Bayside went up to play Lowndes and lost 50-0 and 69-0 in back to back years for $25,000 total. I think that’s why so many garbage FL teams play good GA teams.
-
And did he “beg”? Or did he simply ask one sentence and see if anyone can help with fundraising? Every single team we have been apart of from 4 years old to high school has fund raised. I don’t remember begging anyone for money. But I guess I’m not a millionaire who coaches a transfer factory. Lol.

ALL programs in the state of Florida would love to have more money, and really need more. Teddy happens to have enough name recognition and reach- including wealthy current and former NFL players- that he may well succeed in getting money. Whether he succeeds or not, he's calling attention to the problem. (Of course, if the number of schools investing in football programs was sharply reduced, and all of the money which has been spread thin among poor programs was consolidated towards a smaller number of super programs, those super programs would be financed much more effectively.)

Could be for kids out of the zone who attend the school who are in a family situation that makes it extremely difficulty to attend practices, school, games etc all the time. Could be a single parent who works 2 jobs who has a kid transfer to MNW in hopes that the exposure could earn him a scholarship. We have no idea unless it’s explained. Ubers are expensive as hell. More than taxis used to be. My son’s school is 8 miles from our house. He needed a ride one day for football practice so we looked up Uber and they wanted $40!!
-
I don't know why this state is so far behind every other state football powers regarding coaching salaries and financial support? More evidence is Teddy having to use $14k of his own money last year. On a side note, isn't paying for uber rides an impermissible benefit? I mean if you didn't recruit kids out of your area, they wouldn't need those rides anyway Teddy... but I digress. https://www.the-sun.com/sport/14663753/teddy-bridgewater-miami-northwestern-donations/#:~:text=The free agent quarterback Bridgewater,team%2C the Miami Northwestern Bulls.&text=Bridgewater made a long plea,by the school through donations.

We lost some studs on defense, so that will be a wait and see. Shawn Simeon graduated, the #2 runner in the state, but we have a few young bucks that are willing to step up. This transfer portal is nuts, we have almost 60 kids in Collier that have changed schools. We lost 4, 2 of them would have been starters. Lely picked up a bunch and now arguable have the best QB (Brady Quinn) and RB {Nino Joseph) in the area. There offense was great last year and is only better now. If they can solidy that porous defense, they will be tough to beat. It took a Herculean effort to beat Port Charlotte last year and they look loaded again this year. I am hoping we can go 7-3. Getting back to the regional finals wil be a tall order.

I know we already have a thread about “Must See” classic games, but can we compile a list of all the preseason games? They should not appear on MaxPreps (although a few do list them there). I know a few in SW Florida Aubrey Rogers @ Cape Coral Barron Collier @ Cooper City Riverdale @ Dunbar Gulf Coast @ Naples Immokalee @ South Ft. Myers Oasis @ Palmetto Ridge Sarasota Riverview @ Port Charlotte

MLB Taurean Charles didn't last long as a Gator. At 6'3" 245lbs he dominated a pretty good defense his Jr and Sr years at Bethune-Cookman College in the 2005 and 2006 seasons. His fight with the coach ending with him on top only certified "physically" he was already a man among boys. It's a shame he never reached his full potential. - Last week

Thanks for sharing. Watched it this morning. Really enjoyed it. Got to know the MNW culture better. Loved seeing Ice Harris going off. Amazing Taurean was able to improve his test score by approximately 200 points from one test to the next. Did I get that right? Enjoyed watching him walk around the UF campus as he started realizing his college dreams. Plan on going to my share of Bulls games this year. -

Soul bowl this year is going to be at key. But another must see game will be homecoming Miramar at Dillard. Huge crosstown rival game with the football teams & the bands. dillard is also known for having the biggest homecoming tailgate for a high school which starts with the homecoming parade, which leads back to the school and from then it’s a all out family reunion with over 60 tenants dating all the way back to class of 1940. -

Mane!! I dam near cried driving by the stadium today, talk about massive overhaul. These home games this upcoming season is about to be INSANE! , and don’t let us host some playoff games. Man oh man. the blue end zones is gonna be LIT, even tho they are still working on the kinks and haven’t put the Words on each end zone yet. Plus the new score board still have to be put up. it’s still surprising as hell how fast their moving. Just 4 weeks ago I rode by and the field was nothing but dirt lol.

MarkECannon, If the FHSAA pays me, I'll do it. And I'll do it right. Nolebull813, Your list of new teams looks good but I'm not too sure about Victory Christian (Kissimmee). They fielded a team awhile back for a year or two. I have a feeling it may be a "sausage fingered" entry on a couple teams schedules, and they entered the Kissimmee school instead of Victory Christian (Lakeland). Just a guess. Also, Graceland is starting up again this year after a brief hiatus.
