Since 2006, 3 south Florida hs quarterbacks have made ESPN's Top 150.  All played hs ball this decade.  All were rated as 4-star athletes and were ranked amongst the top 10 hs qb's in the country their senior seasons.  One played for a MIami-Dade school and the other two played for Broward schools?  Each had varying degrees of success in college.

Who are they and for what high school did each one play?

Teddy Bridgewater of Miami Northwestern is one of them!   He was ranked as the No. 2. dual-threat quarterback in the 2011 class and was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.  Was ranked 141st on ESPNU Class of 150.  Threw for 2,606 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior.  Threw for 436 yards and scored four touchdowns in 42-27 loss to Miami Central in the 6-A semifinals. Set the Dade County record for most touchdown passes in a game with seven.  Passed for 2,546 yards and 32 touchdowns and rushed for 379 yards and five more scores during his junior campaign.  Led team to 6A state title game as sophomore.

Had a stellar career at Louisville and after several seasons in the NFL with the Vikings, he recently signed a contract with the Jets.

Good job ColumbiaFan!

Eugene "Geno" Smith played for Miramar High (Class of 2009) in Broward County.  During Smith's senior season, he led his team to the state 6A semi-finals and completed 205 of 338 passes for 3,089 yards and 30 touchdowns while also rushing for over 300 yards. He was an All-State First Team in Florida Class 6A and a Parade All-American. He finished No. 2 in the voting for Mr. Florida.  He was ranked #97 on the ESPN Top 150 prospects list.  After a stellar career at West Virginia University, he signed with the New York Jets.  He recently signed a contract with the LA Chargers.   Good job Bocefous!

Sean White played for University School(Class of 2014) after transferring from Chaminade-Madonna.   He passed for 2,679 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior. He was the MVP of the 2014 Under Armour All-American Game.  He was ranked #41 in ESPN's Top 150 and was named Elite 11 MVP in 2013.

White was a starter for Auburn University and had a reasonable level of success, but was ultimately dismissed from the field after experiencing some off-the-field problems.  Good job Bocefous!

Daewood Davis?

the only other Florida ATH that went to Oregon that I can think of that played QB was Bruce Judson

Good try, but the answer is Jerrard Randall, who played for Chaminade-Madonna(Class of 2011).  He was supposed to be the next great qb at Oregon.  Then he mysteriously transferred to LSU.  Then he went to a community college in Mississippi.  He finally ended up at U of Arizona, where he saw limited playing time.

This young man had everything...speed, arm strength, touch...really thought he would be another Teddy Bridgewater, but alas, the stars did not align.

    • FINAL: DILLARD 21 MONARCH 15 In a game that featured one team who was in the state semi game last year in monarch who got even better through the transfer portal in the last few months ; Vs a Dillard team with a 2nd year head coach who has a lot to prove coming into this season after a lack luster 2023 season.    OVERALL- this game had a feeling of a playoff game. Both teams played their starters well into the 4th quarter, add the big crowd for both teams, the hard hits & the bands going at it, it felt like a game with huge implications yet we are only in May.    In my early in the week predictions I had monarch winning this game 28-21 simply because in my opinion they had the better team and the better offense. More skill players & the better line play within the trenches.    THE GAME: monarch came out on their second possession moved the ball down Dillards throat to take a 7-0 lead, only to see dillard come back on their next drive and tie the game 7-7. after that it was pretty much all Dillard. The defense played way better than expected & the offense while have a few kinks to work out showed some signs of being able to be something special come august.    after jumping out 7-0 dillard scored 21 consecutive points to go up 21-7. The knights scored a TD with 2 min left to make it 21-15 but the panthers got 2 first downs to run out the clock to get the victory 21-15. OBSERVATIONS: Monarch is once again going to be very good this year. Their online and Dline is massive. Their 4* running back is one of the best in broward & their overall team is going to give a lot of teams fits.    DILLARD: the panthers are going to be a huge dark horse this year. They look to have another solid defense, they’re not massive in the trenches, but they have some dawgs and appear to be well coached.    with the off season to go , Dillard can turn some heads this season, and they proved that tonight with a good win over a quality inner city opponent.
    • Solid win for a spring matchup between quality opponents.
    • Congrats on the win darter.
