Jags904 got a reaction from OldSchoolLion in Deerfield Beach in for 2 Big Fights
In 2014 when Buford played Trinity, they were less talented but about a million times better coached. That wasn’t the case this time. I think Deerfield was decently well coached but I was less impressed than usual with Buford’s coaching.

I see this obsession with “gain weight gain weight!” That’s a great way to lead a kid to his grave 20+ years early. If he doesn’t have the frame to be 6’2 260 and look decent, then he ain’t a D1 OL. Have him be 6’ 235 but in shape and as strong as possible. He will be able to give you a heck of a lot more.
The coaching difference between FL and GA is night and day and it’s directly correlated to the amount of money they make. I don’t see guys on the sideline in GA winning titles who run one coverage and have an offense with 2 plays but have the best athletes like I have down here. They have structured plans for the entire year and they leave no stone unturned to win.

Jags904 reacted to OldSchoolLion in Northwestern vs Columbus
Between 2004-2017, Northwestern and Catholic high school Columbus played each other 14 times. Northwestern won 11 of those games, and 6 of those 11 wins were by a TD or less. So, it has been a very competitive rivalry. Columbus beat Northwestern last night, which I am sure was sweet after losing so many close games to the Bulls.
The Explorers have made the Final 4 four times this decade and despite being one of the most consistent programs in south Florida, are often overshadowed by the other big powers in Dade. So, I thought we should give them some props today for their big win.

Well if they have talent and administrative support (which they have both of), then it can only be one thing holding them back...

You have too many North FL teams high in your rankings.
Bolles, Madison County, Godby, Spruce Creek, Buchholz, Mainland, Crestview, Deland, Raines, Lee, Flagler, Trinity, St Aug, and Columbia. I don’t think 14 of the 50 best programs are north of Orlando metro (15 if you include Ocala Vanguard).
We have maybe 7 of the 50 best, I’d take out Bolles, Madison County, Spruce Creek, Buchholz, Mainland, Flagler, and Raines. I think Bolles, Madison Co, Spruce Creek, and Raines are just outside that top 50. Mainland looks to be an average at best team this year. Buchholz hasn’t proven a dang thing yet. Flagler at 24? What have they done to deserve that ranking?
Godby looks good where they are and should battle Trinity for whose in the final 4. Crestview looks to be solid this year. St Aug graduated dang near their entire team and at 17? That’s way too high for me, I see them as a 30-40 team. Deland looks good with those transfers and some stability. Lee is tough as always. Columbia and Trinity look about right. That will be a great game this year.

8A Region 1 looks to be stronger than in recent past.
Mandarin, Sandalwood, Flagler, Deland, and Spruce Creek is shaping up to be a dog fight in D1. Mandarin’s new QB isn’t quite as good as the offers but he’s still one of the best in the state. Truly don’t know who will win this.
Sanford Seminole should run away with D2. They look good this year.
Boone vs Winter Park will decide D3.
Poor Evans. That’s an absolutely miserable district for them with West Orange, Wekiva, and Apopka. Excited to see Wekiva vs Apopka. I’ll get a look at Apopka tomorrow night against Bartram.
Barring anything crazy happening, we will see Wekiva vs Apopka twice. That’ll be two great games with two state champ caliber teams.

Oh absolutely. Ed White lost their coach and First Coast dropped off and all of sudden their studs are at Trinity and/or Lee. It’s the name of the game in the cities in FL.
My big issue with people calling out private schools is there are different kinds of private schools. Some of them allow just about anybody in and don’t even make them attend school there (they just do FLVS and show up at practice) whereas other privates have a strict admission policy, high tuition, and difficult school work.
The rural vs urban conversation is a good one certainly. It’s hard though because there are only a few large rural schools.

Worst public transportation system in the country for a major city. You couldn’t pay me to take the bus, way too slow. But a lot of these kids have family staying around the city so they go and stay with them or catch rides.

There's quite a few schools in duval who built up overnight because of transfers from other schools going through stability issues
It's no accident Lee became good the same time Ed White fell apart

I agree
I find it ridiculous when i see people saying that changing these rules made things unfair
The biggest issue isn't private vs public
It's metro vs rural
If anything they need to work towards separation by area size not public/private

Maybe not 25 quality but there are more public schools getting guys than private schools.

Give me Lee and First Coast. Columbia by more than 3 for sure. Sandalwood looked awful against TCA in one of the scrimmages, I’m interested to see if they gel as a team or not

I watched the BT vs Mandarin game and BT is still good. They won’t beat Columbia but they are solid.
I’ll be at Bolles vs Trinity week 4 but I’ll be at Trinity vs Columbia game week 6

The crazy thing is the Pahokee-Glades Central (Muck Bowl) game is always used as an example, but yet nothing has EVER happened at or during this game.
