Still recovering from Hurricane Irma, the Florida Keys have opened several schools including Key West, Coral Shores, and Marathon Middle- High School. The Keys opened to residents last week and are expected to open government offices today as well.

Key West High is generally a scrappy team and returned to 4A this year after a few solid years as Independents.  The 6- 12 range in 4A is probably a fair assessment right now but I don't know they will be able to finish the season off a 2-0 start.  I would imagine you are looking at a situation with a rusty team, limited practice and facility options and unfortunately perhaps students still living in shelters which is obviously a bigger matter then football.

If anybody from any of the 3 major High Schools in the Keys is reading this, feel free to give us any insight as to what is going on down there as to how the students and residents are recovering from Irma....

Just have to feel for those in the Keys. The wreckage made no rhyme or reason. One house gone, and next door it was minor damage. Have friends that live in the Keys and they are at a loss for words to describe the damage. One even lives in a mobile home, though it is on a canal and anchored pretty well. She said her home was hardly touched but her trees and her neighbors had suffered alots of damage. One friend found his boat over 22 miles from his dock on another island, beached and floating upside down. Crazy stuff like that.
