FHSAA seeking new host for Basketball finals...are the Football finals next?

FHSAA put out an RFP (Request for Proposal) to select a new host for the basketball finals. Jacksonville and Orlando have been mentioned as possible cities wanting to host.

 

However, no word yet (still) on the Football Finals, although the last time I talk to Dr. Dearing, they were closer to a decision of what is going to happen. Question now is will Orlando host for two more years at least or will another city get a shot at hosting the finals for the first time since 2007?

 

Interested to hear your thoughts on all of this.

FHSAA fell out of love with Lakeland because of the "drama" between the 2 entities.  By all accounts I think they like Orlando but the stadium construction may be a worry even though it will have to be playable no later than the Florida Classic as that is not a game that can be easily relocated.

Right and that is the concern...hopefully we will find out soon what is going on and get on to planning for the entire season knowing where our finals will be played at.
