Well, hope none of this nonsense happens next week when we travel to Seminole.

The Seminole player that got ejected felt like Rockledge disrespected them during warm-ups by crossing over the 50 and going into their warmups

I seen Rockledge played Seminole close. Do you think Seminole might be down a bit or is Rockledge playing out of their minds?

Word from the players and coaches in twitter spaces is that there were a Lotta points left on the field by Seminole. Both squads were undisciplined. With Seminole getting a player ejected at the coin toss. They were also down 5 defensive starters

They used to a little, Sebastian just got a kid this year from Vero, a couple of the Sebastian/Fellsmere kids are up at Palm Bay Bayside from what I’ve been told.

The transfer from Rockledge lives in Sebastian area as well.

I believe Jones' QB is from Polk County. Played at Plant City last year.

Venice has two mobile QBs. Glasser is a very strong runner. They will play like Florida did with Tebow, or like Auburn did with Cam Newton. They want to run the ball 80% of the time, and force you to give very simplistic coverages they can exploit through the air. But, whatever Cocoa does, if their DL is dominant, they'll be able to limit Venice to the typical cheap scores they always get.

Dereon Coleman is a game changer for Jones. The senior QB Jackson wasn't able to do anything against Cocoa. Honestly if Venice is run heavy they'll play right into Cocoa's strength and Cocoa's secondary showed that they are very capable of holding their own eventhough they are younger than last season they have plenty of experience on the backend. Had to replace all 4 starters who went all went D1 Ohio State, Old Dominion, Eastern Michigan and Bethune. The secondary is very opportunistic.

I haven't seen Cocoa yet. But, if their trenches are on par with Armwood, yes. Armwood went 0 coverage a lot and totally stopped Venice until the Indians hit a couple deep balls. But, Armwood's corners are excellent. The calculus was good for them using 0 coverage. If Cocoa's corners aren't quite as good (likely) they'll have to do it a little differently. But, I'd say Cocoa should be a slight home favorite.

Just watch their game against Jones. Their front 7 is top notch and trench work breaks through 75% of the time. If Venice QB is athletic then he will be able to by sometime but depending on how Cocoa schemes their coverage for Venice there could be alot of coverage sacks. One of Cocoa's edge rushers had atleast 4 sacks on his own. They made great adjustments as well to stop deep balls. Jones Sophmore QB is definitely going to be a 5 star QB by the end of his junior season if not sooner.

Venice's problem is they are still weak in the trenches. Armwood exposed that. The OL is the same as the weak one last year, plus the modest improvements that experience can bring. The DL played only four guys all year long last year, and all graduated. They got an IMG discard and a young sophomore who will eventually be good. But, they're overmatched there at the moment. The linebackers are, again, not state championship caliber.

Ultimately, I think the hype/promo approach taken by Peacock is an effective approach. I'm sure he'll be full of excuses and will tell us that it should have been 250-34 Venice. But, when it comes down to it, you can't get beaten up front and be a top team.

Sounds like their line play will be exposed even more next week on the road.

So they are gonna get the doors blown off them by Duncanville

The coaches are confident in twitter spaces but the bet is over/under for point spread for their game vs the Cocoa v STA game. I believe the defense will keep it good for the first quarter then they'll get worn out. Too big of a task to not have all the offensive weapons. But I do know rockledge will be doing alot of cut blocks

They will this time. Their offensive line is even better than it was last year. Still have some very dynamic receivers and a stout defensive line. And a great coach in Ryan Schneider. Cocoa should stomp everything in their path.

They still have a new QB and the difference between him and the past 4 QBs Cocoa had is that he is inexperienced and a underclassmen. So the first 3 games are gonna be an eye opener and working in fire situation for him. He's only played a few games at the Varsity level in cleanup duty for Melbourne. The offensive line is the key this season they are a year older and all upperclassmen. Defense will always be stout per usual.

We need fewer classes. Too much power became consolidated into too few teams when the FHSAA decided to expand to 9 classifications. This is why you can practically write in the state championships now. These teams will mostly have cakewalk regions to get there.  If a team gets transfers and is able to compete with Cocoa in 2S then so be it. Cocoa is going to steamroll until proven otherwise.

Y'all do realize that Cocoa didn't steamroll every team they faced in the playoffs right

Let some other public school in 2S recruit up a team and that school ends up beating Cocoa and you'll see demands for an investigation quick.

So you're claiming Cocoa is recruiting?

I refuse to believe all schools in the state are scared to play MC. MC is somewhat of a brand now. I don't think they go after certain teams which dumb. Why not reach out to Orlando Boone, Edgewater, Apopka, etc. And then there's the issue of where's the game gonna be played.

I believe Rockledge reached out to play Central but that got turned down due to Rockledge not being on their caliber to boost Central schedule. Which as a Rockledge alum I understand completely because Rockledge hasn't won a major game where they were underdogs or the team was a known challenge in a while now. And that was verified by a Rockledge and Central coach on Twitter spaces.

Go 15-0 with the kind of schedule Cocoa is playing and you'll have a serious argument for being top 10 nationally!

Going undefeated with that schedule would be tough for them ending it as state Champs with 2 losses max would be the most likely outcome. But since they are starting out in the top 50 if they did manage to go undefeated they would've played and beat atleast 6 or 7 teams in the top 300 with 1 in the top 10 and I believe 3 or 4 in the top 150

I can see Cocoa's entire team being better than last year. Receiving corps is even better than last year. Every game they play is going to be competitive. Can't wait to watch them play STA!

Receiving corps lost their top and most explosive upperclassmen to MCC. And a couple transferred out but they should be on par with the past couple seasons. Still don't know what the running game, new QB and DB's are gonna look like as a whole. But the DBs all have experience since they got playing time young

If they go undefeated and Mater Dei, SJB, St. Frances, and IMG all lose a game somewhere, the natty is theirs.

Mater Dei and SJB play each other twice which always determines the national title like last season, SFA plays arguably the toughest schedule in the nation, IMG will most likely lose to SFA, but SFA will not come out of their schedule without a loss.
