Am sharing this because it's a good example of a young man who dominated in high school, but found tough sledding in college.  He was one of the top WR recruits of the Class of 2015.  As you'll see in the article below, he was struggling for playing time with a number of young, 4-star Texas recruits coming into the picture.  Due to an injury, he was able to redshirt this year.

A number of kids who have gone to the elite college programs outside Florida have struggled for playing time.  For every Calvin Ridley at Alabama, there are 3 or 4 who don't make it.  I recently saw a post of a young man who is transferring high schools and he is commenting confidently how he is going to college and going to get his mother out of what sounds like tough circumstances.  It's a touching thought, but I am not sure the kids today realize that getting the scholarship is really the easy part.  Keeping their grades up, keeping their nose clean AND fighting for a starting spot against a lot of kids who are just as good or better.  Nick Saban did an interview this year where he spoke of the unrealistic expectations kids have today.

Name:  John Burt

Position:  Wide Receiver

Height/weight:  6-3, 170

High school:  Tallahassee Lincoln

247Sports.com star rating: 4

247Sports.com national ranking: No. 138

247Sports.com position ranking: No. 14

247Sports.com state ranking: No. 21

The Buzz: Committed to Texas. Burt pledged to the Longhorns but later had a change of heart when Auburn came into the mix. However, John re-committed to Texas in late January. Burt is also an outstanding return man who could probably use a redshirt season to bulk up.
