Vero should be very solid this year, the offense has more experience this season as they started several true freshman last year, the defense lost some talent so that will be the question mark heading into the offseason.
 
I see them being as good as the team that lost in the 3rd round, probably a little better to be honest. The hopes are high considering the talent that is coming back, and has already transferred in, do they have state championship level talent? No, but hopes are high. I do not see them starting 0-3 like least season though.
Vero QB Champ Monds went into those games last year as a true freshman who had never played a game at the high school level, now has a year under his belt, and holds 20+ offers as a rising sophomore. He has the potential to be one of the top QB’s in the country by the time he’s a senior, the question for Vero is can they keep him here. IMG has made a run at a lot of the higher profile talent in the treasure coast area the last several years. 

Although not much is known yet, apparently it’s the marquee game of the “Treasure Coast Kickoff Classic”- an event being put on by the Treasure Coast Sports Commission. Nothing else has been announced but I would expect Vero to play Friday night August 15, but as they have not made any schedule announcements yet this year, so their opponent is TBD. 

This is the first time Vero has ever hosted an event like this, as they’ve always played a traditional KOC game that week.

I haven’t seen anything about Vero’s schedule, they had 4 games scheduled in Brevard last season (Eau Gallie, Heritage, Rockledge, Palm Bay,) so if those were home/home, they would have those 4 at home this year. They are obviously playing Rockledge at home, and I could see them playing Eau Gallie and Heritage at home, but I doubt they’re playing Palm Bay again. 
 
Vero has been trying to bring in a South Florida power ( MNW in ‘23, Booker T last season,) a Central/North Florida power (Seminole in ‘23, Bucholz last year.) A game with Cocoa would certainly fit that pattern. I would love to see it, the ‘21 OT Cocoa win was fantastic.

Good news is John Carroll has not played anyone near Dillard this year, they are well coached, but you should have a significant advantage in talent and have played better competition. 

If the current rankings stay the same, this scenario will play out when #4 Vero Beach will host #5 Lake Nona despite both being district champions. 

He was, he had his non throwing shoulder iced for the entire 4th quarter, Vero is not playing this week or next, so he’ll have time to heal before they play Treasure Coast on 10/25. 

Vero is in rebuild mode this season after last years rather disappointing season, while they do have some D1 prospects sprinkled on both sides of the ball, they certainly don’t have them at the quantity needed to compete with teams at Venice’s level. They are probably a playoff team with a 2-3 round exit again. As others have mentioned, unless something happens internally, I just don’t see anyone out there to challenge Venice.  

Vero’s offense struggled the entire game, the lone score came on a scoop and score via a fumble. White showed the characteristics of a presumed first year starter. His ability is there no doubt, he’ll just need to settle into the starting role. 
 
West Boca was much more effective- leaning on their 4* running back Javian Mallory, can see them having another good year. They would have probably won the game had it gone a little longer.

I doubt they are, Vero just usually pony up’s the $$$ and hosts them, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 4 Brevard County schools are home/away though…
