Seems like his path forward is in the right lane. Believe that his past connection to both Pahokee's football program and his experience in college and the Canadian NFL will be truly something that will be appreciated.

Then the FHSAA is a toothless Tiger. If that is truly the case, then the Florida Legislature should edit their legislation to allow transfers for academic reasons only if that is not already in the bill. Schools would then be forced to adhere to the rules of the legislation. Otherwise, if things continue as is, HS football will become nothing more than a recruiting tool that colleges have become. Colleges could now care less what a HS football player's academic ability is. I would imagine it's becoming the same in HS where the administrations could care less what a football player's academic ability is. A sad day in this country where playing with a piece of pigskin is more important than what is produced in the classroom.

The amazing UCF did it again. Down by 2 to 3 TDs most of the game they put on an offensive show to beat Memphis 56-41 and win the American Athletic Conference championship. And, they did it with their backup QB. Maybe they will be looked at going forward as not just another college team in Florida.

While all of the Florida teams are limping through this season one team is burning up the turf. In the American Athletic Conference UCF is undefeated 11-0 and will play a team from the West Division, Memphis, this coming Saturday for the championship. UCF, during the regular season, already defeated Memphis and should do it again. I would love to see them go up against either UF, FSU, or UM. I've watched most of their games and IMO they play the same quality football as those three. Against South Florida, this weekend, their starting QB broke his leg. However, UCF still won by a big score with their backup QB  Redshirt Freshman Darriel Mack. Don't think it will matter that much against Memphis since Mack looked good against South Florida.

The facts won't convince a lot of people that the officials are not biased for or against one team or the other. In fact, the playoff officials are actually from areas where they would have little interest in either of the teams that they are officiating. But, you can't convince folks like the family at the Vanguard/Sebring game sitting next to me. I had to endure an entire game of a family of nitwits that were screaming at the officials using every vulgarity they could think of. The real problem was that they knew nothing about football and rules thereof.

Really? Just showing up? Pretty condescending attitude. You may be right. But, think how absurd you will look if the Colts do defeat TCA or even give them a good game.

I knew that the Colts had the athletes and an excellent QB. They did bring their A team tonight and defeated the best team in 5A and one of the best in the state. I don't know how good Cardinal Gibbons is but they better be ready for the Colts. Colts, let's not get too comfortable now. You still have a date in Orlando to deal with.

Surprisingly Crowley had 216 yards and 3 TDs against Braden River but TCA only defeated them by 5 points. Also TCA only passed for 49 yards in that game. That tells me that if you can shut down their passing game you can possibly defeat them even though their ground game is excellent. My way of thinking is that the Colts contain Jordan and slow down Crowley, get a good game from Wilsher, and they may just do it.

To tell you the truth I don't think that the Colts are as good as Columbia. This year, Columbia was an exceptional team and should have gone all the way. But, the Colts don't have to be as good as Columbia or any other team for that matter. They just have to play their game, execute, and limit penalties and mistakes. TCA is still only 11 players per play just like North Marion. I don't think that the Colts have any super achievers. They just have players that are well coached and that play well together. TCA has two or three super achievers. If they are marginalized then the teams are equal. I haven't a clue whether the colts can actually hang with TCA or not. It won't be for not giving everything they've got.
You know in 2006 my team Trinity Catholic went up to Jax to play TCA in the playoffs. TCA was undefeated at 11-0 and had a monster team with the best RB's I had ever seen on a HS team. The Celtics defeated them 45-0. But, nobody berated their team. We just congratulated the Conquerors even though they didn't win.  I would expect the same level of consideration in this game with a sister team of the Celtics.

Corey Wilsher/North Marion  128 completed/217 attempted, 2196 yards, 24 TD, 9 Int  .590 percentage. His stats are very similar to Jordan's of TCA. He is the reason that I think the Colts have a fairly good chance against TCA.

Just a reminder that Booster Stadium is charging $5 for parking and $8 for the game. However, it will be worth it as this is going to be the game of the week and worth every penny IMHO. For the Sebring and Lake Wales games the stands were nearly packed even though Booster Stadium is one of the largest in Florida. I would expect standing room only after 7 PM.

Proseteye got a reaction from 181pl in Vanguard over Lake Wales in 6A Round Two
The Knights dominated on defense and earned a 19-0 shutout win over the Highlanders on Friday night in the Class 6A, Region II playoffs.
Vanguard pressured Lake Wales on 17-of-29 dropbacks in the passing game, with 13 of those coming on 16 passing attempts in the first half.
Bryce Langston (four quarterback hurries, four knockdowns) and Andre Jones (two sacks, forced fumble, tackles for loss), Malik Pertee, Jordan Monroe and Tyler Kirkland-Lecorn (sack, tackle for loss) weren’t blocked all night by the Highlander offensive line.
Lake Wales ended with 65 yards rushing on 23 carries and finished with 160 yards of total offense.
Trevonte Rucker continued his stellar postseason play with 113 yards rushing on 13 carries, as well as a solid passing night (7-of-11, 132 yards, two touchdowns).
Both of Rucker’s scoring passes went to Leonard Manuel (four catches, 86 yards, two touchdowns).
In the win over the Highlanders, Vanguard finished with 375 yards, keyed by 243 yards rushing on 44 carries.
And to think Rucker is only a Sophomore. He's going to be around for another two seasons.
Manuel is the player I was talking about previously. He's a complete WR and it doean't hurt that he's 6' 5" and 220.
Old school lion had reservations about Vanguard's defense, in an earlier post. I agreed that in two or three regular season games the defense looked anything but stellar. However, in the two playoff games so far this defense is certainly lights out.
Next Friday the Knights host tough and skilled Armwood at Booster Stadium. I'm thinking, though, that this may be the time that Armwood meets its match.

It's pretty much the same way for most other schools. We live in a very selfish and self centered society these days. If something is not entertaining them 24/7 then they get bored and move on. Any lull in the action and they disappear, whether at a football game or at a dinner table. You would think with the incredibly good season that Columbia has had that the fans would support the team to the bitter end. Unfortunately, this is the way of the future.
I feel for you Columbiafan. Such great prospects and you lose to a team that you probably should have defeated. A terrible letdown. I know. But, there is only one team that can win the championship. So, many other teams did or will experience losses just like Columbia. Look forward to next year just as I have with Trinity Catholic over the last 4 seasons.

I can't effectively address what Vanguard did in their other games as I only attended the Sebring game. My team is Trinity Catholic and I was at those games during the season. All that I can determine is that this Vanguard team only allowed 7 points against Sebring and that was a complementary TD in the last seconds of the game. Was also against a QB Williams who had a .704 passing percentage and a team that was averaging just under 40 ppg.  The thing to consider is that Vanguard is the only undefeated 6A team in the state. No matter how they won those games, they did win them. I understand your analytics and appreciate them. Whether they are real time concerns, I don't know. Coach Farmer's concern is getting his team ready to take on another very good team in Lake Wales with an even more prolific passing attack than Sebring. However, as I see it, Lake Wales is going to have enough on their plate in finding a way to stop 6' 5" WR Leonard Manuel and tough dynamo RB Kimo Clarke. Not an easy task.

First things first. Vanguard has to get by Lake Wales and Armwood has to get by Lake Weir. Lake Weir should not be slept on. They defeated a pretty tough Michell team by coming back with two scores in the 4th quarter. They also have one of the best passing games around. If I were Armwood I would not be making hotel reservations in Orlando just yet. Now, Armwood may blow them out. But, that is not a given. The game still has to be played.

All four Marion County playoff teams won last night.
    6A Vanguard over Sebring 35-7
6A Lake Weir over Mitchell 30-21
5A North Marion over Menendez 27-22
4A Dunnellon over South Sumter 41-13
I was at the Vanguard game and it was an excellent team against a very good team. This is the first time this season that I have been to a Vanguard game. They are definitely the real deal and will be difficult for any other playoff team to defeat. Too many good players and good coaching. Sebring is a very disciplined team with some exceptional players but were just overcome by too many horses.
Like I stated before, Lake Weir is not the doormat it once was. Came back from a two TD deficit in the 4th quarter to get by Mitchell on their field. We will see what they are made of next Friday when they go up against Armwood. Difficult task indeed. But, one never knows.

The Vanguard defense will have to slow down or shutdown the Sebring QB DJ Williams. He is a do it all QB with good passing stats and he is also the leading rusher on the team. Seems as though most of his passing attempts are to WR Norris Taylor who has almost all of the team's receiving yards. So it's basically a two man operation. I feel that the Knight's D will slow him down tonight and get the win.
Lake Weir is a lot better team than their stats. They have a high powered passing attack. Jr QB Simpkins has 2,200 yards passing and one of their WR's Sr Dillard has nearly 1,200 receiving yards although they have 3 other good WR's. Simpkins also does a lot on the ground with 640 yards and 10 TD's. They have a lot of Seniors on their defense so this is as good as they are going to get. Mitchell has proved in the past that they are one tough team to beat. Like Mike Tyson they just keep hitting you until you fall down. Lake Weir is going to have their hands full especially on Mitchell's field.

Well, since nobody is talking about Vanguard I'll go first. Seems like south Florida and Lake City dominate this board although I think that Vanguard is #1 in 6A unless I'm mistaken.
Know absolutely nothing about Sebring so maybe some folks from that area can help me out.
As far as I can determine they are 8-2 and score a lot of points. Average about 43 ppg about the same as Vanguard. Their defense gives up 17 ppg. Vanguard 13 ppg. Seems they've only played 2 serious teams in Hardee and Lake Wales. Had a nail biter with Hardee going to 2 OT's. Also played Lake Wales somewhat close. They did lose to both. Seem to have a do it all QB in DJ Williams both in the air and on the ground. He's the leading rusher on this team. Looks as though they have one primary WR in Norris Taylor and he looks like a good one. I think that the game will be played in Ocala but not sure. Think I will actually head on out to Booster Stadium if the game is in Ocala. I'm sure that Vanguard, as always, will have their hands full.

In order to get to the top 3  or even the top 10 you have to have played and defeated elite teams and pretty much gone undefeated. Where have CC, MC, and STA beaten elite teams? Have any of these teams played elite type teams week in an week out? Have any of them gone on the road OOS to defeat any team? Sorry, have to disagree with your assessment. I don't think that any Florida team this season, with the exception of IMG, can be considered a top team. Every time that IMG has played MC they have defeated them pretty handily. STA won't play IMG. Don't know about CC.
