Sure BTW could have scheduled smarter. I get the point. However should we have a system where possibly the best team in the class misses the playoffs due to bad scheduling? I'm only using BTW because it is the best example. I honestly could care less if they win another title.
It's also possible that Booker T. Is just not the best team in the class this year.

HCs are part of a team, path to states and will ultimately have to take accountability for the own mistakes in some of these cases....
Exactly. A lot of them didn't analyze the system.

Viera is more explosive on offense and from what i can tell has a better and more complete defense
Bartram trail has gatewood who looks like a early FL Tebow and a solid passer in Riley Smith but can only play 1 qb at a time
Bartram trail a solid team but the people on national board labeling them a threat in 7a are trying to create more hype than is necessary
A team who has given up 51 and 61 points in elimination games past 2 years don't strike me as a team who is best in 7a north especially when they seem to be not too much better than last year team
Good team yes but cocoa a proven commodity, bartram trail has to prove it
Where is the national board?

and do you think many people will play them? 1-4A is not decided on the field. At least 5-8A you have a chance to decide it on the field and get in.
Yes I do. I think there are more schools out there that would say yes to BTW. Honeslty, I don't think many of the usual power schools took making their schedules serious. They sat back and said, we will see who reaches out to us. Whereas, you had those mid tier schools really dissected the point system and created a schedule to their favor. And its showing with the first 2 weeks of playoff releases. There are still 4 weeks to go, so I really think it will work itself out.

Booker T. made their schedule just like everyone else. They filled it with some good teams and failed to beat any of them so far. Win your next 3 and they will get in. Simple as that.

its hard to rank teams like Madison high up especially with so many south florida powers I could see beating them, part of me wants to bump Pahokee over Madison but while Madison is undefeated they deserve top spot in 1A
The next few weeks will be interesting. Especially for Pahokee.

Sooooooo is anyone gonna bring up the fact that BTW is probably not gonna make the playoffs?
I did on the Cocoa vs Mainland thread

There are 41 and 51 teams in Florida that are better than Madison County and Pahokee respectively. People really think that small on classifications.

Cocoa's head coach likes to run the ball. And they always have enough athletes to accomplish this. The problem as I see it (my opinion) is they still are pretty much one dimensional. And the QB running stud Judson is now in college. Athletic teams that stuff the box got a chance to disrupt what they do. How well they can pass when needed I don't know, didn't see it. Outside of their first play from scrimmage a 50 yd TD run they did very little in the 1st half against a Mainland defense missing three starters (#44, #7, and #4 who played some defense). Everybody knows 4A BTW has athletes. Who else in 4A I don't Know. I've seem all of Cocoa's championships. I thought they'd be better. (Judged ONLY off this one sighting, nothing more)
Yea 4A will pretty much come down to Cocoa and BTW once again. I think University will push BTW to the limit though. Next season, with amount of returning players and a year in Hester's system, Glades Central SHOULD be back in the running.

Does anyone know if they will be updating today?

"Cat, I'll agree as far as both defenses are concerned. But neither offense looked championship caliber. Mainland's current "O" is a basket case, with no remedy in sight...
What seems to be the problem with Cocoa's Offense? They got a few transfers in right? Maybe its a chemistry problem.

Due to IRMA I was able to travel around and see some teams I probably wouldn't normally see. Seen a few of the top teams in 1A and from what I have seen, there isn't a team that just looks dominate. Now I have not seen few down south teams or the far west panhandle teams yet. Just trying to see what you guys think.
So have you seen Madison County?

Gc Went To Oakleaf Won A Hard Fought Game 13-12. But here's the bad news Dwyer lost to Atlantic at home and was shut out after halftime. So Dwyer will be hungry coming to belle glade after a lost at home, glades central offense has to play better to beat Dwyer both teams coming in with 1st year QB's who tends to make a lot of mistakes so this one is a toss up.
But from what I seen Dwyer does has a nice size with their d-line which can cause trouble for glades central offensive line cause they are weak. But then again Dwyer secondary is suspect so if Gc o-line holds up and Gc gets passes off then things should be looking good for Gc cause they have the talent at Wr they just have to catch the ball.
Worst case scenario for Gc is they qb throws a lot of interceptions the line don't block and the defense gets tired after being on the field too long and gets wore out by Dwyer offense. Should be a good one in belle glade it's really a toss up, but I know most people are going to go with Dwyer to win this one so glades central got to come out clicking on offense to shock some people on Friday.
Let me know your predictions and thoughts on the game folks!
Pahokee offense didn't look good and struggled against Palm beach lakes in a 6-0 the first week of the season. If pahokee offense still struggles Friday then Atlantic will run away with this one, I seen Atlantic play Dwyer on tv on Friday and their defense is very fast and has great size so pahokee has to find a way to move the ball cause they are not just going to run down the field on Atlantic like they do teams in 1A football.
But if pahokee can get the running game going and get some receivers and the TE Morgan involved then they have a chance cause pahokee defensive line is big and impressive but pahokee secondary has to hold up cause Atlantic has some good wr's that can run past you and go up on you and they have good size. It's going to be a good one in Atlantic cause pahokee front seven is good, Atlantic is not just going to run all over pahokee.
Pahokee has to clean up mistakes and penalties from week 1 but since they had a bye week last week they should be prepared.
Also with Atlantic coming off a win at Dwyer which gave them confidence after a week 1 lost to Palm beach central both teams been talking smack to each other since the summer so it will be a hard hitting exciting game.
Let me know your thoughts on pahokee vs Atlantic folks!
The game is at Dwyer, not in Belle Glade.

49-0 Oxbridge 2nd Quarter

Like I've said before, GC's Achilles heal will be both lines. Those positions must improves quickly. Bad part is all of them are inexperienced. I saw Oakleaf's RB on film from Friday and GC better be ready for him. Hester won't be driven out of town. GC actually has a Principal now that sees the big picture.

Good job Pahokee. I'm sure Glades Central's record would have been similar to Pahokee's.

Pinkos had a decent week 1! Keeping up with him for week 2 and agree with most . I see a few Week 2 SFL games that I might lean a little different......
CLASS 8A
Belen Jesuit 11 over (4A) Gulliver Prep - I am leaning Belen closer to 18 here.
Coral Gables 18 over (4A) Edison - Could be more like 24+
Coral Park 21 over Hialeah Gardens - I think the underdog HG can hang within 14 here
Miami Beach 14 over Varela - I have Miami Beach blowing this one open by 21+
North Miami Beach 21 over Coral Reef - Could be closer to NMB by 28+
Plantation 6 over (7A) Ely - Lots of respect to a improved Plantation team, leaning Ely at Home in a close one though.
CLASS 7A
Doral Academy 35 over South Miami- 35 is fair but I think this could be a absolute 45pt massacre...
Mater Academy 21 over Reagan - Mater tightens up here and rolls by 28+
Nova 1 over (8A) South Plantation - South Plantation takes this one by 6+
Olympic Heights 12 over (8A) Spanish River - I smell a Olympic Heights blowout by 20+
West Broward 28 over (Ind.) Coral Glades - Could get real ugly WB by 35+
William T. Dwyer 3 over (8A) Atlantic (Delray Beach) - Atlantic gets back on track here and wins by double digits.CLASS 6A
Boynton Beach 7 over Boyd Anderson -Boynton by 14+ here
Northwestern 3 over (8A) Columbus - I don't see Columbus hanging within 10 of a top 5 team in FL. NW by 10+CLASS 5A
American Heritage (Plantation) 3 over Liberty NV - Appreciate any team coming to SFL but I see AHP by 10+.
Cardinal Gibbons 35 over (3A) American Heritage (Delray Beach) - This number is a little high to me. Gibbons by 24.
Coconut Creek 13 over (8A) Monarch - I think Monarch can keep this closer to 6 in a tight one
Hallandale 20 over (7A) Hollywood Hills - Hallandale by 28+
CLASS 4A
Glades Central 1 over (7A) Oakleaf - Expect Glades Central to rebound well as a 8+ road winner
North Broward Prep 8 over (3A) Benjamin - Wrong team favored here. I like Benjamin to pull off the road W.
CLASS 3A
Calvary Christian (Fort Lauderdale) 35 over (4A) Immaculata-LaSalle - I think LaSalle keeps this one closer to 24.
Oxbridge Academy 22 over (8A) Flanagan - This will be over by the early 3rd. The Ox in a blowout by31+
St. Andrew’s 10 over St. John Paul II Academy - St. Andrews impresses again by 17.
Westminster Christian 4 over (4A) Keys Gate Charter - Keys Gate wins a close one!CLASS 2A
Community School of Naples 6 over Glades Day - I like Glades Day to get the W at Home here.INDEPENDENT
Boca Raton Christian 1 over (4A) Somerset Academy - Leaning Somerset Academy here by 7+
International School of Broward 10 over Pembroke Pines Charter - Saw film on PPC - not good. ISB in a blowout 21+..
lol everyone been skipping over 1A football like it doesn't exist this season.

As long as they play remaining games and do well this 1 won't play too big a deal into it
Ok cool. I'm anxious to see how this system pans out. The beating a team and then cheering for them to win the rest of their games is so funny to me. LOL

Exactly. You can pretty much know who you are playing in the playoffs as soon as the districts are made.
