XDC Florida High School Football Tour: Week 1 (Carol City at American Heritage Plantation)

Headed down South to see, in my estimation, one of the better games in the state tonight. While early, this one should tell us a lot about how things are going to shake out down South this year. Excited to watch a couple of former players go to work on a pretty big stage. Should be fun.

Quick strike by CC. 80 yard run on what looked to be a quick trap out of 20 personnel. Here we go!

CC turns it over on downs deep in AHP territory. 

I'll say this: CC really sound in the run game.

AHP settles for a FG. 10-7.

CC starting to load the box with a lot of man free vs. AHP two-back formations. Tough sledding.

Two well-coached ball clubs.

CC throws a deep ball into double coverage on second down. Pick.

AHP driving close to midfield. QB is impressive for the Patriots. Can sling it and has impressive burst when he pulls it.

After a short punt (five yards) CC turns it over on downs inside the AHP 20.

AHP playing a 4-3 box Cover 0 against all spread formations. Holding up so far!

14-10 CC at the half.

Couldnt make out the clock situation, but AHP ran out of time after a long scramble by the Q. 

First half take: two really good teams. I think both will struggle to run the ball in the second half, as both defenses have loaded the box and dared the offense to throw it.

Despite the complete lack of a kicking game: edge to CC. I think some big plays are coming through the air in the 2H.

CC capitalizes on a fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half and scores on a beautiful throw to the corner of the endzone. Of course, missed XP.
