Good observation. Saw that and spoke with the QB position coach on Monday - luckily he's fine. Charley Horse it seems.

If they're making good time, they could even pick up Trinity Catholic Ocala, Hawthorne and MadCo along the way.
Hmmm, I wonder if anyone has ever thought about light rail in Florida.

Arrogance = General Custer; tempered confidence = Eisenhower.

And for that same personal quality, some people are attracted to them, many people mistakenly align  "arrogance" with strength, or a sign of leadership ability. But I agree with you: it results in a lack of desire for self improvement and ultimately very limited thinking.
Tempered confidence, on the other hand is an asset for any coach, player, or leader. But they are not the same.

To be honest, I have never met the man in person. That's why I reserved my judgment if you read my post carefully. But I will say this: He tends to come over as overly arrogant. I guess, I don't have great love for arrogant people. Why? The believe they know it all and because of that core belief, they stifle their own ability to grow.

Gotcha, It is puzzling how they went downhill after that performance but I could say we’re looking at it from the wrong pov. BG Chaminade & Norland are all Top 15 teams. It’s weird tho seeing that they were all games a single play decided. All winnable games by many accounts.

I get that, I'm just talking about the fall after BG. Anyway, I may have spoke too soon, Rockets stormed back with 21 unanswered points.

From nearly beating the #1 team in the nation at their place on week 0, we now see them getting beaten for probably the 2nd time this season by Norland. I mean dogged right now. And Norland is good, but not THAT good. I know they QB went down in that 1st loss to the Vikings, but this is crazy for a school that had like 30+ transfers and hopes for a natty a couple months ago. @MC Rockets you got the story?
3rd quarter, Norland is up 3 scores on the Rockets.

That's crazy - for playoffs in particular. Two years ago Columbus drove up to Savannah to play Benedictine and then the next week up to Jacksonville to face Bartram Trail - 1,400 miles total over two consecutive weekends, It was brutal. Coach Dunn said he is never doing that again. But at least these weren't even district games much less playoffs.  Seems like they should set up a neutral site roughly half way for playoffs. To much on the kids.

Perhaps the schools in the panhandle should be allowed to play in the Alabama or Georgia playoffs instead if they wanted to . . . it could be called "State Choice."

Didn't UCF beat the team that beat the National champs?
NCAA officially recognizes UCF football’s national championship claim
UCF’s 2017 college football national title claim is no longer a statement from the Florida university or it’s fan base. The Knights are now in the NCAA record book as co-national champions with Alabama for the 2017 season. Colley Matrix ranked UCF as the national champions for the 2017 season in its final poll. This.
Unfortunately, here is the world of perverse incentives: if one has a choice the "right" thing, or the "wrong" thing; the thing that helps the kids, or the things that don't; the things that lift up society, or the things that bring it down, the choice is always predictable in each of these scenarios: we invariably choose the one that is profitable.
Almost every social ill can be boiled down to this.

Regardless of the merits of the many plans put forth here, one thing needs to be kept in mind.  In reviewing the 2022-23 FHSAA Financial Report, about $2.5 million in revenue was earned from FHSAA postseason competitions, undoubtedly the vast majority from football playoff ticket sales.  This revenue goes to support the operations and many other activities that the FHSAA sponsors.  So I would not expect the FHSAA to reduce the number of classifications (and thus the number of playoff games) any time soon.  Or in the words of the astute Nulli Secundus, "follow the money".
