Class 1A - Region 3 Will Madison County Repeat?

This region features 6 playoff teams from last season, including defending 1A champion Madison County(those with a double asterisk).  5 of those playoff teams were in this region last season.  Last year's region finalist Chielfand moves over to 1A Region 4 and Fort White joins Region 3 , moving down from 3A.  Fort White defeated both Union County and Dixie County last year during the regular season.  Fort White and Madison County last met in the 2016 1A playoffs.  Madison County scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to win that game 21-17.  These two have met 4 times in the past 6 years, and all of the games have been close (MC won 3 and FW one once).  It will be interesting to see if Fort White can challenge the Cowboys again this year.   Team records from this past season are listed below.
