I saw the first half live. Despite poor video quality late in the 2nd, I saw enough to determine that Palmetto was outclassed both offensively and defensively.
My own thoughts are that under normal conditions, Columbus wins this game by 4 scores or more. 

They will be out. I think the issue is in the preseason when we don’t know a lot, but you have to make a list there are always contenders and pretenders. Homestead made the title last year and gave STA a dogfight, and returned a good group. So Homestead was ranked high in the preseason. So when Palmetto beat them, it was perceived as a good win at the time. So they got extra rewarded for what was perceived as beating a quality team. The ole bait and switch. Lol. 
 
Columbus is really good. Right under the elite teams. They are the first team out of the elite group. But they are right there. So Palmetto losing to them is expected. But you have to be somewhat competitive. 

Dominated Osceola better than Treasure Coast and Jones. About the same as Seminole. 

Some ugly weather down here. Game may well end 15-0 with all the lightning. Is that considered a competitive game? LOL.

By the way, last year Swint was a 3* and Melendez was an unknown to experts like you.  Melendez exploded into a 4* after the season ended and during the offseason.  We have those kinds of players on our roster today unknown to experts like you.

Man Edgewater just blew the doors off Jones! Jones lost by 2 to Cocoa and blown out similarly by Good Counsel who is ranked like SJP is.

you argue that they were competitive all the way until the fourth quarter, but failed to leave out that Lakeland was only beating LARGO 7-0 with two minutes left in the 3rd quarter!!!!! 
 
The national computers have Largo 109th in Florida. Let’s say that’s B.S. and they are really around 75th in FL. Why is Lakeland who you think is this top juggernaut barely beating an inferior team like that?

Struggled for 4 quarters against a bad team.

And please don’t use the excuse they didn’t practice much because of the hurricane. Largo had just as much practice maybe less because they are located in a much more vulnerable area.

Bad in the context of where they are in the state. If you watching them from a local standpoint, they are a good team. For the area. But like I said on a state scale they are not that good. It all depends on how you a rating them. From a county standpoint they are good. From Tampa Bay area, they are decent. From the state they are not good.

GA took this event 4 games to 3, but it is worth noting that Georgia teams were ranked higher in GA than the FL teams in 6 of the 7 games! The only FL advantage was UC vs Charlton. The other 6 favored the GA team and all 7 games were in GA. So when you take that into consideration you could say it ended well
