Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in 5a south/AHP/Hardee
Here is some food for thought and this is just referencing "elite" recruits. Not all FBS. Again, is it really a shocked scenario with rosters of 20+ D1 players on the same team?
https://247sports.com/ContentGallery/National-Signing-Day-2018-Florida-counties-that-produce-most-elite-college-football-recruits-114717279
How come loaded teams like Jones and Armwood are never referenced?
DFB traditionally gets way more transfers then private powers like AHP and STA. We'll leave that one alone though...
Those teams were stacked just like SFL powers with MORE transfers. If I am not mistaken Jones had over 30 transfers last year.
Not a problem when they don't dominate, right? All of a sudden when a team becomes a "gorilla" though it is a problem, right?
Surely no one has an agenda against stacked teams, success and dominance.
Well a team can dominate as long as they do it by YOUR standards, right?

Thank's for your opinion. Fortunately, for the student-athletes and their families sake your sarcastic and condescending opinion does not dictate FHSAA rules and regulations.
As to how that much talent ends up on one team. Do you even live in SFL???
I don't know they roll in Hardee but here is SFL for ya...
1. At the present time anywhere in FL , the last I checked any student can transfer anywhere providing the have their own transportation.
2. Private schools never had school zones.
3. Previous to current FHSAA transfer rules, students had options to attend multiple schools based on overcrowding of zones etc....
4. Many student athletes families RENT in Broward and Dade, come from broken families etc...It is not your job nor the FHSAA's to dictate how these families live their private family lives. For example: A family is allowed to move out of a 7 month, annual or even BREAK a lease if they choose to. Again - not our business.
5. Magnet and charter schools allow students to attend schools of their academic interest is well.
6. Anyone that has attended youth football in many parts of Broward and Dade and cannot comprehend that they are looking at potentially 10-20 kids per team (or weight class in some cases!) may have FBS potential in 3-5 years is either naive or a moron. Considering the fact in many cases , many live in a specific area of Broward or Dade it should not be some shock that many attend the same public school or go off to a private school. Take the NW Dade or SW Broward area, go watch the youth leagues where many kids are live zoned for Miramar, Carol City, MNW etc....Are you still not getting it and can't fathom how so many land at the same public schools?
Most private schools that have a strong established sports tradition nationwide are generally able to be successful. Now factor in the huge population and level of football and it should be no shock of loaded private school rosters. Duh!
Who is the "gorilla" in this case AHP? Again, did AHP ever stop Hardee from being successful?
Last I checked they were getting blasted by Dunbar37-17.
If AHP is a "pissed of gorilla" , there are lots of pissed off gorillas out there...I guess Immokalee was also a pissed off gorilla last year as well when they almost beat AHP in their own cage.

They not beating 85% of Florida schools by 30.. Stop the blasphemy...

Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in Comparison of # of Playoff Teams over Past 5 Decades
As far as the number of teams making the playoffs, how many teams are there playing HS football in FL in 2018 versus say 1980?
Is the overall increase in teams making the playoffs proportionate with overall increase in HS enrollment and state wide school growth?

Zoe Boy reacted to Cat_Scratch in Quiz- Counties with Most State Title Winners
There are 2 schools in Melbourne that won. The Melbourne Bulldogs and the Melbourne Palm Bay Pirates.
And yes, Brevard is rich in support and talent. MCC and Viera are on the upswing going forward as potential new combers to the championship club.

How much money is generated off Texas HS football versus FL HS football?
-
Zoe Boy reacted to DisabledAccount in California vs Texas vs Florida Top 25 School Comparisons
Texas puts heavy money into their public schools
So does GA
FL puts basically nothing into public schools. The legislation of this state are idiots

“Rich like crazy”...Really?
Those schools could not afford the light bills at Texas public school stadiums.
-
Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in California vs Texas vs Florida Top 25 School Comparisons
Not sure where you are going with this but I guess it will end up race related ( as most of your posts do) ....
Football speaking Texas “public” schools should not be compared to public schools in FL or nationally pretty much anywhere as it is an extreme example and far from the norm.
Texas Public schools budgets combined with boosters probably make most FL and Cali private school available funds look like peasants and panhandlers.

Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in Ely@Pahokee
One of the reasons is NW Dade and the Miami Gardens area is significantly more talent loaded then the Dillard/Ely area ( which are really near one another anyway in the first place). Flat out way more developed players coming up from the youth leagues.
Are you aware that most of Dillard’s talent of late were actually inbound transfers?
Again, the concept of the Dillard area being some Mecca of football talent has tapered out over the years.
Kids also naturally want to win. Something 16-6A has been pretty good at.
Just food for thought.
Sincerely,
2018

Speaking of Broward vs Dade in the playoffs. There is one game I've always wanted to see. 2007 MNW vs Deerfield Beach! If anyone has any footage of that game definitely post it!

Edison was horrible last year but watch how quick they reload and become a threat in 4A this year...

Are there more 8A schools in Miami Dade or Seminole, Osceola, and Orange County?
-
Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in Are Miami Dade's Public School Programs Struggling?
Public school, not sure I can find one that consistent but if you are from SFL you should know that Southwest plays in arguably the worst 8A District in the state. Belen Jesuit is the only team with a pulse in that 8-15 district. Unless you feel beating Ferguson, Braddock, Coral Reef and Varela are not consistent, easy Ws.... I can't argue with those numbers but tell me how their season ends every year with that "winning" record?
How is Southwest record versus other 8A Publics or any publics for that matter outside their District?
What is Southwest postseason record in that super 39-15, 2012- 2016 run?

Zoe Boy reacted to BrowardHandicapper in Transfer Season 2018
True. But you can say that about all professions, forms of entertainment and aspects of life. Many communities may look entitled to the outside world. For me personally it would be hard to call FL public school coaches (HC and assistants) who are basically volunteers -entitled. As far as coaches go....being entitled usually does not mean working sometimes 8 hours a day, some working 10 months a year, sometimes being outdoors over 100 degrees- generally all for a little extra gas and meal money. In fact, many public school coaches may actually be closer to the "struggling to survive" category vs the "entitled" category of society. At least fiscally anyway.
Underpaid and underappreciated IMO.

Zoe Boy reacted to OldSchoolLion in Transfer Season 2018
As hard as it is for us football junkies to fathom, some school administrators probably have much bigger problems now than their football program, ie budget shortfalls and teacher layoffs around the country. As a football community, we must look petty and entitled to those outside our world who are struggling to survive. ...bickering and backstabbing when things don't go our way.
