Western actually generally has talent, they just can't hold on to it. They even lose talent to Dade County at times. Neighboring rival Cypress Bay and Western generally pick up players from a solid Davie Bronco youth program. Loads of D1 players have gone through Western over the years. One that they actually held on to went on to UM, and is now a Oakland Raider in Jonathan Feliciano.
Western offensively will be better than last. Last year their D was legit. If they bring back a better than average D , they will likely be a playoff team at least as strong as last year IMO.

Think Western's gonna be good again?  I figured that was a one hit wonder.  

Got a feeling Jones makes some noise.   I was curious when I saw them schedule St. Johns DC.   Apparently they have their fair share of D1 players.   Not at the level of AHP, but still.   Put Fl in the search on the bottom and rank them by the number of D1s.   Pretty cool site.   Anyways Jones has 7 and it's early in the process.

By the way Florida just owns in the D1 offer category.

Both look decent on tape.   It's crazy you can rack up 1k+ yards in South Florida and not get any offers.   Then at STA he'll get offers and not even play much.   College recruiters are so damn lazy nowadays.  

PV played at a very high level against AHP.   The QB executed the offense beautifully.   I think we all came away impressed.  When a QB and his WRs are on the same page like that you can find a way to stay in any game IMO.
 
 I don't think it was so much the team speed, I think Venice overall might actually have been faster, but Venice relied on their run game a lot to win games.  Wasn't going to work against STA (or AHP to be honest), BUT in my opinion AHP's offense was even more pedestrian than STA's early season.   They really just let most teams hang around with lazy drives and didn't really light the scoreboard up.
   
AHP vs Venice would have been more of a 31-16 type game IMO.     Even their D, loaded with studs, played vanilla a lot of the time.  

Yeah it's hard to tell because the last two OOS teams Oscar Smith played were against BTW in 2014 and Dematha last year.   Both those team were top 10 in the nation easily, and both teams gave them a beat down.   Obviously, still a very tough test for Vero, but if Vero is as good as last year I think they can hang.   If not, it might be a rough night.  

Serrano picked up his first fbs offer from Syracuse. Jahmar Brown 2019 class LB w fbs offers transfer to STA from Monsignor Pace.

To my knowledge there were several "key" returning players in the group including QB Kyle Kaplan... but D1 is a stretch. Some 2019/2020 type kids could definitely pan out as strong players though. It's early so some of those CS kids that realize they may not see the field, may end up transferring out or back to CS as well. Either way for DB it is more options on the table. Between Coral Springs High, Monarch, Coconut Creek and perhaps other schools, DB ahould reload soundly. The Coconut Creek AYFL program in the top division has been pretty good the last 2-3 years -if I am not mistaken. We'll see where those kids land in that area.

I tend to think so with MNW.   CC will be good, but I'm not sure they'll be better.   They lose some good players.   Miami Northwestern I think gains more than they lose.  MNW was young as hell last year and did amazing IMO, I didn't expect them to be the contenders they were.   
  Plus the most important thing that MNW has in my opinion is that lightning fast QB.  He just gives everyone problems.

On paper, The West should be better than last season. I think they will be on the field as well. Personally I think the district title will come down to them and Central. I think CC is good enough to make the playoffs. I don't think they'll be as good as last season, but still pretty good.

Definitely could be an 8A opportunity for Atlantic. I state that not only with Atlantic potentially already possibly looking stronger than last year but also on the overall regression of 8A South (particularly in Broward) to continue from last year. Atlantic definitely has a shot to make a run.

I hear ya...no need to debate too much on it but to me Archbishop McCarthy was a slightly better and slightly more dynamic version of Stoneman Douglas last year.
Every year Archbishop finishes much more polished than they start lately. I won't even bother to get into the level of coaching.
There are some great players in the Independent league. NBP and Calvary Christian are no pushover either. NBP's RB landed at Air Force, and they had a couple other players as well. One of the top WRs in Broward this year is arguably Kevin Austin of NBP who can basically go anywhere he pleases....LB Diego Fagot of Calvary Christian was an absolute beast and one of the top LBs in Broward this past year as well.
WR Samuel Oshodi is another great player out of Coral Glades that just landed at STA.
Oxbridge was in the Gold Coast a couple years ago as well....

Apparently STA was trying to get a game with Corona Centennial another very high profile Cali team, but it fell through.   I personally am a little disappointed by the schedule, but so many schools are stealing the better OOS games nowadays.    St. John Bosco is a top team though.   Very high profile, just wish they could have gotten a couple more.   Then again we always have the chance for that end of the season bowl game.  

I hope they play though, would be great!
