That is John Maranto, who was the Head Coach at Mainland, Marimar, and New Smyrna Beach. Coach Maranto won a state title at Mainland in 2003, to this day the only state title in high school football for Volusia County. Also,  he was the Head Coach for a very valued, important, and rumored good looking poster to this message board in high school. lol

Yes, in 1994 at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium. I attended that game.

Hopefully, there can be some kind of Police reform. Police need to understand that they are public servants first, and I think that we have all had our eyes opened throughout this whole terrible ordeal. The peaceful protesters  are doing a wonderful job exercising their First Amendment rights, and it is refreshing to hear their point-of-view. I don't know what it is like to be black, but I feel that I am learning a lot hearing and reading from our African-American citizens.

I would be interesting to have football season during February to possibly early May. I have always felt that this would be a great idea with no Hurricanes, very little severe thunderstorms, and less heat than August and September. I wonder if Rutgers and Princeton would have played that game in March instead of November in 1869, maybe football would be a spring instead of a fall sport.

Badbird, if the play was sent in to the FHSAA, that organization could analyze the play, send it out to the Officials Associations, and suggest ways to improve whether it be positioning or another official with a better view possibly overruling the line judge/head linesman etc.  Then it could be used as a teaching point, so it could decrease the chance of a call like that being made again. As far as doing no good, cursing out the officials on the way to the bus achieves that, but it would probably make the coaches and players feel better obviously.

My guess would be Fred Marion, who played at college football at Miami, and in the NFL for the New England Patriots, but I am probably wrong.
