  1. Today
  2. looks like they've lost some good players in this offseason, though. The new-ish private school looks like it's taking some good players from area schools.
  3. Yesterday
  4. Lake Minneola is a Lake County all star team. The rest of the teams in the county are not very good at football. Think Osceola and Osceola County. This should be an attractive gig unless it was the former coach who brought all the talent from everywhere. Still a nice area to live.
  5. Sounds like his dad suggested that maybe his days are numbered and that the son should stick around and inherit the Escambia head job.
  6. It must be hard working at Lake Minneola and the community it serves

  8. Lakeland will have one of the toughest early schedules in the state. At Miami Central, at Sumner, At Lake Mary, hosting Miami BTW. Sumner is much better than their (lack of) history suggests. Lake Mary has a top Qb prospect and a solid program. And we know- despite the predictable sandbagging- that the Miami schools are going to be fierce.

  10. OY9 how good is homestead supposed to be???
  11. It’s been about 6-7 months big dawg how everything been wit cha ? August will be here before you know it. What teams are you looking forward to seeing this fall.
  12. Yezzir!!! How you been fam , & how yall looking up there south of 95
  13. There is most def a lot more goliath vs Goliath matchups this upcoming year. Which you love to see. perfect example. STA @ CHAMINADE I thought I would never see that matchup. Especially during a year where both teams are nationally elite. So that’s a game I can’t miss in person. then you got American heritage vs Miami central st Thomas vs American heritage St Thomas vs Columbus It’s going to be an action packed 2024 season.
  14. I think the more likely explanation is that the powerhouses who gets loads of transfers are now struggling mightily to fill out their schedules without scheduling similar programs. They sort of have to play each other...
  15. Dillard Panther been missing in action y'all. Lol
  16. It could just be me, but one trend I've noticed with this year's schedules is that more "good/very good/elite" teams are scheduling more games against other similar teams. Although there are other possible explanations, my theory is that teams are leaning into the perception that strength of schedule is weighted more heavily in MaxPreps ratings than it was in the FHSAA Power Rankings. I cannot confirm this as a fact, as I am still waiting for my MaxPreps decoder ring to arrive in the mail. But it should be interesting to see how scheduling philosophies and the use of MaxPreps affects the selection and seeding of playoff teams. In any event, only 4 more months until kickoff...
  17. Lakeland folks will show up just because Miami is in town. May not be filled up but you get the gist. But Lakeland coming to miami for the first time tho will be nice. I think the city will just show up to watch.
  18. there he is, its gonna be a fun season homie
  19. Looking forward to this season tho. A lot of great games between great programs. Going to be an exciting season.
  20. That’s wassup bro I wish his team all the success this year. And that heat is brutal. Especially after it rains.
  21. Are you talking about NIL or the school voucher program?
  22. The biggest problem at public schools right now is 2 things. One, they are hiring radicals who are more interested in indoctrinating kids with extreme ideologies rather teaching them basic fundamental skills to become well rounded adults. And 2, they are not getting rid of the worst students who take from the kids who want to learn. If kids skip school they should be expelled. Drugs. Expelled. Fights. Expelled. They can stay home and do E-learning. But these public schools keep, and sometimes cover up crimes and poor behavior. Get rid of the kids who don’t want to learn. You gotta tighten the ship
  23. Better to have some kids thrive, then none. Every kid who goes to a private school and thrives is a net benefit to society. Plus your scenario assumes that the private schools don’t already have great teachers taking up all spots available
  24. I’m glad those recruiting rules don’t apply to Broward & Dade county…….
  25. Or the private schools will use their combination of private money and public money (i.e., vouchers) to hire away the best teachers, leaving the rest at the public schools to teach those who don't have the resources -- even with the vouchers -- to send their kids to private schools. Of course, if this happens, there might be a few folks who will brag that it all worked out the way it was planned.
  26. Yeah, if you're in a in a program that has accountability and structure the season never really ends. January to August is when you win championships. I just hope the fans understand and respect that. The coaches should be paid accordingly for the time, effort and sacrifice they put in for the school and football program. Oh, and that 100 degree heat aint no joke for the players, trainers and coaches.
  27. My son got his helmet yesterday. One week later the pads start popping. 3 weeks is the spring game. Then it’s summer workouts in 100 degree heat. There is no off-season!
  28. Yeah most of the best players in the state going to the big 3 is a thing of the past. Maybe thats why the big 3 always being in the top 25 is also a thing of the past.
