My son plays DE, so naturally I watch the line of scrimmage play most often.  Holding happens a lot more than it is actually flagged (no surprise).  Most refs will not call it unless it is at the point of attack usually.  My son used to get mad about it, but he has learned that it is what it is and just play through it.  He had a guy pretty much get him in a head lock while chasing the qb right in front of the white hat.  He asks the white hat if he saw that after the play was over, he responded "just play football".

Just bought my tickets to the Bartram v. Riverside High this Friday.  Can't wait for football....

Who would have thought he still had any eligibility.  

I can think of at least one team here in Central Florida that has made back to back to back deep runs that could use one. But I certainly would not aid and abet a rival. 

I will be attending Sofa vs Bed.  Bed naturally has a sizable advantage but beware.  Sofa could sneak up and pull an upset.

That my friend is the greatest tragedy in this entire discussion, not a kid transferring to play football.  Our failure as a community to really see what is happening to our public schools and letting them go to ---- in a hand basket.

In all seriousness. This is how the scheduling process “appears” to be set up with Maxpreps. It appears that each school has designated individual(s) that have access to MaxPreps scheduling web pages. That means over 550 people can input Florida schedules and schedule changes. It doesn’t take Einstein to figure out that this can lead to nothing but disaster and inaccuracies. There needs to be a single source of input who has the capability to audit for accuracy before schedules are entered. This will ensure errors and conflicts are identified and resolved prior to entering the schedules into the site. Again….only 1 input source.
And yes, I want the job. 
 


 

 

Breaking news:
Hallandale's 4-star athletic trainer, Will "Tape" Williams announced he will be transferring to another school sometime before the new school year starts.   When questioned about his decision, Tape quietly replied:  "Everyone's gone.  I need ankles to tape and there's no one left here."  As to where Tape might land, he indicated that he would leave that up to his handlers. 

Ponte Vedra should be a good team this year. They’ve got some talent and a proven coach has been hired. Creekside should be solid but the loss of the QB is tough and they’re in a tough district. I haven’t heard much about St Augustine or Nease but I expect St Augustine to be pretty good. 

Bartram vs. Lee (Riverside High) will be the game that I go to.  Haven't been to The Backyard in about 30 years....

I'll throw my vote towards the Bartram Trail only because I'm a homer.  In all seriousness, BT has a good defense this year.  They showed well at the FCA camp over the weekend (so I hear).  Offense needs some help.  We are a little green at QB.  I hope we can compete and make a decent playoff run this year.  Getting past Seminole is going to be tough though....
