Saw a tweet from Tom Herman at Texas that kids don't need to go to IMG for him to find them.  Apparently IMG must have pissed them off in the Lone Star state.

The main problem we have in Florida is areas are growing so fast that people don't have time to build an allegiance to a neighborhood school before there is a new one built and they are going somewhere else.  I grew up in Brandon my sister went to Brandon High my sister was a senior at Brandon and I was a sophomore at Armwood by the time I was a senior,  sophomores in my neighborhood were assigned to Bloomingdale.  My son plays for Port St Joe and it is neat to see some of these kids playing for the same team their fathers, grandfathers, and some cases great grandfathers played for.

You're welcome! Frustrating for me on my end not knowing at first there was a big issue. However, doing the upgrade and getting this all straight now makes me happy.

1A south is tougher to win than 4A North

I personally hope they leave things as is,  we are going through enough changes with this new playoff format and school choice.  

But private schools do recruit solely for athletic reasons.  There are plenty of ball players at private schools that can't afford to attend the schools and amazingly they get to go,  but their sibling who is not as good an athlete just can't quite meet the requirements.  I personally don't have a problem with it if the kid can get a better education through their god-given abilities but let's not pretend for a second that private schools aren't actively recruiting athletes from the public schools. You state that an OTC student can encourage a player to attend there because they don't ultimately have the authority to determine who can attend there but I guess the Trenton kid must have have that authority.  I'm not trying to be confrontational but public and private schools always have and always will be treated differently.  

I hear Belleview go have another 20+ coming in.... Wonder if they are gonna see whats going on there..

The Palm Beach County School district plans to file the appeal, because the error was on their behalf. The coaches, that I have spoken to have accepted the ruling, but are upset that everything will be taken away from the kids over this error. It wasn't anything intentional on the school/coaches behalf. They didn't go out an recruit this kid, because he didn't play football at the previous school. This incident doesn't affect the 1A classification, and nor does it paint a picture on Pahokee HIgh. They are not repeat offenders or always under the microscope of the FHSAA. This incident will create a better checks and balance system within the school regarding the athletic department.

I am sure the appeal will be turned down. As far as this being a black eye on all of 1A i disagree although i do think the FHSAA should do a better job of getting on top of something like this before it affects everyone in the classification. Mistakes happen but it would be nice to see this kind of mistake corrected early in the season so everyone has a chance to recover. Had Pahokee detected this earlier in the year all of this could have been avoided.
 
The only thing to do now is stand up like man and say we made a mistake, accept responsibility and say it wont happen again. There will be a lot more respect for the coaching staff and the AD if this happens, not to mention it will show your kids that real men accept the punishment for there mistakes and learn from it to do better in the future.

Still under 19/9 rule, but you are allowed 8 semesters of high school participation.  In other words you have to fail BEFORE high school to still play the full 8 semesters

Tigerfan i agree with you on almost everything you have said regarding the 1a rural class. I am a Hawthorne guy. We are in the bottom in enrollment. We have never complained about where we have been placed. The districts have always been stacked against us in all sports if you go off enrollment. Our football district was fort white, baldwin, union county, and Hilliard... 2 of the schools over 600 and union being real close if not over also... Then they turn around and let Williston and Newberry leave their football district and join our district in basketball... We are the type of school that the people that make the decisions forget about...
 
Now some of you. The schools that are forced to move up will see how it feels to be on the bottom of the class in numbers...wish they forced you before they did away with districts, so you would be forced to play some schools that double your enrollment and not hand pick down schools... See what if feels like having a team dress double the amount of players you dress. Having teams dress 35 seniors against your 10 and the difference that makes...
 
All the schools that moved up can compete in the places they were moved... You complaining cause it wont be easy... Winning state championships shouldnt be easy.

didnt bolles and TCA move up to 5a?
