Agree 100%, but the noise coming out of Venice the last 2 weeks was their "scheme" would get the job done. Reality set it when he could no longer chase the refs down the sideline after every play screaming for a tough foul. Lakeland/Osceola was clearly the defacto 4S State championship game. The Kowboys return a strong 2024/2025 class and could be the early favorite going into the 2023 season.

In all honesty good call, Venice thought a "6 man front" would be what the doctor ordered for stopping the Lakeland offense and it actually played into the Dreadnaughts hands. Bill Castle power football was still able to run the Indians into the ground and they apparently forgot about the Lakeland WRs who stole their cookies back in May. Your Kowboys were able to shut down the Naughts passing game and Venice thought they would be able to do the same. It really exposed a bad game plan by Peacock and staff.

Bucholz, Bradford, Bolles were pretty good and lost close games. Pine Forest not coming out of that region sent the entire area into the toilet. I've played in, coached, and witnessed alot of HS football over the last 40+ years. For Columbia to have athletes like they have and look like a pop warner coached team is exactly what I said in my original post, "a bad reflection on the region".

And that is a truly bad reflection on the schools in the North and Panhandle area that Columbia advanced out of that region. Columbia is a poorly coached team. It was shocking and embarrassing what Lake Wales did to them. The Highlanders are good, but that good? I guess we will see more in 2 weeks. Columbia OL/DL had a size advantage but looked slow and out of shape. How can a team lack conditioning in December? The group of us that scouted that game could not believe our eyes. We expected a close down to the wire contest. The other game in Polk was closer than expected and the game we should have attended.

I mentioned this particular poster a year ago that he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about concerning Lakeland and most of what is happening in Polk County. You on the other hand are just a Lakeland hater period. I partly understand why but your dislike for that program won't change "facts". Nobody "recruited" the kid in question more than your favorite school. And I do mean nobody. Even though he put up record setting numbers at his previous school he and his family were fed up with the nonsense at that program and decided that enough was enough. They (FAMILY) wanted his senior year to be at a place with discipline first and foremost and a winning culture being second most. They (FAMILY) made a total list of two (2) programs to consider. Your favorite school (a very good program close by, and one that had been after him for YEARS), and a legendary program, albeit on the other side of the county. The choice was made after talking/visiting both campuses, so save the out recruited nonsense. Gunner Holland did a rain dance when he heard the news that the kid in question made the other choice..... That is until David Buggs "mysteriously" showed up on Thaker Ave. And while we are at it, how many D1 prospects at St. Cloud, Poinciana, Gateway, Celebration, Harmony, Liberty, Tohopekaliga combined?

Yes sir Booster P, everyone knows that Bentley, X.Washington(TBT), Brandon Royal(Sickles) and a few others would have been part of Robbie's annual Plant Panthers QB tryout.

Bentley and dad decided to move to a better program and/or improve his skill set. He's a decent HS QB but not considered a bigtime prospect at the moment. FYI, they contacted Venice after contacting a school in Polk County.

They have a very good coach (Andre' Kates) and alot of talent in that D.C area to draw from.

You fear Hawthorne because of what they did to you last year and are going to do again this year. Cornelius Ingram is as high quality person as you can find. Madison can play in 1A with a 4A enrollment, but Hawthorne can't get transfers? Grow up kid.

When I said last week they would lose 2 more games I was being a little generous. I actually believed they would lose 3 more games, not including the playoffs where they will get knocked out by Hawthorne again, or Ft Meade

I'm not sure about the state record but I would bet that accomplishment ranks pretty high.

Lake Wales had shutouts in 8 of their 10 regular season games in 1980. The other 2 games they surrendered 6pts and 13pts. 19 total points in 10 games.
