Unfortunately, you are still suffering mental loss.  Your take was Lakeland vs Lake Gibson from the jump.  Coach Castle vs Coach Pringle.  Osceola has never been charged with a recruiting violation either, so you can't even replace Osceola for Lakeland in that respect either.  Finally, the player in question is AT LAKELAND not Osceola.  A bit late for deflecting.

You're really worked up over this, aren't you?!

You're speaking to someone who's lived in California for the last 20 years.

In fact, my claim has never been that. I was referring to...wait for it...a TWEET where the effort of Lake Gibson's players were acknowledged but so was the fact that the kid was going to Lakeland. My comment a little bit above was simply in reference to Gator saying the kids had spoken to both programs, while Perspective only seemed interested in the conversation with Lakeland, even though it was said he spoke to both. Anyone who's followed Perspective's comments over the years understands why he'd focus only one way, just as anyone seeing your avatar knows why you focus one way. My aim to is to speak with stark honesty about what's going on. But, just like with politics and matters of ideology, people only want to focus outrage in the direction of the other tribe; never their own.

Thank you, Ray.  My question was to Lakeland Gator.  In his post, he stated:  "The choice was made after talking/visiting both campuses, so save the out recruited nonsense."   He sounded like he had some knowledge that the kid or his family had spoken to coaches at one or both of the schools . . . in fact, when I first read it, I was going to ask if the kid had taken "official visits" to both schools a la the way its done in college.

Given what was originally posted, I don't really expect the poster to come back and say something to incriminate the Dreadnaughts (like, "yeah, I was standing right there when the kid stopped by Lakeland over the summer and was talking to Coach Castle about what his chances would be of earning the starting QB job if he were to transfer to Lakeland").   While that may very well have happened, no one's going to come on a message board and acknowledge that.

Bottom line:  I was just looking for a little clarification from the other guy, not you, Ray.

And I'm sure you realize you could switch out Dreadnaughts with Kowboys, Lakeland with Osceola and Coach Castle with Coach Pinellas, and mean the same thing. ;)

It's funny how two Lakeland posters are by far the most out of touch people on any of these boards

One is a coward who blocked me because I called him out for being dishonest and claiming that the recent heavy transfer movement in Polk County was a first after he previously lied and said "transfers is just a SFL and private school issue"

The other is one who acts like he's some honorable person yet will openly defend someone who has went on an "anonymous" message board and doxed multiple posters by posting their pictures which he only got through stalking

What a great group of honorable people LMAO

I don't have any clue as to what you're talking about. The fact that you keep talking about it further demonstrates what a disturbed, sick little puppy you are. You're delusional and disturbed.

  4. I remember the topic of traveling large distances for K.O. classics coming up a few days ago. It's just a bad idea to even try to play games in Florida (especially away from the coasts) around 7-8pm this time of year there. Lightning delays are virtually guaranteed. I feel bad for MNW and their fans. That's a long way to travel for a game that should've been obvious was going to be extremely difficult to play.

Strange, you seem to know alot about everyone and everything else Lakeland but not the QB.  Sure!!  This difference of opinion will not be decided by you or I but others who may have an interest in this topic.

I don't know anything about any of the players personally, nor do I wish to know. Sometimes things show up on Twitter. That's it.

I think Venice can win 6 or 7 games with a push. Naples, Riverview, Sarasota, Palmetto, IMG varsity, and Clearwater all should be wins. Miami Northwestern, CMD, and Seminole are the toss-ups with SFA as an almost certain loss.

My guess was based on thinking one loss will come to either Naples or Riverview, but I suppose that may not happen. Flying blind on CAI, but as I've said before my prediction is they will be a beast, beat Venice and have a shot at Lakeland.

Lakeland would have put up a much better fight than Venice did.

Lakeland wouldn't be able to get much done on offense, save for grinding out some first downs and chewing clock. Maybe Tyler Williams or Money would make a big play or two. But, I think Lakeland's defense, if they shortened the rotation and stuck with their best 11-14 players, could hang in vs. the IMG offense. Overall, IMG is a different animal and regular HS teams shouldn't be compared to them.

Venice needs Kintigh back. Even with him, a 4-win season seems likely. The schedule is just too insane.

Well, I commend your admission to the REALITY of some programs.   Top programs attract top players, that is understood by all.  We just recently got a top running back from a neighboring HS, although we don't NEED him as we got excellent RB's already.  My example, you needed a QB then went and got one.  Prior to that happening, that kid had approached our staff about coming to our school as he had been playing with most of our kids in the 7v7 team for the past 5 years or so.  I have a theory of why he made the switch and went there, but it is just that.  A theory by a keen observer, not an undisputable fact.

Players make moves for lots of reasons. I don't know anything about him. Obviously, players "shop around". It's a wild time.

IMG doesn't compete for championships in the FHSAA, so the housing issue is irrelevant to the 463 or so schools that do want to win a championship.  You recently bragged about how Lakeland "Out Recruited" Lake Gibson for Zach Pleuss (QB) and that is the POINT!!  Get what you need by any means necessary.

I wasn't bragging. It isn't any sort of point of pride. It's just an honest characterization of reality.

It's the private school no rules vs public schools abide-by-the-rules advantage.  It's why the privates need their own league and should just play each other.  Water under the bridge now with the metro vs suburban deal.

IMG and a couple of others are in a class of their own. They offer housing to players. Typical private schools can not do this.

  11. 53 minutes ago, Ray Icaza said:

Wow, you sound like a politician sugar coating the incident.   "Appeared to be Evidence", "Booster Seemed to have Helped"??  Please!!  No telling how many kids were involved that year but a thorough investigation by the FHSAA produced 6 Convictions with $10K fine for each.   If you were honest you wouldn't be calling other local schools Lakeland Haters as they just don't want anyone poaching their players.

Point is, ANY sort of involvement in housing assistance is a scandal and met with large fines if it's any other school. IMG recruits from other schools, offers housing directly to players, and has never been fined or been in any sort of trouble whatsoever.

We shot ourselves in the foot more than IMG beat us. Senselessness penalties, fumbles, turnovers, sacks, and some bad play calls killed us tonight. Congratulations to IMG on a well-deserved win. We will be back!

you will be back. But, short of recruiting and housing players from all over, your primary disposition vs. IMG will be one of severe safety concerns for your players. It is not safe for you to put that kind of team on the field vs. IMG. Had you played the absolute perfect game tonight, IMG would have had to break more of a sweat to put the running clock on you.

Personally schools should stop scheduling IMG Academy

    Yup.

Years ago, the many haters of Lakeland here had a field day when there appeared to be evidence that a Lakeland booster seemed to have helped some kids secure an address in the Lakeland zone. Lakeland was ousted, penalized, fined and shamed everywhere for this. IMG has ALWAYS intentionally offered quality housing to its recruits IN THE OPEN. I don't recall seeing anyone criticize them for this. It's the most blatant of double standards. Nobody else in the state (except for maybe Clearwater International*) openly recruits and houses players from all over.

    * it is impermissible to mention CAI recruits and houses players from all over. It is also impermissible to suggest they may be loaded this year as a result.

They didn't appear to miss the high profile players transferring out (ie.  Stacy Gage, etc. ) and looks like they just upgraded.  Any Florida team will struggle with these cats.

No doubt. I knew they lost two Rbs, but then I watched film of the 2024 kid that replaced them. That was when I knew that those guys left because they were soon to become backups. Venice knows now too. IMG would handle Lakeland most likely as well. Would have to be a Bill Castle special with ball control eating the clock etc to have a chance.

Being that I don’t follow img , going solely off the info on here, iMG is way down this year, lost they head coach, players transferring out left and right & this could be their most beatable team in the last 5+ years & this is Venice best chance to beat them. And that central is gonna destroy them.

fast forward to tonight a running clock in the third and a 41-3 final over a very good Venice team, I know @VeniceIndiansFootball is sick right now. Keep ya head up bro. You have a chance to bounce back in a big way next week vs another very very good opp.

Some of us have been following closely for a few decades.

I'll take IMG over Miami Central 49-13. Some may say that's a stupid pick, and that NOBODY beats Miami Central 49-13. But those folks don't know history :) I think that 49-13 score will be earned over 3-4 quarters, rather than arrived at after an easy running clock like tonight. It might be more like 21-6 at the half, and 35-6 or 35-13 after 3 quarters.

  16. Lakeland and Armwood played a quarter and a half. 13-6 Lakeland when it was called due to lightning. Hard to read much into a quarter and a half. Lakeland's offense was a bit disappointing as there were numerous false starts. But, the quarter and a half were pretty well controlled by the Naughts. They were up 13-0 before the rain started coming down. Armwood's score came after a diving pick (following two false starts bringing up 1st and 20) set them up at about the 30.
