  1. St Augustine is one of the most consistently good teams in all of north Florida. They've won a lot of playoff games the last couple of decades.....solid program
  2. Between you and Nolebull busting ColumbiaFan's a$$ its " cruel and unusual punishment." The young guy lives for his Tigers. Lighten up you cynical old ba$tard$. You once loved too
  3. Joker, your boys are back... congratulations
  4. I agree 100%. FPC, Spruce Creek, Mainland, PB Heritage, Dillard, and many others would not have made it in your district. But would you have made it in 6A-16 ? Many districts have only one race horse, and some of those aren't really thoroughbreds (See:FPC). High school Football like life itself isn't always fair. Without a multiple format like you mentioned in other sports, where all teams qualify, nothing would be beyond reproach. Get involved with the process coach. Give your thoughts to the FHSAA. You input may open minds. Good luck in the future. God knows the kids today sure need the steady hand and guidance they receive from you guys every afternoon. I tip my hat to all you coaches.
  5. Coach, I've been with you and your point of view up till now. Sure FPC and Spruce Creek didn't beat any super team this year. But FPC did win their district and go undefeated. Spruce Creek on the other hand would have been undefeated had not the ref's blown an inadvertent whistle on a pick 6. You lost 4 games and Apopka was the ONLY good team you beat and the ONLY team with a winning record. You beat a historical weak Olympia team in week one and you go to the playoffs too ! My homer team Mainland didn't beat anybody worth a damn all season long either. But in our region four teams from district 16 made the playoffs with a murderous schedule. You could have done the same thing. Sure no one thinks this new system is great and hopefully things will be adjusted in the off season. I feel your pain coach and mean no disrespect, but with only one quality win and four loses you need to move on. Peace
  6. Come on up 'Cat. Homeside(south end with press box) old man, white hair, glasses, talking $hit, row 25-30, 40yrd line towards LPGA Blvd. Can't promise a great game, but words of wisdom will be flying from all corners
  7. It also didn't hurt, he picked up a few timely transfers.
  8. Heads up Bamarod, just between you and me, badbird "Knows" the Osceola Kowboys very well. You could say his inside knowledge of the program shouldn't be questioned at this time.
  9. I'll go with what 1st year HC Travis Roland did at Flagler Palm Coast 2017 - 9-0 2016 - 3-6 2015 - 4-6
  10. I'm with you Panther. You beat CC and we beat Norland, I'll buy wings before the game in Daytona. Just don't mortgage the house on that scenario coming to fruition. A falling comet may destroy Florida before that dream comes true....
  11. Badbird, don't think that hasn't entered my mind
  12. The new playoff system worked in 6A-4. Never before has a 4th place district member had a chance to be a state champion. Miami Norland, from an ungodly powerful district, makes the final eight in an region of many weak members. No one can argue they should be bumped from the playoffs by a more deserving Regional 4 team. The new system (IMO) worked here....
  13. Thanks for the early heads up SportsNut. 6A Region 4 Matanzas at Miami NorthwesternMiami Central at Palm Bay HeritageMiami Carol City at DillardMiami Norland at MainlandWith district winners receiving automatic seeds 1-4, this bracket (IMO) may be the fairest ever. A 4th place member of a super powerful district (16) can go to the championship game. Never in FHSAA's history has this occured. The new playoff format worked in 6A-4.
  14. 4 Titles - 1983, '84, '85, '93, 1 - 1982 runner up
  15. I'll help 'Cat, got championship program in hand... Brevard County Football State Champions and Runner Ups (Public schools) : Melbourne - 1966, runner up - '65 Merritt Island - 1972, '78, '79, runner up - '89 Palm Bay - 2000, '02 Titusville High - 1982, '83, runner up - '80 Rockledge - 2001, '02 Cocoa - 2008, '09, '10, '16 Titusville -Astronaut - runner up - 2000
  16. ColumbiaFan, do you have disabilities that prohibit you from obtaining one ?
  17. Wilver, you have mellowed over the years.....watch it Columbo he may bite you a$$
  18. Damn Darter, and I wasted two "LIKES" on that Ball Buster, NoleBull
  19. ......or.....Mainland 42 American Heritage-Plantation 30 (2014
  20. Darter, he's had a great season in that high octane offense. He was a 200m sprint champion in back to back years at the FHSAA Track Championships. Put him in space, or have him turn the corner and he is gone. Charles Nelson at Oregon ( a Daytona Seabreeze alum ) is used much the same in a system that is very similar. Both are smaller sized guys with good hands, great attitudes, and strong work ethics. I'm proud to call them homeboys
  21. Agree. Don't know the parameters of Laz's rating system but he usually has a couple panhandle teams ranked higher then most believe them to be. I've noticed this for many years now following his power ratings. SO FL fans sometime think he underrates their 8-2 or 7-3 powers and inflates a 9-1 Niceville who doesn't play nearly as strong a schedule as they do. But who knows for sure what's right. Got to play the games to find out. Recent history tells us the south is loaded. Population plays a big part.
  22. Roadkill, I'll volunteer some info on Larry's website. He's a long time numbers guy. Think he started the Laz Index in 1999. Like Maxpreps, Calpreps, Pinko's, and the earlier computer polls started decades ago ( Dunkel Index, Jeff Sagarin ) they all analyze ball scores and rate teams accordingly. He's one of the 6-12 Flavarsity message board guys who try and hook up at the FHSAA Football Championships in December. We usually go for food and drinks between the games. Checkout his website below. His Florida High School power rating since 1999 are eye opening. Also Top 100 in wins, playoff games, percentages, etc, etc. Click the "Florida's Best" at the top of the page for the real in state powerhouses, not the flash in the pan teams of 2 or 3 years.......great website for a numbers guy. http://lazindex.com/index.php
