Well in 2009 DP came back but eventually lost in OT...
Apopka took a 26-7 first quarter lead... DP tied it and lost 58-52 in 5OT's
I was on a plane during the game. The last update I saw (from the Orlando Sentinel website) was 26-7 in the 1st. That was a depressing plane ride.

He really doesn't get Central Florida. It been years and it's the same. He's just very active on message boards so people take him seriously.
Wekiva is much better than the teams he just posted in his most recent ramble. He does not know the players, period. He follows current senior classes and where the recruits are going next year.

Columbia if I did a state ranking I would be guessing but I have seen most teams in Central Florida play either in person or on film.  Sumter, Lake, Orange, Seminole and Volusia County.  Here is my top 10. Last # is maxpreps state ranking.
1. Apopka 45(a little low you think)

5. DP 15
6. Wekiva 138 way too low they are loaded
7. Bishop Moore 44
8. OC University 24 (they are not top 25)

DP will be fine... I'll find time this weekend to post my full thoughts. The penalties typically give their opponents around 7 points a game... it was pretty bad in the first half last night.
 
Both teams are state contenders. In 8A north I think it's going to be Apopka, DP, Osceola, Vero Beach or Orange City. Wekiva is also a dark horse. Right now I see an Apopka-DP final four.
 
DP's "it" guy will be back for the Mainland game...#1 Tanner Ingle. He makes a huge difference in every game he plays in and may be the best instinctual DP player of all time.

I will be at this game tonight.  Interested in watching Michigan commit Joe Milton live.  I will save my opinion of him until after I watch him live.  Also interested in seeing if West Orange can rebound from a down year.  I will update on this thread.  I got Olympia in a close one  35-28

My two dark horses out of CFla are Wekiva and Olympia and with the new playoff format we could see 5 West Orange County teams in the playoffs
The area is extremely deep in talent.

All are talented but wow it looks like Wekiva has scooped up some talent that was originally zoned for Apopka. Apopka is a major program, however, and somehow Coach Darkington always gets it done.
 
In the years ahead I see a rivalry brewing between Wekiva and Apopka and perhaps some close games.

Can't disclose who... but damn... DP was not scared to schedule this year. Tougher than the gauntlet they went thru the last two years. Info will come from the school and I'll analyze after they have posted. You all will like it... big games coming this year. ONE IS A HUUUUGE GAME

DP goes by the book. The discipline came when DP self reported the fact that a non-US citizen who lived in the zone played for the team. They didn't know he was not a citizen obviously and the address checked out. That was 2010.
