Wow the committee is made of all public school people. There is no private school representation. This is like the wolf watching the chicken coop. This dysfunction is surreal

There was private school representation. I just didn't have everyone's name down. Was going on memory of who's names I could remember from being in the meeting and who I knew. A few people I did not know.

  2. Committee endorses adding an Open Division playoff bracket for team sports while also eliminating Metro-Suburban classifications for football to help achieve competitive balance in the state

Yes, some big changes could be on the horizon soon if they come to fruition. Still, there is a long way to go, but this may start to address some of the concerns some of you have had about football (and maybe other sports).

  3. You all...

    You all keep complaining....

One the contracts ran out at Gene Cox and DRV PNK

Second, I don't believe DRV PNK was interested in renewing and taking on all nine games.

Third, FHSAA heard a ton of complaints regarding the split weekends. Honestly, going back to one site was needed.

Fourth, Orlando... my understanding is both sides tried, but it comes down to dollars and what is going to make sense for all involved.

A lot of you think the FHSAA can just go pull up to any stadium and play at it, and the stadium will be fine with it. It does not work that way. Logistics are a major thing in all of this, and if all the logistics do not line up, would it make sense to play at said stadium?

And no, I am not a secret member of the FHSAA... I just understand how things work and what the bylaws and policies are without trying to sound off-putting here.

So was it 85-0 or 61-0 either way the game was an embarrassment and obviously their schedule outside of the one game they lost and was held to 7 points has been pure Debbie cakes lol.

as far as they’re band I seen em Dillard band is really big to (well that’s always l) lol. But the way that it’s sounding is like next Saturday night at Dillard is gonna be a crazy crowd. & it’s Dillard homecoming weekend and you know Dillard has the biggest homecoming weekend/tailgate for a hbcu high school in Florida.

Being told it was 61-0 not 85-0.

  7. The predictions are out on the FHSF PRI forecast for Week 4.

You can check it out here: https://floridahsfootball.com/2023/09/14/fhsf-power-rankings-index-week-4-statewide-game-forecast/

If you don't have an MVP Subscription, you can click here to sign up and see all the plans: https://floridahsfootball.com/subscriptions/

Right now the record with the formula is 537-263 (.671)

Week 0 - 7-6 (.538) - Mostly 8 man games and the IMG game... since it was preseason

    Week 1 - 167-100 (.625)

Week 2 - 175-67 (.723) - Some games wiped out by the hurricane

Week 3 - 188-90 (.676) - Some games went sideways here last week.

Still pretty happy with what the formula is doing, and it will be improved upon even further after this season.

I think it’s bad reporting there Josh, causing confusion. Like this report, headline states fired but then the article states he’s been relieved of duties until further notice implying a suspension.

    https://www.fox35orlando.com/news/hazing-video-of-viera-high-school-student-pinned-down-prompts-suspension-of-high-school-football-activities.amp

And hence why it is critical to get the headline and report correct. Relived of duties would imply fired, but the school district said relived of duties until further notice, implying the suspension as you said. Headlines are everything, because if the coach ends up being reinstated, he could go after those who implied he was fired. Journalism integrity is important.

  13. To Everyone,

A new season is among us and I know this is going to be an active spot for football talk. However, what I will not tolerate is BLATANT DISREGARD for the Rules of the Forum which have been posted on here in current form since 2016 and just updated for color so people using any of the light or dark modes can see them more clearly.

I just had to ban a longtime user from the forums and honestly I am sick of it. I ask you all to police yourselves and most of you all do, but the few of you have been thinking it is okay to get away with it and I am tired of it. If you want to bully others including forum posters, coaches, players, fans, etc., please go elsewhere. I am not letting a few people ruin it for the rest of us that want to talk high school football on one of the most active message boards anywhere in Florida.  If you want to cuss people, say things you wouldn't dare say in front of your mama, then please see your way out of here.

I want this place to be fun for all, but end of the day, what ever is said here ends up on me at the end of the day and I responsible for it. Enough is enough.

Link to the forums in case you all need a refresher:

  14. The SSAC is now the SSAA. This should not come as a surprise to anyone as they have been growing a lot over the last few years and have added more sports since starting as just a football-only conference in 2008.

    STORY: https://floridahsfootball.com/2023/08/16/sunshine-state-athletic-conference-transforms-into-the-sunshine-state-athletic-association/

  15. Been working on this for a while now and finally came up with a formula that I think will work in predicting games and ranking teams. It is strictly based upon the numbers. As we go through the season I will work on any tweaks as needed and see how the PRI as I will call it for short will perform. The forecasts will only be available to MVP subscribers, so get on and subscribe now! https://floridahsfootball.com/subscriptions/
