Skyway, if memory serves me correct, I had the same concern and someone was able to explain to me how to change my settings so that the signature blocks won't show up on the posts.   My life is so much better now.

This link should help show most if not all the transfers from SFL

You love to disparage the teams that don't work with your boy Joe. But, that doesn't explain how SFA is supposed to score any points against the 2022 Lakeland defense. How would the SFA offense attack this Lakeland defense? I'm talking match ups. What would they exploit? (I'll try to keep an open mind, rather than assume you'll make some cheap quip about Lakeland's schedule.)

I'm afraid this Venice team is not going to be as good as the team that lost to SFA in 2019. And SFA will be as good or better than their 2019 team. I don't recall that game being the least bit competitive.

Not sure if you intended this as a joke, but HAHA anyway.  As a running back he did a decent job, but their primary weapon on the ground (Moulton) had triple the yards and returns for his senior year.  Heck, even the QB Risk out gained him.  As far as his defensive prowess, the stats show he had 2 tackles in 13 games so not convinced it is a huge get for Monarch.  Plus most likely a team like Gibbons have added weapons you may not know about that will lessen his role even more, thus a smart move to look for a bigger role on a lesser team on his part.

We've reached a point where, for just about anyone to make a deep playoff run, they have to snatch up local kids. All of the schools are trying to snatch up all of the local talent. They're just having varying degrees of success doing so.

Don't know if I qualify as an "OTHER", but the main thing wrong with your argument and you continue to not believe is that Private Schools offer scholarships to top football players.  That does nothing to enhance their financial position, because they are not collecting tuition from them.  Parents of these kinds of kids do see it as a PLUS because they will receive a better education than their local public HS, but they are being recruited for their talents on the field.  Prime example was an extremely talented receiver from our Poinciana area (Lamar Patterson) that ended up at St. Francis Academy in Baltimore, MD.  His family would only make this type of move if they were offered financial assistance.  Hated to bring his name up as he recently was killed in an automobile accident on his way to school, so apologies to the family and RIP Lamar.

The part of the equation you are conveniently omitting is that TCA probably lost that 3*QB to Riverside because they were bringing in Colin Hurley to that private school; probably projected at a 5*.  Now, I will readily admit I don't know where he was zoned to attend but we can all agree who got the better deal.   Can the same case be made for the TE/DE/LB that STA lost as opposed to who they got??   So yes, publics do the same but don't expect me to feel sorry that somehow privates are being demonized unfairly because they lose players too.  When that happens, they usually have been upgraded.

Sooooo what you're REALLY saying is that STA is like a roach motel?  Players check in, but they're not supposed to check out

All of the schools that benefit from an influx of transfers also lose transfers all the time. Roughly 95% of the time, the players they lose weren't good enough to get as much playing time as they want, because there's someone else better than them at their position. Lakeland lost two running backs this off-season, both of whom figure to get scholarship offers.  There's just substantial movement of players all over the place.

Never said we didn't have any, just not as many.  Plus, if you look closely we do more rodeoing than shooting.

Back when I was a kid, TV broadcasts of games would routinely start games with comparing the weights of the OL and DLs. They'd emphasize it when there was a big disparity in lbs per man. That would matter if it was actual wrestling going on. But, the only goal of the DL is to get to the ball; they don't need to engage with the OL at all! Miami in the 80s was famous for having guys shoot the gaps and blow plays up. Obviously, at the more advanced levels of the game, guys can be outmatched if they're too small/weak. But, in HS quickness is the most important attribute.

Yeah people are so focused upon the 300 lb benchmark for linemen they forget that college recruiters look for speed and length for the DL.  A 6'3 230 lb DT that is super athletic and has long arms translates better to the college game compared to a 6'0 300 lb immovable block of human that looks like a stud at the HS level.  I would take the lighter, longer guys all day as they are the hardest to block due to their length.

And I think something hard for a lot of people to get their heads around is how lighter DTs can be a major problem as well. You'd need a lot of them to rotate through, but the 215 lb kids can cause havoc shooting the gaps if they know what they're doing.

Agree. When your DE’s are faster than the RB’s, it can b a long day for the run game.

Their height and reach already causes problems for o-lineman. But if you add in a great get off and high effort, you will have a great front four at any level.

    Some points here:
    1) these kids have played together before. They played together as younger kids, and they play pickup games in local parks together. They've traveled on recruiting trips together, too. That's part of why they wanted to play the season together.
    2) Lakeland's record against Dade is obscenely in favor of Lakeland, and they've almost certainly played more games against Dade teams than any other program not in the tri-county area of South Florida. Carol city was real good in 2015 and 2016, and Lakeland was nowhere near their best those seasons.
    3) It seems pretty clear some Dade (including Central) teams have ducked them this year. Sure, Lakeland is up and Central is down. And perhaps it's true that when those roles were reversed, it was the other way around. In that case, they are each guilty of the same thing.
    4) Hopefully, there can be a bowl game of sorts after the season between metro and suburban champs.

Traveling long distances for games in which a sponsor is not footing most/all of the bill are bad ideas for all public school teams (and most privates, too). We shouldn't mock some for not playing such games, while letting others off the hook. Teams should play other teams within no more than a couple hours' drive. This means that teams in urban areas with several good teams are more likely to play more elite teams.

First off let's be clear I am not a fan of Lakeland, but Skyway promoting them as world beaters isn't the same as how this thread portrays them.....LAKELAND Calls out Dade.  Also, all the transfers they have gotten hasn't convince me that we can't compete with them.  However to address your question of when they can compete with SFL schools, they beat STA in the championship game in 2018, 33-20.  As for dissing of other "North and Central FL" schools.... the following 2 years STA beat Edgewater those were competitive games.   DP  beat Atlantic in state championship in 2017, Mandarin beat Columbus in 2018, Columbus beat Apopka by 1 (21-20) in 2019,  Seminole was state champ in 2020 and Venice in 2021.  The year (2019) Columbus was state champ we lost to them 21-17 with an opportunity to win at the end and in 2020 we beat Palmetto in Miami to advance to the championship game against Seminole.   I do agree that SFL is more loaded and has more quality teams, which is dictated by population, so I am not dissing them as they do have great teams.  Lastly, I don't recall Dillard venturing out north against those few quality teams you seem to mock.
