  1. Columbia is waiting to hear back from Wakulla atm If Pine Forest is interested they can call Columbia, Pine Forest isn't a big enough program for Columbia to beg for a game

  2. Idk I saw several from the Dillard kids I would say that I've seen this for a few years now when I come across Twitter posts of kids transferring

  5. For context, the kids dad was a coach at Fort White for 2 years under Coach Jackson and had Jackson ended up at Columbia sooner it may have led to him following Jackson to Columbia along with the QB

  6. The reality is that had Coach Jackson ended up at Columbia about a month or 2 earlier than he did, Jefferson would had likely been at Columbia last year based on people I've spoken to about this situation By the time he got the job, his dad was already at Hawthorne with a coaching position so he went to Hawthorne

  7. We wouldn't know because they won't play a top 50 FL team

  8. Yeah Colorado is the worst of this followed by Georgia

  9. I’m just messing with you. It was 1’s vs 1’s the entire first half and Columbia was dog walking them.

  12. Nolebull, off the top of my head (and thinking in general terms and not Gadsden vs. Nassau terms), I can think of a few reasons: 1. Some areas of the state may be more motivated by the singular success of their county's football programs vs. all the other aspects of a public school system (cough, cough, Polk, cough cough). 2. Merger of schools can be a big political issue, especially in smaller counties. If two high schools get merged into one, chances are one high school principal is losing his or her job. Economically, combining two into one may make sense, but when school board member Susan has to go to church on Sunday and explain to her friend Sally why Sally's principal husband Joe no longer has a job, economies of scale are likely to take a back seat. 3. Although Florida is still growing, some areas of the state are growing a record rates while others are relatively stagnant. If you live in an area of growth, you probably don't want to combine two schools into one, but instead want to give both schools room to grow. 4. Schools are like business and math: always easier to add than to subtract. That's all I've got off the top of my head.

    2022 transfer thread

Gadsden County went from 4 high school to 2 in the early 2000s. The merger of East and West Gadsden High Schools in 2017 was part of a broader reconfiguration of the county school system due to significant financial struggles. Public support and sentiment were mixed at the time, and the measure only passed by a 3-2 vote of the school board. Closing or merging schools in rural areas creates a lot of emotional feelings. I would guess that Nassau County does not have the political will or financial motivation to take the action you suggest.

  14. But it is convenient how many OOS teams manage to find the weakest matchups possible then go back to their states bragging about beating a Florida team

  15. Too bad Monarch isn’t playing an OOS games but horrible teams like Coral Glades and West Broward are. Hell West Broward is playing the top team from Tennessee. About to get a 50 point ass stomping to go with that mountain sight seeing

  16. Larry Blustein just put an article up of South Florida Transfers. It’s incomplete as a bunch of minor guys I’ve heard of are missing, but it is probably the best list your going to find. Shows the Park Vista guys. Park Vista coach was let go and families weren’t happy it seemed from reports, so not surprising they left. Monarch isn’t exactly around the corner for them though.

  17. I don't have a problem with it because while Columbia gets one transfer most teams in our district every year are getting 10 We were already district favorites and now this will help Columbia get a major boost in the potential regional playoffs chase and 20 years ago he would have been at Columbia High anyway Most High Springs kids end up at either Santa Fe or Fort White since while High Springs is technically alachua county it's as far from Gainesville as Lake City

  18. His family lives in High Springs which is probably 20-25 minutes from Columbia High so similar distance to what he was doing at Hawthorne and a little more than Fort White but both schools his dad was coaching at Idk if his dad ends up coaching at Columbia now as I haven't seen anything to suggest it yet but who knows, he did play under Coach Jackson for 2 years at Fort White before going to Hawthorne last year before Jackson was hired by Columbia and his dad I believe graduated from Columbia in the 90s so if anything he could have easily ended up being a 4 year Columbia player if one or two things had been different a couple of years ago

  19. Just one question when did players start making paragraphs & publicly announcing their decision to transfer schools. is the LeBron “decision” 2.0

  20. A lot of flowery words of thanks and praise for his former teammates at Hawthorne. Did his family actually move to Columbia HS district or did he "bail" on his former teammates? Nice "touch" with the hearts.

  21. It's a different world when you have 5 OL's and 4 DL's, with large bodies, going at it right in front of the QB. In 7v7, the QB usually has a clear, unobstructed view of the field. and he has four seconds to get rid of the ball. A Pro Style QB under 6 foot tall can be very successful in 7v7 because he can see the whole field. There's a reason why most of the top HS QB's are 6'3" or taller and dual threat; they have a better view of the entire field and can find their receivers over the middle.

  22. Still week 11 open for any team that wanted to talk shit about Columbia the last 2 seasons to step up if you the big shot you think you are

  25. Not sure if you intended this as a joke, but HAHA anyway. As a running back he did a decent job, but their primary weapon on the ground (Moulton) had triple the yards and returns for his senior year. Heck, even the QB Risk out gained him. As far as his defensive prowess, the stats show he had 2 tackles in 13 games so not convinced it is a huge get for Monarch. Plus most likely a team like Gibbons have added weapons you may not know about that will lessen his role even more, thus a smart move to look for a bigger role on a lesser team on his part.
