Thanks for the clarification on that one James.  I can just imagine the people that are not aware of that - drawing conclusions on that one.  "TCA...They're not that good this year!" - "They lost to North Marion AND Lee"  
 
Should they go and blast Cocoa - now what? Those people are baffled.
 
Ahh.....so many conclusions drawn from some of these pre-season games with so many unknown factors that sometimes fool us.  We know about this game, because it was a better known game and James has good insight/tidbits on it.
 
 Just imagine the smaller games that no one pays attention to but the coaches that are present.  That is why I am careful and rarely draw conclusions with some of these games.

Armwood is a very good football team. They will be tough to beat this year once they clean some things up offensively and on special teams. The junior QB they have is going to be a great player, but I think they should commit to pounding the rock. They have a giant offensive line and two D1 RBs. That should be their calling card.
 
I think the story in this game is how well Manatee played up front. They are smaller than usual on the offensive line, but those kids are strong and athletic. They opened up lanes for Josh Booker, a junior RB, who is a 215lb bruiser at RB for the Canes. Plenty of weapons on the outside for Manatee as well. Should be a fun season for the Hurricanes. The sky is the limit.

Not to sound cocky, but I will be surprised if it isn't as well.

North Marion lost out big time by Wilsher transferring to Belleview. He looks very poised beyond his years. And, is only a Sophomore this year. As you stated, Belleview has nearly double the roster of last year. Also, they had only 2 Seniors on the 2015 team. So, they are now a Senior laden team and I see them with a breakout season. 

James..............in a sense it did have to do with Brantley's  departure. Coach Sturdivant has a totally different coaching style than Brantley had. There is no place for super stars (in their mind only) on his team. He employs a team first strategy not a me first strategy. I know him and he is truly a decent and respected fellow. He is building character and confidence along with strict fundamentals. Last year the team suffered from too many upsets including a complete change of coaching, transfers out, and a starting QB who went down with a season ending injury. This will be a whole new season with a Senior laden team that has a few experienced D-1 players and a huge OL. Also, Senior QB Ryan Miller is good to go. I don't expect miracles. But, this team is now good enough to hang with every team on their schedule and probably will surprise a few.   

James is absolutely correct. Although it's considered a preseason game and doesn't count on the W-L record it has been confirmed by multiple media outlets that you are evaluated every time you take the field.
