I will maintain an open mind on Heritage. Like you said they did not have a strong schedule. Because of that, I have a hard time figuring out in my head how good they really are.

The same applied to Lake Mary for those that had not seen them through about game 6 or 7. But being an Orlando area guy, and having seen them last year, knowing what they brought back, coupled with looking at their videos before going to see them live, I realized they were going to be an extremely tough out in the regular season and playoffs and had as good a chance as any to win a state title in 4M which does not have an Aquinas or Norland/Central/American Heritage or Chaminade or Cocoa standing in the way.

There's rumors swirling that there's a Lake Mary vs Cocoa matchup in the works for next season

Couple interesting matchups in the same region: Treasure Coast hosts Kiss Osceola (not what a #1 seed would want), & Vero travels to Palm Bay Heritage who have had a great season…….

Rematch of this past spring game where it was close. But Heritage revamped with tons of transfers and they built a great culture and are gelling. I see Heritage winning this one and going on a deep run

I'm not sure how this makes sense.  A kickoff is a live ball; either team can recover it (assuming it traveled the necessary 10 yards).  A punt, on the other hand, would be different.  And if it were a punt, there's no reason why anyone from the receiving team needs to be anywhere close to the ball once the decision has been made not to field the punt and try to return it.  I never understand why someone from the return team feels the need to get up close to the ball and watch it roll while there are several members of the kicking team around the ball.  Nothing good can happen for the return team.

Same thing happened in a college game where the gunners tried to snatch up the returner and force into the ball.

That’s exactly what these teams need to be doing. I like it. Create a league for other teams similar to FCS, Division 2, and Division 3 in college. Not classifications, but completely different leagues of teams.

I definitely agree with you on this. Isn't that what a couple other states do. Where they have classifications but each class is split into different divisions based on the success of the specific team or something?

Probably not a bad idea in the down cycle they are currently in.  They had been making some headway when Coach Rich Pringle was there before abandoning ship and returning to Lake Gibson.  And what does that say about Space Coast HS in Cocoa who got beat by Celebration.

Space Coast dropped out of Cocoa's district and is independent this season SSAC with Cocoa Beach

To take that a step further, looking at the FHSAA rankings (they haven't been updated yet today) we should have a running clock put on us by Mainland on Thursday night much less have any chance of winning.... #2 vs #302.   Let's see what surprises this season has yet to grace us with.  By the way, Nolebull813 has been correct in the two previous district games as a running clock was in effect during the first half in each.  Will have to wait on the outcome with TOHO till next weekend.

TOHO will definitely be a running clock

Kissimmee Osceola, when fully healthy, is *much* better than their current mark. They will win this district handily and cannot be counted out of the 4S hunt if they go into the playoffs with Melendez back.

They basically pulling a Treasure Coast from a couple seasons back. Or was that last season

If you look at the SOS for Titusville it's pretty bad

They may be improving but it's hard to not say they weren't exposed by Cocoa because they may have been undefeated but they were nowhere close to the level of someone like Cocoa despite a better record

Missed out on the biggest game in Brevard happening this season which would've been if Heritage played Cocoa. They would be the closest team to coming close to Cocoa's level on paper.

And good luck to the Noles... You know I'm a UF guy and this year I'm just watching the talent... So I'll be a Fan for FSU till they play UF even though I know JT and that O-line is going to put a hurt on us this year.

Well you have a reason to root for both. 2 Cocoa alumni on the roster for both UF and FSU. Richie Leonard starting OL and Jaden Edgecomb walk on receiver for UF. Caziah Holmes RB and Toney OL for FSU.

I'm glad to see other Brevard teams playing very good football against Cocoa. Eau Gallie, Titusville and hopefully Rockledge help each other prepare for the playoffs. Have to give a shout out to Heritage also... These schools have a chance to showcase Brevard.

Depends on what Rockledge shows up for the playoffs. If it was ever the year for Eau Gallie to win the district it would be this season. Heritage definitely has high expectations but the playoffs will definitely be where we see what they have. Merritt Island Nike space uniforms and helmets looked amazing last night. They could be a sleeper in the district even though they'll be third if they lose to Rockledge. Titusville will more than likely face Cocoa again in the playoffs in regional final at Cocoa

Shot in the dark- as I was not at the game, nor did I see any recaps as to how well they hung with Cocoa

Kept it close first half and had a great game plan to eat up the clock keeping Cocoa's offense off the field. 7-3 in the whole first half. Moment changed after Cocoa forced a fumble in the third. Reminded me of the Seminole game honestly. Titusville forced a fumble early and there were plenty of penalties on Cocoa that stalled drives or helped keep Titusville on the field. Was a good game and Titusville honestly impressed me.
