  2. In a single word, "no." In a lot more words, see the following: (From 2023-24 FHSAA Handbook) 36.2 GENERAL DEFINITIONS 36.2.1 Athletic Recruiting. “Athletic recruiting” is any effort by a school employee, athletic department staff member or representative of a school’s athletic interests to pressure, urge or entice a student to attend that school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics. and this . . . 36.2.2 Improper Contact. “Improper contact” is contact, either directly or indirectly, whether in person or through written or electronic communication, by a school employee, athletic department staff member, representative of the school’s athletic interests or third parties, such as an independent person, business or organization, with a student or any member of the student’s family, in an effort to pressure, urge or entice the student to attend a different school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics. See Policy 37. In fact, if the kid contacts the coach at another school, the coach is not supposed to communicate with the kid other than to refer the kid to the person at the school responsible for admissions. Best I can tell, there is no exception for being able to reach out to a kid who plays a sport that is not offered by the school that the kid currently attends. Perhaps there should be . . . but then you'd really be opening Pandora's Box.
  3. So you are not allowed to talk to a kid who is not an active football player currently attending a school that doesn’t have a football team?
  4. 1. Ask around and get the kid's phone number. 2. Call the kid. 3. If that doesn't work, DM the kid. 4. Once communications are established, try to convince the kid to come to your school. There may be other ways, but I think this would be the easiest way to recruit a kid .
  5. So, after one very brief reading, it appears that the policy will be as follows: kids, you can cut an NIL deal, but it can't have anything to do with the school you're at or any school that wants you to come there or anyone associated with any of those schools (i.e., boosters).
  6. they have announced Lake Minneola's new head coach Mike McGlynn Spent time coaching at Windermere Prep, Celebration and lake Gibson after a solid NFL career
  7. Yesterday
  8. Because CIA no longer offers football he can play at another school and still attend CIA if he wants. He just can't have coaches from other programs REACHING OUT to him to do so.
  9. absolutely. there isnt anything illegal about that.
  10. So why should teams who are all star teams play non all star teams? The idea of Chaminade playing other 1 a teams is insane.
  11. He's from Springhill. He played his freshman year at Springstead.
  12. This is like someone getting kicked out on the streets, thanking everyone who offered to open their homes to him, but him informing everyone that he will be taking residence and refuge at one specific place.
  13. Doesn't matter if the player is in limbo or not. Coaches or anyone affiliated with the school are not allowed to talk to kids about playing for their program until they are enrolled in that school.
  14. I don't believe it is illegal as long as any bonus, supplement, perk, ect is coming from a booster club and not taxpayer money as part of the teacher salary or supplement.
  15. Last week
  16. correct, im still searching for the illegal part of the multimillionare that jumps into the bad school down the road, as their financial consultant and wants to give bill johnson the head coach at the good school over there, 50k to coach at his school. what part of that is illegal?
  17. Florida is still a "Right to Work" state. You can be fired for any reason or even no reason and you can choose to end employment by those same rules.
  18. what part of this is illegal?
  19. Hey you want to come use your talents at this much needed program? We will give you a financial incentive that could change entire fortune and future of your entire family for generations potentially. busted!!!!! That’s illegal!!!! He has to stay put and struggle to provide and screw his kids from going to college and screw his dream of owning a home. He has to stay where he is until they fire his ass or he quits with no job in place!!!!
  20. I saw a post-season interview with a head coach that had just won another state championship. He mentioned in the interview thew he had been approached afterward with an excellent offer. He did end up rejecting it and staying where he is. He didn't get into how he was approached or any other details. Great question, though.
  21. All of what you mentioned above is illegal. But yet all of what you mentioned are that tactics that’s used to “change those fortunes” lol smh. it’s just are you slick enough to not get caught or are you to cautious to NOT take the risk & trust the process of doing everything by the book.
  22. So if you are a public school with a failing football program and wanted to take it serious and get competitive, how are legally allowed to go about finding the top coaches to turn your fortunes around? Are you allowed to talk to a current coach employee by another school? Do you have to wait until they are fired and unemployed? Say you have some former alumni who made the pros and have a little money to throw around. Are they allowed to sweeten the deal and throw some money at a coach currently at another school? The former alum is not speaking as someone employed by a school: they are private citizen. Are they allowed to tell a coach I’ll give you a $25,000 check if you come to my former school. Maybe go buy a house and use it as a down payment. What’s the rules?
  23. How do you recruit a kid who is currently in limbo and doesn’t attend a school with a football program?
  24. New NIL bylaws being discussed at the upcoming FHSAA Board of Directors meeting. It's coming... https://fhsaa.com/documents/2024/5/7//BOD_Pkt_May_14_2024.pdf?id=5344
  25. In his announcement, he thanked coaches from other schools for REACHING OUT and giving him the opportunity to be a part of their program. That sounds like recruiting to me.
