If cocoa won Friday would that really be an upset right now tho ?

It would be an upset. St. Thomas lost to the number 1 rated team in the country. While the game was not very close, it was not a blowout by any means. Would I be very surprised if Cocoa beat them? No, but if it's one of the games selected for our contest, I will have to go with St. Thomas.

You're probably spot on too, I actually thought about their offense right after I posted this and I heard their receivers are successful track stars

Most of their seniors and their secondary run track. They have done well at State track in recent years.

The way to beat Seminole is to hit them with the unexpected on offense and then shut down, as much as possible, their high powered offense.

TC revamped their offense this year, as they were shut down by Apopka two years ago and by Osceola last year, as evidenced by the 3 passing TD’s against Jesuit.
In the past they would go whole games without even attempting a pass, much less have anything for a TD. While the single wing is still the core of their offense, they do switch out of it now from time time. But I am sure it’s nothing the Seminoles haven’t seen before from Apopka.

Perhaps they have. But the year APK shut them down, they had scored around 60 on Cocoa in a big shootout that ended with, I think, a 3 point margin separating the two teams.

On a tangentially related matter, congrats to the Colorado Buffaloes on its huge win against TCU who was in the National Championship game last year. I will note, that Jimmy Horn, JR., a Sanford Seminole wide receiver on their 2020 state title team played well and put points on the board for Colorado.

Very heartening to see the Greater Orlando area representing!

Treasure Coast is looking good against a difficult schedule, I believe they'll beat Seminole at home but will lose to STA

I believe you are wrong. Seminole is used to seeing a more sophisticated version of the Single Wing than TC runs. So, while they won't shut it down completely, they will limit it. Seminole has a lot of firepower on offense. Seminole 28, Treasure Coast 21.

I tried to watch a couple games on NFHS last night and both were literally unwatchable as one had something seemingly covering half the lense and the other game was too blurry to make out what was going on.  I don't expect professional level production but come on, at least be able to see the games that are on.

You should offer a serviceable product when you are charging for it.

  6. All things human come to an end. Today's winningest programs could easily be tomorrow's punching bags in a decade or two. We never know what the future holds.

In the case of the "muck" economic changes have lead to demographic changes which are largely responsible for the current state of muck football, excluding Pahokee, which still fields decent, if not all world, teams.

O okay good luck bro I’ll be making the drive to Naples tonight (don’t really feel like it tho lol) but for Dillard it’s wherever whenever.

I believe you will see a good game. Good luck to the Dillard Panthers.

Later this year, I may come watch a Dillard game if you are still in the hunt as my niece puts on the Thanksgiving celebration this year. She lives in Broward County, so I will likely go to a South Florida unless Apopka has what I consider a critical playoff matchup.

That’s wassup bro. And isn’t Naples high the only high school in Naples lol ? And when was the last time you seen them play.

Last time I saw them was at Camping World in Orlando. They beat St. Augustine for the state title. Along the way, they knocked off a Miami team. That was about 10 years ago, give or take a year or two.

I wonder how he came down to that conclusion.

my only thing when jobs does rankings & predictions especially on south Florida schools is that he has zero knowledge about us down here unless it’s Miami central or sta or something, so he’s not able to give an accurate assessment nor prediction.

but he does the best that he can do I respect it. Now if Dillard don’t show up & get to a great start and impose their will ; it can very well get ugly on the road against a team whose very good at home.

I’m taking that 2 hour trip tho so they ass better show up LMAO LOL.

32 years ago, I almost took a job in Naples with Westinghouse Communities, later WCI Communities, and now a subsidiary of Lennar. I passed on the job because while Naples was beautiful, I felt it was not for me. Had I taken that job, most likely my kids would have gone to Naples High.

My daughter has lived on Bayshore Blvd since 2012. The water spillover was the highest she had ever seen. It did recede in her area enough to walk her dog a couple of times ( maybe on MacDill ?) before noon. High tide was 12:30pm.

I am glad your daughter was only mildly inconvenienced by the water, Dan. Has she taken the exam, yet? Please wish her the best of luck for me.

That looks like it works out fine for Vero, as they appear to have a bye next Friday night (9/8).   But PBG will play Vero on Wednesday and then turn around and play Dwyer on Friday???   Wow.

It's a good thing Dwyer is not a powerhouse like it used to be.

Hold on, when the foul was committed had the ball already been caught by the receiver?

No, as I stated earlier, the local on-line paper stated that an Apopka player (unnamed) had briefly stepped out of bounds before the ball was caught (it is not cleared whether it had yet been thrown, based on the article).

The play was a pass, correct?

Yes. The line of scrimmage was about the Apopka 40; the ball was snapped low to the APK QB who was in the gun. But he handled it well, and immediately hurled it downfield to the receiver who caught it in stride.

When the TD was called back, the ball was spotted very near mid-field, if I remember correctly.
