I had dinner with Jerry Jones in Dallas if that counts. I’ve also played golf with Jim Furyk and David Duval.
One of the benefits of working for a very wealthy man, if only he’d pay me more haha

I can’t complain too much, he pays me much more than I am worth!

Legalization of the good old weed may be the solution. Parents of kids can be offered some rural farm land for cultivation as an inducement to country living! Green Acres is tha place to be ... !

Any true fan of Apopka football is appreciative of what he has done with the program. Before RD, Apopka was a difficult Central Florida team to play. He upped the ante and made the program a state threat.
Should Mr. Darlington depart, I wish him success in Alabama. He certainly gave me many memorable moments while he has coached the Blue Darters.

Duval and Clay. Still have friends throughout the area in Duval, Clay, St Johns, and Nassau.
There was heavy transfers but this has caused an almost epidemic. There is a lawlessness in Duval where you never seem to know whose going where and why they are going there.

That is exactly what i keep trying to explain to people

People think all private schools are loading up d1 players and stealing opportunities from publics when in reality it's a select few and the majority of the privates don't come close to competing with the publics

I’ll go with same score as last time Bolles vs TCA played. Competitive first half but overwhelming second half.
I think Northeast Florida has legit shot at 3 titles: UC, Raines, and TCA. 4 for those who consider Lake City in that.

Agree 100%. They will be extremely good next year but they aren’t winning a title this year.

Well they wanted to win those games and they tried really hard.  They are also really good at coin flips and in the end that is what matters most.

And I’m certainly not saying all 1a teams complain about it (I’ve got friends from Madison Co and Pahokee who certainly say otherwise) but I’ve heard some things that didn’t sit well with me.
I think the average 1a team is considerably better than the average 2a team & the same with the top teams.

Columbia by 50. Only one Bolles player starts on Columbia’s team.
Mandarin is the better team. More talented, bigger, and Ramsey is a dang good coach. I just don’t know if they’re planning on sitting guys or not

    1) Sense of pride. When you’re from a small town and you grew up going to HS football games, guess what? Support is going to be much higher than if you’re from Tampa and you have a 10,000 other options on a Friday night.
    2) In stable communities you tend to have feeder programs that build directly up to the HS and so you have 10-15 new freshman each year in all sports who have experience doing the sport. Of course you’re going to be better than most.
    3) As a guy who has seen firsthand the growth of Fleming Island athletics (I’ve lived there since 1996, well before it was opened), you need parental support, administrative support, and hard work to win. It is certainly much easier there than in inner city schools.

Bartram is up over 2600 students. Talked to my buddy who lives over there. Said he thinks they should be on border of going up@ColumbiaHighFan2017class

Jags904 got a reaction from DarterBlue2 in High School Announces Emergency Job Cuts after Spending Millions on Athletic Facilities
The real issue is they pay for these massive stadiums but it needs a full grounds crew to maintain. All for what, 5 games? It’s insanity to me and I’m a huge HS football fan (obviously).
I am not in the classroom, thank the Lord for that, but I’d be about ready to kill someone if I lost my job because of this.

From what I understand, a lot of these big stadiums are funded by taxes the residents of these communities. And the residents do this because they want them. The people in charge of these districts just shrug their shoulders and say "If that's how the people want to spend their money, let them."
I can't imagine anything like this ever happening in Florida. Thank goodness, too, because if I had to lose my job because the District blew all of our cash and realized after the fact that they couldn't afford it I would go crazy. I feel for the people who lost jobs because of this. And, of course, the kids. They'll end up suffering for it too.

I was at the game tonight (2nd time I’ve seen both times: Bolles vs UC and Bishop Kenny vs Ponte Vedra). Bolles won this game late, were down 28-16 with less than 5 minutes left. Very exciting finish.

The refs have to get control of the game and the administration needs to get control of their coaches. Plain and simple.
Ive seen refs allow kids to punch other kids in the face and throw no flags. Coach gets flagged yelling at the refs to do something. Then a brawl breaks out three plays later. Whose fault is that? The refs. Not the kids nor the coaches.
Administration of both schools need to get together on a Saturday afternoon and bring both coaches in and tell them that this stuff needs to be settled right then and there or they are both gone.

I’m very familiar with the 904 as a whole. The problem is they graduated like 18 starters and 32 guys who got significant playing time. They have also had some bad injuries and have had to start a QB who can’t make the throws, as almost any team would have to on QB #4. They’ve also got a really talented freshman group, like seriously talented.
Im not concerned about the program at all. They will be fine, they got a good head coach and a great system from pop warner on up. Bad luck has caused this year to be a bad one for them but they will be fine. Look for them to return to final four contention next year.
