I n my opinion ....no....but playing at South County Stadium, where they are known for home cooking, I give Osceola a 60% chance of coming away with a victory
 

I think it’s so hard to tell because teams get better or worse as the season goes on. Jesuit beat STA by a field goal in the rain week 2 a few years ago. The game was put together in 24 hours notice, STA drove up the day of the game and played with little to no practice. I was at the game. It was really exciting. 
 
After that STA got going and they were humming. Straight dismantling teams. Jesuit was scraping by against middle to bad teams. There’s no doubt in my mind STA would have beaten them by 2-3 scores had the game been played later in the year at a neutral site. 
 
So with IMG/STA, the game could go either way at any time. Both are elite. If the game was played this week I would give a slight edge to STA being that the majority of their players have played together before. Lol 

Fair point. It looked like a false start in real time. But is Lakeland prepared to do it all again when Venice has their best offensive line, rb, and receiving room ever, their best secondary and most experienced linebacking corps ever, and a very strong defensive line once again? We shall see… 

I don’t rank IMG and CAI just because neither team is a Florida high school team in the very sense of the definition. IMG has a majority of OOS players and CAI has a majority of Canadian and European players. They just play in Florida. If I was ranking them, I would have IMG 4th, and CAI 10th respectively

Lol with vero being next week, Venice, Miami central, BTW, & norland with all of these transfers the west could very well have a 5-5 season & miss the playoffs.
obviously it’s one week at a time and a lot can change for any team from one week to the next so we will see how the bulls respond next week.

Central has a lot more to prove against Gorman than they do Vanguard. Bet they’ve been preparing for them since last week at least. Not surprised that Central let Vanguard into this game. They will take out the fireworks in about 2 weeks…

How much did you like that Venice win last night? 

Lots of teams with unbridled bravado at this point, mostly from key skill player transfers that can make an impact.  Still believe you gotta pay a lot of attention to that trench warfare as in many cases that will be the difference.  If you are able to compete in that realm you give yourself a chance.  If not, although the score wasn't a good indicator you will get runover like Venice did last year against those Naughts in the final.

Was pulling for Osceola to win this game but knew that Apopka was going to be very tough; their defense is no joke and will be the reason they win 4M.  Congrats to both teams on a very well-played game. Can’t wait to see Osceola do damage in 4S!

Lakeland by 7. This is Armwood’s best team in a while. Very strong secondary and I think they return their entire offensive line. I still like Lakeland at home, though. Lakeland should feel confident going into the regular season with a victory here. 

Good to see Dillard committing fewer errors! Sometimes, all it takes is one spark to start a fire and it sounds like DB had a few good plays to start the game, and then Dillard took over. They will compete with STA for that district title and the right to home field advantage in playoffs! But one game at a time. 

Sounds like Dillard’s new coach is already working wonders for them. The first step to beating any team (let alone STA or Chaminade,) is not beating yourselves. We’ll see how this plays out but it seems that Dillard fans have a lot to smile about heading into the regular season. 

One last indignity before the start of the season. Wide receiver Keehan Levell transfers from Clarkston, Missouri to Venice.
