Just a Coach, do Perspective and I get to share the Samsonite briefcase of cash? Also, does either of us get the lady? A million to one, YES you are telling me that there is a chance!

Perspective, why don't you just admit that you always look forward to my screen name, and cannot wait for what I have to say about any topic? lol

Just A Coach, you are the type of Coach that most parents want to help their children. Also, most kids want to be coached and helped to the most of their abilities.

Just A Coach, thank you for the first statement. However, while most officials might know who or what type of power IMG is, they probably would not know about all of their prospects or even care about any kind of rankings. Most officials just want to give back to the sport, and the players, especially in this very unusual year. Then again, as you would well know, some Head Coaches are easier to deal with and more reasonable than others. Officials are human, and certainly have certain Head Coaches that they would prefer over others, but also most officials would like to officiate the better teams, not only because of the quality of play, but also the sense of importance of the particular game.

HornetFan, one of the reasons that a school like Bishop Moore might see the same officials most weeks is because the Assigner for officials knows the that Hornets are a perennial playoff team, and therefore they should be provided some of the better officials in the Association for most of their games. This would also be true of Apopka, Edgewater, Seminole, First Academy etc.

Thank you HornetFan, but if you start believing commentators when it comes to officiating, you will be disappointed. Also, you will find that "home cooking" officiating is not as prevalent as some would believe. Most officials could care less about which team wins any particular game. Unfortunately, I missed the game.

Thank you for posting those articles HornetFan. Private schools are doing what they can for their players and parents. I applaud them for that.

Jambun82 got a reaction from HornetFan in SFHSAA being created ?
Another great post HornetFan. I recently saw a Spectrum Sports exclusive on a Linebacker from West Orange High School, who has been playing since he was in grade school through several injuries, just to get a chance at a college football scholarship. This player's father got a college football scholarship, and the father credited that scholarship with creating a good life for his family. Now he wants the same for his son, and I believe that those kind of Seniors and stories that are important right now. The class of 2021 did nothing to create and spread this virus, every effort should be made to help out these young men and women just like would be done any other Non-Pandemic year.

That is very interesting information. Thank you again nolebull813.

Jambun82 got a reaction from OldSchoolLion in Who Is This FL HS Legend? Dallas Baker/New Smyrna Beach
That is Dallas Baker, who played in high school at New Smyrna Beach. He played his college football at the University of Florida for both Ron Zook and Urban Meyer, and played on the 2006 NC team that beat Ohio State. Dallas is coaching college football now I believe, but I am not sure at what program.

The team that Coach Maronto, as the Head Coach at New Smyrna Beach, beat from Pennsylvania was Central Daulphin East 17-6, in the 22nd Annual Rotary Bowl at Longwood Lyman High School the day before Thanksgiving in 1995.

I am not sure who this coach is, but I do know that is Daytona Stadium that he is standing in.

Jambun82 got a reaction from OldSchoolLion in Who Are These Famous Coaches? Jim Buckridge & Phil Ziglar
The Hagerty coach is Phil Ziglar, who had a legendary career at Boone, and who lead the Braves to at least one state title game in his tenure at the school. The other coach is the Head Coach at Timber Creek, but I am not sure of his name, I believe that his first name is Jim. I don't what school that they coached at together, but these are two of the better coaches in the Central Florida area, and maybe the entire state.

I have heard rumors and seen reports that the 2014 rematch game was extremely well-officiated, but that cannot be confirmed at this time.

I remember in 2009 to around 2014, that message board was really going strong. The South Florida posters leaving the board really had an effect. I wonder whatever happened to OU112?

Yes, this is what I am talking about. There is no reason for a public-servant, taxpayer-funded union to be mandating or dictating anything other than salary and benefits for it's members. You are a treasure to this message board HornetFan.

I understand why he was fired. Coaches need to set an example for their players, and obviously Coach Maronto did not set the proper example in that instance. My point was that that one incident, which I personally do not find to be a big issue at all, should not overshadow all of the good that the man did for many people for many years, including for me personally. I still remember having a conversation with Coach Maronto about Woody Hayes, and he explaining to me that all that Coach Hayes accomplished at Ohio State should not be discounted because he punched a Clemson player who intercepted a pass in the 1978 Gator Bowl.
