools are just letting Maxpreps and NFHS do it all. It's a shame, given that those sites aren't all that great. Especially NFHS...
We both know the school.

Well, it's that time of the year again. Does anyone know if the auto-cameras are dramatically better for 2023? Because, if they are the same, all are advised to resist the temptation to spend (waste) however many dollars the monthly subscription costs. As discussed above, only the select few schools that have humans (even if they are high school kids) operating a camera can offer a product worth any amount of money.
On another yet loosely related note. Is it just me or did anyone else notice a DRASTIC reduction in schools that had dedicated football related resources (ie, schedules, streaming, historical data) around the time that maxpreps became more involved with the FSHAA? I know we lived through the COVID era but some of those started disappearing before that time period. I can't help but to wonder if that was part of the cost of doing business.

Keep it comin' man. I pull for everyone (305 included) as long as they aren't playing Lakeland or another Polk school, lol.

Since Nulli started this ball busting thread and others have nicely carried it onward, any word on two of my favorite keyboard nemesis : Bulldog '87, and Dummer or (another name) ? B'dog was a Deland High grad who's last post was a year or two ago, Drummer, an undersized New Jersey O-Lineman played for Bosco in the 1960's. He lived near Boca Raton in FLoor-a-duh. Haven't seen this elder gentleman post on any message board since Covid. Both had no problem raising my blood pressure. I wish death and destruction on no human being. But surely a little headache or inconvenience tossed upon this pair would have brightened any of my days.
I legitimately asked about the Tigers. As usual, leave it to a
Rabid Cat (aka @Dan in Daytona)
to get it wrong. That's ball-busting, lol.

To that, I agree. The unwritten rules should be universal across the board. Anything else is the textbook definition of a double standard, or if an agenda is involved, BIAS.
