Sorry to get off topic but damn that trainer is full of himself. I watched the video and about at 8:31 the trainer of Grubbs starts talking. He is dismissing high school coaches by telling college coaches to contact him directly. Crazy to think because all he can give is his evaluation of the kids athletic ability at 1 on 1 trainings. The high school coach can give the college coaches a lot more. The real coach can give transcripts, classroom behavior, practice habits, film study, community service, locker room behavior, weight room habits, etc... Most college coaches like to show up and see the athlete work out in the weight room with his teammates. Kansas State Hall of Fame Coach Dan Snyder once said, "the weight room is the heart beat of the team". They want to see if he can lead on the field, in the weight room and at off season workouts. The trainer is not able to give college coaches the most vital information needed for recruitment of a player. And trust me a high school coach has tons of contacts and a good rapport with college coaches as well.

So true and just know it's the same with all the QBs he's training especially the 26 class

I was at the slaughter on Friday in Ft Laud. I’ll help you all out here: 1) Gibbons is far from those State Championship teams. Their DL is not only small but far from athletic. They got beat up & pushed back to where the RB on half of the carries wasn’t touched for 8-10yds. 2) Grubbs almost looked sub par because he had no rhythm because they ran 80% of the time. He over threw receivers & missed his targets(downfield). In warmups he didn’t throw one errant pass. Talent. 3) Don’t get excited about the Rams D yet! Gibbons skill positions are the worst I can ever remember seeing. A good offense is gonna put up some #’s on the Ram’s D. 4) it’s really hard to determine how good or not, Lake Mary is. They just didn’t have enough resistance to prove anything.

The Lakeland and Seminole games will be the true tests for them

TFA almost crapped the bed. Good win far away from home. The hit on the punt returner was clean. I watched it a few times. TFA might make some noise come playoff time

That hit was most definitely clean. Watched it multiple times. The ref with the clearest view of the hit was the last one to throw their flag after seeing the other refs throw theirs.

Kinda feel like right now TFA reminds me of a central Florida version of JAX TCA

Lakeland @ Miami Central - granted Lakeland does have a extremely Good roster this year, but so does central and I can remember the last time Lakeland traveled down 95 south for a game vs elite south Florida opponent.

the naughts may keep it close for a quarter but if they get down 14 early in the 1st Qt They’re gonna get “BLLRDDDDD” out of the stadium by mid third Qt.

    I got the rockets 49-21

Miami Northwestern Vs Coconut creek - Cougars shocked the state last year when they took chaminade to the brink in the regular last season , and made it all the way to the regional finals for the first time in school history. This off season they got some more transfers in , beefed up the schedule & ready to get even further this year. But I say they fall to the bulls here in the season opener 35-14.

Miami Norland Vs Miramar - The patriots came back from being down 20-6 vs edision to win in overtime 34-28 , while the Vikings was ran out of traz power by 31 by armwood.

im going to be keeping a close eye on this game being that we(Dillard) play Miramar for the 6th straight year in week 5 & we can possibly face norland in the playoffs.

but in this game I can’t see norland dropping another game 1 week after that massacre. I got The Vikings.

    MIAMI NORLAND 35 MIRAMAR 14

MILTON VS AMERICAN HERITAGE - I was surprised the patriots gave up 26 points to a ely team I hear is down this year. Either ely is gonna b better then expected(throws up) or American heritage is not as good as their 20th nationally ranking.

either way Milton is stout all cross the board. Especially on defense , they beat a very very very good Baylor team in week 1 & if heritage don’t come up with something this week I see them dropping this game to Milton 28-14.

& with games @chaminade @naples @miami central @ Miami norland @STA & home vs western , this season can either go very magical or turn into a TOTAL disaster.

MONARCH VS PEACHTREE RIDGE - this is gonna be a monster game. Both teams are loaded cross the board. After seeing monarch up close in our scrimmage Vs them they are loaded & very good. This game can go either way, so I’m gonna say

    MONARCH 28 PEACHTREE RIDGE 21

BISHOP GORMAN VS ST THOMAS - A True Battle of heavy weights in this 1 , as much as I root for home team, I hope the gales tare STA A NEW 1 LMFAO LOL

BISHOP GORMAN 31 ST THOMAS 24

ST JOHN BOSCO VS CHAMINADE - Another Ali Vs Thomas the hit man hearns type matchup this one is a must see , if Dillard didn’t have a game that day I would’ve most definitely been to this 1. This is another 1 that can go either way. But until proven other wise I go to roll with

CHAMINADE 42 ST JOHN BOSCO 35

CARDINAL GIBBONS VS LAKE MARY -

As far as I know lake Mary has never been known as a football power. Girls basketball power back in the day ? Yea , but in football? I know they win a few games here & there but I haven’t seen them come down south and beat a south Florida power or heard of them doing it, so until then I have to roll with gibbons at home.

    GIBBONS 21 LAKE MARY 14

If there are any Rams fans that’s on here that could educate me a bit on the rams im always down to increase knowledge.

If Gibbons is lock down on the defensive backend then they should be able to slow Lake Mary, if not then Lake Mary may throw all over them being led by one of the best QBs in the nation for 2026 class

Miami Northwestern belongs ahead of Eau Gallie.

I'm going back and forth with this, but I think Berkeley should be ahead of Bishop Verot at this point. Close, though.

Otherwise, not a bad list at all.

I'd put northwestern 2nd, Raines 3rd, Eau Gallie 4th but this week will show more of them but right now they don't have an offensive identity.

I think this may be Venice's weakest team in many years. I'm aware of the outcome of last season's KOC with Venice and TBT (46-9 Venice win). Tech gets them this year.

I just watched their game against Gadsden County and I honestly feel like TBT will break it open on the early if Venice makes the same mistakes they did in the KOC. But I do see them closing the gap and possibly coming back if they can get things rolling offensively before half.

Chaminade is overrated this year. Teams are not mere sums of the number of "starred" players they have listed in 247Sports. Chaminade lost the entire heart of its offense from the last three years. Just because some kid announces on Twitter that he's transferring and 247 has some stars next to his name doesn't mean all things remain equal.

That could said about any south Florida power annually but this upcoming Friday will show where they are really at compared to last season

Would love to meet you if you're there. Cocoa averaged 35 points per game last year to Venice's 47. Cocoa's offense could be even better this year with the return of Brady Hart, Niko Teeter, Jayvan Boggs, Malachi Coney, and Dj Bryant.

Venice returns Ryan Matulevich, Malaki Corbett, Noah Chieffo, Jackson Scott, Dorien Jones, and Jamarice Wilder. We were very fortunate to have Winston Watkins, 4-star wide receiver from Naples FB, as well as Jayce Nixon transfer to us. Our offensive line should be strong with the return of 3-year starters Matthew Locicero and Anthony Tanaka as well as the transfer of Al Oliver from Riverview. The guard positions will be a work in progress as Roman Mock, Evan Spencer, Collin Carter, and Brock Hupp battle for starting positions.

Cocoa's wr group is stacked. DJ Bryant is now playing safety exclusively. The offensive line is the question mark with one returning starter but the line is definitely revamped with some big bodies that transferred in. Malachi Coney is the #2 back behind junior Latrison Lane who ran for a lil over 1k. Defense should be extremely solid again and rumblings that it could be even better but we will see how the front 7 compares to last season.

WR group returns the names you mentioned but also got the young guys that's coming up and a few transfers in Viera's #1 option Zack Pillow, Eau Gallie's #1 option D.L. Hardison who returns back to Cocoa after leaving his 8th grade year. And another athlete from Merritt Island in Chris Kelly who could also play RB or DB. Almost forgot 2027 athlete Tank White also transferred in and will more than likely play both wr and db as well. He's currently committed to Syracuse

If Apopka's youngsters mature quickly it could end up being a very good game. If they don't this is a relatively easy win for Cocoa. As the game approaches, if you decide to go, I will send you my personal info and we can meet up if you want.

I can see it being a great game especially with Apopka coming off a bye week and Cocoa will be coming off the Norland game. So Apopka will have an extra week to prepare for the Cocoa passing attack. The key will be slowing down 4 receivers that will be fresh throughout the game since they have about 8 or 9

VIF here. I've been taking time over the past few weeks to teach myself Hebrew (not nearly as tough to learn as some say it is,) in hope of visiting Israel when the war is over. Once you learn the alphabet, and how verbs behave, it's very straightforward, really.

We open the season at home with Tampa Bay Tech, who averaged 37 points per game last year and return two very good wide receivers in Dallas Wilson and Santoyo Isaac. Then it's on to home vs Miami Northwestern, who have made a complete 180-degree turn with the, "acquisition," of some 16 transfers as well as the hire of Teddy Bridgewater. They also return almost the entire core of players they had from 2023 season. On to back-to-back trips to Bishop Verot and Port Charlotte, a home game against Cocoa, a short trip to Lehigh, a brutal showdown against IMG National, at Riverview for the district crown, at Clearwater Central Catholic, and finally, a home game against Sarasota before a week 10 bye.

This will not be an easy season for us. Venice comes in as the prohibitive favorite in class 7A, but you can't take anything for granted. Least of all, with teams like Miami Columbus, Sanford Seminole, Lake Mary, Vero Beach, and Treasure Coast in the way. Glad football is finally back, though, and great to hear from everyone!

I more than likely will be at the Venice vs Cocoa game and catching the Cocoa game at IMG

KOC vs Tampa Bay Tech on 8/16 should give a very good indication of how the season will go. Edgewater on 9/20, it's been a while since we have beaten them. Cocoa on 10/10. Cocoa is always very, very good. It's important we that we be at least competitive against them if the Darters are to make a run. Osceola on 10/18. I attended a spring practice. They looked good. If they are healthy this should be a great game. Madison County on 10/25 at their place. Last time we played them, nearly 20 years ago, they kicked our (you know what) at their place. I have been waiting patiently for revenge for many seasons.

Also, if we get more than one and done in the playoffs, I am looking forward to rematches with both Seminole and Lake Mary the first teams to put running clocks on us last year in many many years.

I might go to the Cocoa @ APK game. I took that night off. Just gotta remember it's on a Thursday lol

In Pinellas County you absolutely have to keep an eye on Tarpon Springs.  The had a number of D1 recruits transfer to them when Clearwater Academy International closed shop.  That in turn attracted many more recruits from various teams in the area.  They will make some serious noise this fall.  I think they are also no longer independent so they can make the playoffs?

Yup looks like they are in 2A so the playoffs will definitely have them up against some tough competition

  13. On 6/26/2024 at 4:28 PM, Longtime Observer said:

Venice tends to do very well against teams that aren't absolutely loaded athletically. It's really just the elite teams (top 7-8) in the entire state that they have a tough time with, which is a testament to the quality of their staff. None of those teams you mention hit the absolute elite level athletically, though Seminole and Vero are often fairly athletic. There are simply no really scary teams for them, particularly if Columbus is rebuilding. If the RB Wilder was very motivated by wanting to win a state title, it does make sense he'd choose Venice's path over a path that almost certainly involves STA.

I agree completely with you. Those are just the only teams I can see making a game out of it. Seminole did get a good amount of transfers in as well

  14. 15 minutes ago, Longtime Observer said:

Their classification appears soft. Columbus is said to be in rebuilding mode. So, that means Lake Mary and Seminole (who share a district) may be the toughest roadblocks in the entire playoffs. Venice likely does not have to improve from 2023 to win 7A. They thought they'd take a step back in 2024, but if they don't, they're probably winning 7A.

They don't have many teams that will challenge them. But I see a handful including a dark horse. Vero, Seminole, Apopka, Lake Mary and if the stars align Spruce Creek.

There should be a 7 game Dade vs Broward showcase every year. Last year I would of set these matchups

    Miami Central vs Chaminade

    Norland  vs STA

    Columbus vs AHP

    Homestead vs Coconut Creek

    Booker T vs Western

    Palmetto vs Monarch

    Cardinal Gibbons vs South Dade

Could be possible if BCAA and GMAC works together. BCAA already got Broward schools playing each other on a set schedule. That's why the Cocoa/Chaminade got canceled since the AHP/Chaminade game got set for the same week

  16. 9 hours ago, Longtime Observer said:

It was definitely looking like a different story as of a couple of weeks ago.

With Wilder back, and the WR, mentioned above, Venice might be about as good as last year again. That'll probably be enough to win their classification.

Definitely looking like they have the pieces but it depends on their QB play and defense
