Tallahassee has a football stadium bigger than Orlando.  UWF plays its games in downtown Pensacola.  If you don’t want college stadiums there are other large municipal stadiums that have the capacity, and I’ve seen the crowds which would fit in many high school stadiums easily.  There are more hotels in the panhandle.  We have basketball courts at FSU, UWF, NWFSC where they host a Thanksgiving weekend College tournament broadcast nationally.  We have baseball stadiums at all those schools as well as in all the cities.   There isn’t a single sport that could not be hosted in the panhandle at a venue equal to or better than a south Florida site.  It could be done and should be done, at least for no other reason than to get people out of south Florida to show them another part of their state that isn’t like the rest of Florida.  If a sport is hosted in Ft Myers then it should also be hosted in the panhandle the next year.

He is going, Perspetive.  It will be his third.  I'm sure he would trade that trip for one to Daytona to coach a state championship game.  But that won't happen this year.  

And I hear Sam Jr. is going to the Super Bowl this year.

Well if you are a 1A or 2A team and the only schools in a 80 miles radius are 4A, 5A. 6A. 7A, and 8A teams you may lose a lot of games. In theory, having 6 classes would be best. Merge 1A and 2A, and 3A and 4A into 2 classes. That would help keep some of those losing teams out. Also run the new 1A and 2A like the rest of the playoff brackets.
Probably why it won't happen. The smaller schools will drop out and become independant teams. Also the FHSAA would lose out on cash, minus 2 gate in the championships. Not sure how much that would amount to but they got to pay themselves and the ref's somehow.

There was some talk about a 4-6 Braden River should not have been in the playoffs over a 6-4 Sebastian River team,  despite the loss,  I think the RPI system got it right this time.
 
Having seen Sebastian in person, I think they would have gotten blasted by Palmetto, at least Braden River made it a competitive game.

Fort Myers is one of the most consistent teams in the state but overall lacks success in the playoffs 
 
One of about 6 or 7 teams with 600 wins (along with Lakeland, Manatee, Columbia, St Augustine, and Leon are ones I can think of who have also done that in state history)

Daytona Beach to Pensacola or vice versa is over 6 hours, sorry there are limits on how far people are willing to travel for a 1st round game. Now games, where it is 30 minutes the excuse doesn't fly. 

As long as we win we host until the state semis ATLEAST ..but it’s so many ft Myers teams in can you rank them from first to last since u know the schools ... I thought the green waves had a easy 1st round
