Vero only 5 home games??? Usually at least 7.... The Vero crowds helped the general athletic funds.... PS anymore news on NIL at HS level here in Florida?

I didn't find out till near the end of the first quarter, that I had the damn Bally sports thing in my cable package! Fiddy thousand channels and not a damn thing worth watching! On to the game....After watching on my computer and the NFHS network, Lakeland and Bucholtzzzz and Venice and DeeeLand, I figgered Venice would win, and win biggly! I was wrong, as the land of Publix, put on a running attack show! Congrats to Lakeland. My second observation: Vero Beach will never be in the same league!! On to the new classification and District BS the FHSAA is bringing in 2024... Merry Christmas all!!

I'm a believer in Venice, after watching them last night! I know Vero beat them last time they played at Venice, and the game at Vero was canceled due to weather, but them fellers can play!! Adds to my comment as Vero will always have a good team with Coach J, just not a great team to compete at the State level.

I gonna get in the mix a tad...... Coach J is a good football coach! But he is not a GREAT football coach and I think that is what is needed to win state championships!! Same with TC coach.... Longtime legend coach at Vero, Billy Livings once said... "you can't coach to get to the playoffs, you coach to get THROUGH the playoffs!!" He did win state championships in Alabama and Vero.

I thought that DeLand was a good matchup against TC.... I felt DeLand was a stronger team, on film, than TC. I felt a 35-7 DeLand was a good possibility. I am looking forward to watching them play Venice as Venice has a great production squad for TV, they do a really nice job on the NFHS network...... Will check out Lakeland/ Bucholtz also.

Same officiating crew as last time...... For some reason, as per TCPalm, no crew from out of area to officiate the game. This crew would never call a pass interference or a block in the back to save their skins,,,,,

PSL is made up of mostly transplanted North East folk, most of whom moved there in the last 15 years and are without school aged kids.......Even Veros attendance is down from 5-7000 per game to 3500.....Theys just dying off I recon!

The reason Vero and TC are not listed, is because the area is considered East Central Florida.....

I watched the game on FLHS network..... Cocoa got had! ...... Correct on unsportsmanlike penalty 15 yards and 1st down.... Clock would not move...plus a extra timeout?? Yep..... It happened. I had no skin in the game, just wanted to see a good game as I did not travel to PSL for Titan/Seminole game due to weather. Thought Titan game would be broadcast....

Was going to head down for the Titan/Seminole game, but looks like weather will be closing in....

I should be at the Titan/Seminole game Friday night, as both teams will play Vero this season! Should be a good game.

As A Vero fan for over 50 years, ive seen many a packed Citrus Bowl game. 9000for a game against Merrit Island in the 80s, over 10k at the state championship vs Mosley. Vero also travels very well, sometimes outdrawing the home team. With said, having been to Lakeland twice in one year, back in the 80s their crowds were awesome! A few games at the Kow-palace were fun and loud as heck (the old Silver Spurs palace), but today post Covid crowds have thinned some even for Vero. We have busses that pick up folk from Indian River Estates retirement community, but those folk like we all will are dying off. We used to have hundreds of band parents that would stay past halftime then leave....back when our band was 250-300 strong....Now less than half that size. Old Coach Billy Livings used to say he was "head of the Friday entertainment committee" as part of his job when he came to Vero in 1980! Its sad to see communities no longer have a vested feeling in their HS team. Vero just invested $1.5 million in a new synthetic turf...best to keep our stands full to pay for it!

I wonder why Vero gets zero transfers from Sebastian then....

Dont know who the Vero fan is.... but watching the game on youtube.com will change his perspective. Undisciplined play is the norm in Miami??? When you hold receivers all night some are going to be called same with personal fouls.

The game I saw ...were two teams that had some players making untimely mistakes! A very fast MNW and very undisciplined team, made waaaay two many penalties to win. They will be a force in the playoffs. Take away undisciplined play and they will be awesome. Definitely no home cooking, bad calls on both sides of the ball, and they Bulls were out coached. My surprise of the night was Kowboys going down to TC, and TC throwing the ball a tad, out to make for a fun year!

Watched many a game at South County Stadium, and surprised at the lack of holding calls that are never made against Treasure Coast. Happens to Vero and it happened to Apopka too...both teams have been strong enough to overcome the lack of calls. Plenty of phantom calls also...

I did not realize Swint was out.... Now 50/50 vs Treasure Coast.....

I n my opinion ....no....but playing at South County Stadium, where they are known for home cooking, I give Osceola a 60% chance of coming away with a victory

Nothing exceptional.... I was more impressed with Veros speed a running backs, and defensive speed!... I think if Apopka were to play TC...they mash like they did a few years ago
