LOL...Those same fans will be in Orlando this Thursday, betting the Pahokee fans that Baker will win. Some GC fans have rooted for Newberry, Trenton, and Madison since their season has been over. Especially when Pahokee went down against Newberry and Trenton.

I sat with some Glades Central fans when Trenton played at Pahokee and i can tell ya most of the guys i spoke with dont like Pahokee at ALL. LOL

Pahokee's first opponent this year (Wayne Hills), wins the rest of their games and wins the New Jersey group 4 State Championship.

Wow! .....That face guarding call was horrible. The WR pushed the DB so hard, he almost fell.

I totally agree, Madison could not stop the run at all. Pahokee's running backs were getting 9 yards a pop. They even had success running the wildcat.
 
I have to give it to Madison County, they did stop the pass. But that shows just how balanced Pahokee's offense is this year.
 
The Madison team that I saw in Pahokee? ...In my opinion they wouldn't have beat Trenton or Newberry this year.

Madison didn't really stop him. The OC kinda went away from the run and it lead to some turnovers. He was getting 7/8 a pop. Madison didn't think that Pahokee could run the ball, so they played 2-deep all night. I don't think their corners would've held up all night without the safeties over top....That's why I said Madison wasn't what I expected. Pahokee was gashing them with the simplest running play.

I agree 561. It's kinda hard to stop the option every play, especially when you have the athletes that Trenton and Newberry had. Trenton ran that offense with precision! A good running back is gonna get his yards. But a "bend but don't break" philosophy is good.
 
Last year for example, Ft. Meade's running back "Tyler King" gashed Pahokee for 200 yds rushing... And Ft. Meade lost that game 28-0.

So basically Trenton had close to (or over) 300 yards rushing in the 1st half?

You said the same thing about Newberry and Trenton, Both moved the ball very well, Trenton just could not stop Pahokee and there passing game. Pahokee may very well win the Championship because they have a very talented group of receivers and real solid QB. But Madison is a Quality team as well.  

Just like it's an adjustment for Pahokee to defend the option (they don't see it that much), it's gonna be an adjustment for teams that don't have to defend the pass on the regular basis. Just because teams have fast players, that doesn't mean they can matchup with kids that have been doing it all year (D1 talent)

I foresee Pahokee to be beat and banged up after a physical game with Newberry last week! Whereas, Trenton breezed through frostproof. Should be a barn burner for sure though!

Agree 100%. Didn't think 1A was going to have so many good matchups.

Call me crazy, and I'll come back and eat crow if I have to, but I don't see Trenton moving the ball on Pahokee's Defense. (Especially a week after Pahokee played Newberry)
 
If Trenton has a better passing game, then they have a better chance. I think most people are in "awe" of Pahokee's QB, but it's Pahokee's Defense that's going undetected. That Defense is pretty solid.
 
And correction...Newberry had more than a running game. That was a "TRAIN" (Newberry's RB) coming straight at Pahokee that whole first half.

The kid at Newberry is good, but he is no game breaker. I can tell you now if Trentons' fullback(Jackson) or QB hit some of the holes Newberry ran through it will be six points not 20 yards. Trentons' skill people are way faster than Newberry. All that being said Pahokee should have the advantage playing at home. If Pahokee has to drive the ball and can't big play Trenton I see Trenton winning. If they can throw it over the top advantage Pahokee. Should be a good one either way.

Pahokee shut the run down in second half but newberry doesnt pass trenton has better passing game thne newberry easily. I just seen Newberry's RB highlights says he ran for 240 yards on pahokee if thats true Pahokee has hard time stopping run even tho they did in second half tells me Newberry should of been mixing up the pass and run but when you live by the run you can die by it as was shown in that game.  I see this as close game but going to give the edge to Pahokee by 3. Pahokee has nice QB seen he just picked apart Newberry.

While Trenton and Newberry's run game philosophies are similar, Newberry ran the ball this year with brute force where as Trenton's run game thrives on discipline. This game is going to be nasty close and I'm going with Trenton because those boys know how to compete and win a dog fight.
 
However, ultimately I don't think its going to be Trenton's O or Pahokee's D that determines this one. Trenton is going to move the ball and they're going to score points. What its going to come down to is can Trenton contain Pahokee's athletes on offense. Discipline offenses win games through time of possession and field position, but an offense loaded with athletes can score quick and often. If it came down to it I don't think Trenton can win a shoot out. If Trenton can't contain their athletes on the offensive side of the ball it could turn into a long night for the Tigers. It should be a classic!

Pahokee played a harder schedule overall and perhaps a few schools close to the size of the Newberry OL and DL.   
 
I was thinking of the PB County Home games next week .  1A and 3A games in PB County  are HUGE!  

We agree on the " not great at it" part maybe they won't have to. I think I read somewhere that Newberry wouldn't run the veer on pahokee. Maybe they didn't I didn't see the game but TTown has a couple rings doing it to people. If they have to rely on the pass though it could be a long night.

Newberry's team rushed the field before the Ref's unpiled the bodies at the line. When the bodies were unpiled, Pahokee's QB clearly had the ball extended over the goal line. For the most part, it was a clean called game to me. Newberry's Offensive line was doing a lot of holding/tackling but it never called. 

Broward, this was one of the best H.S. Football games that I've personally seen in a while. Hats off to Newberry, they stuck with that veer but it cost them in the second half. Pahokee made adjustments and shut it down in the second half. I was impressed with Newberrys skill players. I was NOT impressed with their O/D lines. Those guys (Newberry) were HUGE. There was an obvious size advantage. Either Newberry's line is overrated, or Pahokee is just that good. I haven't quite figured it out yet.

Sounds like one of the best first round 1A games in history.  Great showing by both teams.

#5 RB Newberry is not slow by any means and is a big at 225lbs and runs north and south. 3rd in 1A in rushing yards. On defense newberry has the two D1s on dline we shall see how pahokees o line fairs against Durden and Parks.

This truly a bad match up for both teams. Can Newberry handle Pahokee's speed on the edges and the passing game and can Pahokee stop Newberry's power running game. I was leaning Newberry earlier but now having second thoughts. And don't get me wrong just because I'm saying Newberry has a power running game does not mean they don't have speed too !
